The level of detail and thought she puts into every piece is incredible. Whether it's color work, shading, or fine detail--she just gets it. (Photos attached so you can see what I mean!) Willow is everything you'd want in an artist--super talented, easy to talk to, collaborative, and insanely patient. She really works with you to make sure your vision comes to life, and honestly, the end result has been even better than I imagined. Her attention to detail and ability to blend different elements into one cohesive piece is just next-level. The shop itself is awesome too. The whole environment at Sink or Swim is welcoming, friendly, and laid-back in the best way. Gary (the owner) sets a great tone, and all the artists follow suit. I've had people stop by mid-session just to compliment Willow's work--it's a super encouraging and positive place to be in. My next session will focus on adding more color and shading, and I genuinely can't wait. I'll definitely be back for more work with Willow down the line. The Tattoo shop is clean, the artists are top notch at their specialties , and they attack every session with a plan. My first tattoo from ShifuBlue was a memorial for the man who raised me, to be honest I was forgetting his face, the portrait that I received is the spitting image of the man who raised me and my relatives all get so happy when they see it. Even with him quoting me $150+ over the phone. I thought plus + what $? OK ,whatever ,I have to remind myself that the economy is different from a year ago from my last tattoo i.e. the cost. I am an overly generous tipper, so thankfully, I walked in with only a minimal amount of CASH , double the amount quoted because I DID intend on adding a few chochkies....not feeling bad , more feeling bamboozled, about giving him just a $25 tip. I felt bad for 30 seconds before I left. Eeeeesh Lordy this is a shot right to the kooter....lesson learned. Get a $$$ finished* amount ~ before the needle hits the skin. Dang it During the phone call I did ask him what his shop fee was and I was just told for the tattoo,I'm looking at $150 / $175 ... Call me I'll give you my dudes number in Encino, the most epic little shop with a rad vibes and of course, the tattoos are legendary I'm just gonna go on living my best life, but throw caution to the wind and get a solid price . It took a bit to get an appointment because she's that awesome and yes, that busy. So, plan ahead. Think about your activity and the weather. I was traveling in December and knew I didn't want to focus on new brow care while traveling. Summer wasn't good me for either because ....sun! I arrived on time and Michelle was waiting in the shop. A nice shop she shares with her husband who's also a local tattoo artist. Soon to be in her own new joint though... I've heard. First off is paperwork. It's fast, legal eagle stuff. She takes some time to explain the process. Then it's lie down and left the drawing begin. She drew out a shape she felt matched my face shape etc. She will show you so you can say yay or nay. I said yay. Then it's down to business. First a topical pain cream so you don't feel much. She goes over each brow three times with color. I did not see the tool used but it lays color onto brows, and into the skin. These are my layman's terms! It was pain free for me (except for the plucking part, which I find funny). You can hear skin pulling or scratching as she moves along. I felt very little pain during the process and even later in the day just a little pain was present. The end result was soooo worth the time and investment in myself. I go back soon for my 6 week touch up. People definitely noticed the change and many are asking for her information.
