I've gotten most of my tattoos done at ink dynasty (some by artists who aren't there anymore) and have been going there for close to a decade now. I now get tattooed by Tanner. He did my knuckles about 6+ years ago and they're still in perfect condition without any fall out. He's now done both arm sleeves, my head, my stomach and started a back piece. I have to say James is super nice and friendly. We talked about placement, he also explained that if I got the writing super small it would look all blurred etc... Went to pismo beach with my good friend and decided to get a cute turtle done at this shop on a walk in appointment. Got this done by Jorge who was very accommodating and squeezed us in. I told him I didn't want much shading in the tattoo after I saw his portfolio and he ensured me that he wouldn't shade as much as he's use to. So, after the tattoo was finished, it looked great! But as it began to heal, the turtles face and fin were over shaded with too much black..it almost looks smudged. It also didn't look close to the reference photos I showed him (which barley had any shading). He told me he shaded to add movement in the tattoo. At this point, it's been healed for about two months and the face/fin still looks smudged. I have several tattoos and can really see the difference in the quality compared to my other work. Britny is absolutely amazing!! I've been contemplating microblading for a while now and I finally decided to go for it! I could not be happier with my entire experience. I drove in from the Bay Area and the shop was super easy to find! The girl who checked me in for my appointment was very friendly and nice to talk to. The shop was clean and had a nice vibe to it. I was very excited and slightly anxious because I didn't know what I was in for. Britny explained the whole process and asked me a lot of questions to make sure I got the brows I wanted. Brian was amazing. I went in with just an idea of what I wanted, no picture to go off of. Back home, I've had multiple artists draw out what I wanted but was never satisfied so I'd been skeptical that I would actually ever get it. My boyfriend and I came in for him to get a tattoo, which Brian was able to do that same day, and after looking through the art they had displayed I decided to try one more time to get mine. I sucked it up and made an appointment for the next day before seeming the finished product, only to come in and see that he not only drew exactly what I wanted, but drew it even better than I had imagined. Well, my first thought walking into Ink Dynasty was, "wow, this place smells clean." I don't know about you, but I like that in a tattoo shop. The second thing I noticed was that there was no mass produced tattoo flash covering every open piece of wall. So far, they were batting a thousand. It was a rainy night in Pismo (what?) so there was only one patron in, but I was told an artist would be right with me. About two minutes later, there appeared Lil Steven. This guy is probably one of the most laid back people I've ever met, and I immediately felt comfortable with him. I checked out his portfolio, and was very impressed by his previous work. I had an idea for my tattoo that took symbols from two images. Even though I felt like I wasn't conveying exactly how I wanted it to look, lil Steven took it and ran. After he got through drawing, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. It's a very simple tat, but sometimes those are the easiest to mess up. Now to the tattoo. We placed and erased a couple of times, held my arm up in different positions, and all that jazz. Steven never once rushed me, or got frustrated with my repositioning (which I have experienced before). After we had it perfect, I laid down on the medical grade clean table, and Steven got to work. The intensity and passion that this guy tattoos with is very refreshing. He tried to keep my mind off the pain, but remained so focused on the job at hand. Now the tattoo is done, looks absolutely amazing, and it's exactly what I wanted. I didn't know that something so simple could come out looking so detailed and perfect. I'm already planning to go back in to work on a draft for my half sleeve. If you're looking for a respectable, clean tattoo parlor, with professional artists (emphasis on the word "artists"), then Ink Dynasty is where you should be going. Kudos, guys. Got some ink at Ink Dynasty today. The first thing I noticed was how clean the shop like and yes, even smelled! This is important to me as I know the hazards of using equipment that is not clean. The artists were friendly and professional. They were all busy at the time but still took the time to say how good my piece looked. Previously having lived in the third most tattooed city in America--Richmond VA (with the number of tattoo shops to match... Some good, many bad), I was a little disappointed moving upon moving to the central coast 3 years ago. I searched and searched, looking for a shop with all the right elements: über clean, variety in styles, with artists who thrive on tattooing, and growing in their art! Sometimes a shop had one of those elements, or a specific artist would catch my eye, but never did one location have all these things I was looking for. After a couple years of living here, and talking to people who had nice work, you'll notice one name that keeps popping up: Keith Duggan. And it's not without good reason. The next name you'll probably hear a lot is Jake Schroeder, who was Keith's protégé a while back (and you can find him at Keith's shop now). Ok, enough with the history lesson!! I've scouted all the portfolios of the 6 artists that currently tattoo there (Keith, Jared, Stevie, John, Steven, and Jake), and I promise that amongst these 6, at LEAST one of them will be able to customize and execute exactly the style of tattoo you are looking for. I got some realistic roses from Jared (don't let his age throw you off... I think he just may be a realism prodigy) and I couldn't be happier. It's undoubtedly the best piece of work on my body thus far, and it's too bad they're on my glutes because I just want to show them off!! Usually I hate reviews of tattoo shops because artists come and go, and that's really the key element when looking into getting a tattoo. But, you can count in Keith to only bring in the cream of the crop, and to have a nice, clean shop with a great atmosphere. Definitely check this place out when you're ready to get inked. read more

I recently had my eyebrows done by Britny Schroeder. It was the best decision I have ever made! Not having to fill in my eyebrows has been a huge time saver for me.
