My dog had…read morecherry eye in her right eye a few months ago and had surgery for it. we had a "consultation" where we paid $42 for him to look at her eye and schedule surgery. well she has it again in her left now, I called the vet tech, she would check bc she didn't think a consultation was necessary especially since we knew what it was and had already been through this previously, the vet said yes we would need to come in. I told her I didn't want to pay $42 for him to look at it and tell me that it's cherry eye bc we all already knew that. He insisted we come in so we did today at 2. We went back he took her temp. and sent us on our way...$42 for him to take her temp. he said she wasn't up to date on her shots which I knew she in fact was so I said "she is up to date that's why she was able to do surgery a few months ago" he snapped back replying that he didn't think so. We went to the front and yes she is up to date I then asked why we had needed to come in today if all he did was take her temp. He replied well you want me to take some blood too? I said no bc it's not necessary and that's just costing us money. I said all you did was take her temperature correct he said yup, I guess I was looking for an answer of why it was necessary to come in. He said look "do you want to do business or not?!" In shock I left the tech apologized at least 5 times on his behalf she said it was unnecessary and she didn't understand why he wanted us to come in in the first place and another patient gave me a number to a different vet. we have always taken our dogs there to Dr. Keim and spent a good amount of money with them. Our dogs are fixed and up to date on shots and healthy minus her eye but that's genetic. if you want to have your money taken and be "talked at" that's the place to go. I normally wouldn't do this but I was so appalled by his actions I had to. If anyone has good vet recommendations in town feel free to let me know!:-) Let me note that I don't have a problem spending money on my fur babies ;) but as you can understand no one knew why this visit was necessary except for him getting my money.

It is obvious that the people working there care about animals, and I appreciated the way they handled her once we were finally seen. However, the experience leading up to the appointment was frustrating and frankly unacceptable from a customer service standpoint. I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment and then sat in the waiting room for roughly 40 minutes before being called in. During that entire time, no one acknowledged the delay. There was no update, no explanation, and no simple "sorry for the wait" from the front desk. When I was eventually called back, the vet tech also made no mention of the delay. The whole interaction carried on as if everything were perfectly on schedule. What makes this especially frustrating is that earlier the same day I received a text message from the clinic reminding me that if I were late or missed my appointment I would be charged a $50 fee. That kind of policy suggests the clinic values punctuality and accountability from its clients. Unfortunately, that same standard clearly does not appear to apply in the other direction. When the clinic runs 40 minutes late, the expectation seems to be that the customer simply sits quietly and absorbs the delay. Delays happen in veterinary medicine and most reasonable people understand that. Emergencies come up. Appointments run long. That is not the issue. The issue is the complete lack of communication or basic courtesy about it. A quick acknowledgment, an apology, or even a simple update would have gone a long way toward showing respect for the time of the people sitting in the waiting room. Compounding the problem was the attitude from the doctor, which made it clear that this level of delay was treated as normal and not worth acknowledging. If that is how the clinic chooses to operate, that is their decision. But it is not a standard of professionalism I am willing to accept. I let them know before leaving that I will be taking my business elsewhere and will not be returning to All Pets Animal Hospital. The staff were kind to my dog, and I appreciate that, but respect for a client's time and basic accountability matter as well.
