My husband and I stopped into Glossy Nail Bar while visiting SLO and had a really nice experience overall. My husband got the Classic Manicure ($30). He mentioned the staff were very attentive and kept checking to make sure he wasn't in any discomfort during the service, which he appreciated. They were careful with his cuticles and didn't over trim them, which is something that can easily go wrong at some places. He also enjoyed chatting with the staff and had a complimentary mimosa while relaxing. I got the Glossy Deluxe Pedicure ($58) with a gel polish upgrade (+$15). The service includes quite a few steps: sea salt soak, callus remover, sugar scrub, orange slice treatment, mask with hot towel, paraffin, and an 8-minute massage with massage butter. It definitely felt like a full pampering experience rather than a quick pedicure. I happened to get Tiffany, who I later learned is one of their top artists, and she did an excellent job. She was detailed, gentle, and very thorough. Since I'm pregnant I skipped the mimosa and just had orange juice, which they happily provided. The salon itself felt very clean, modern, and high-end. It was quite busy while we were there, but I never felt rushed during the service. Everything still felt attentive and relaxed despite the crowd. One helpful thing to know: they offer a small discount if you pay with cash, Zelle, or Venmo. Overall it was a really pleasant visit with great service, a relaxing atmosphere, and high attention to detail. I'd happily come back next time I'm in SLO. read more

What a scam! They just charged me $80 for an acrylic full set. They said that they charge extra if your nail is longer than basically your nail bed. The guy said that's why is says $62+. I highly suggest you get A quote before you sit down. My daughter requested acrylic and they charged for gel x. None of it made sense. I will jot up back to this nail salon. read more

She does such an amazing job every single time, and I'm always so happy with how my nails turn out. She's consistently makes them look perfect. UPDATE: the comment left is a complete lie. I will upload a screenshot of our "conversation." I was never offered to get my nails redone. There was never even a response. I never even threatened to harm their business. Either they are confusing me for another person or they are lying to look innocent. I confronted her about it and she just left me on read again. The people handling this business is very problematic. The one who serviced me is a man, and his name was written as Simon. Even if I got the name wrong, it's a man who provided a service, not two women. And also, I would like to see the photos they "posted" . Also, not sure if Hoa is saying their name is Maria or that I am Maria? I think they are confusing me for another person, which I hope because they are just lying. Posted before updated: The service was ok but I actually got really bad athlete's foot a few hours later. It got so bad that it spread to other parts of my body. I went to a doctor and confirmed its athlete's foot. I messaged them on here requesting a refund but I was just left on read. It's frustrating because I've never had this happen to me. Shoutout my girl Lisa aka Sa! She did an amazing job. As soon as I sat down she offered me a complimentary drink, and made sure the water temperature in the tub was good. I requested acrylic so the corner of my big toe could be more square (it's broken). She did me so good, and even recommend I use a powder instead of acrylic to look more natural. She did not disappoint, and it looks outstanding! She is very personable, and kind. I highly recommend you request her if you think about coming to glossy. I first visited this salon for my wedding nails a year ago, and they were absolutely perfect! It was my first time there, and I was in love! Most recently, I had my post-birth mommy's first mani-pedi, and once again, the results were amazing of course!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and every visit feels like a special treat. The staff are incredibly talented, genuine, kind and it's clear they truly care about their craft and their clients. The quality of work is top-notch, and the ambiance is beautiful, making every appointment a relaxing experience. Whether you become a long-term regular or you are just passing through town, this nail salon will leave a lasting impression on you. They genuinely deserve all the praise and recognition. As someone who has lived in San Luis for 10 years, I'm so happy to have found my go-to salon. I was there for their grand opening, and now, as they approach their one-year anniversary, I can honestly say they've become my favorite spot. Thank you for everything you do for the community. I was visiting SLO for the week and found Glossy Nail Bar nearby to get a gel manicure/regular pedicure. I immediately loved the atmosphere, it was large, clean, and very relaxing and comfortable (especially compared to the smaller places I usually go to in San Francisco!). It was also really easy to make a reservation online the day before to avoid any wait. I was immediately seated and offered a free drink which was a nice touch (I took the champagne!). The pedicure I got was great, the tech took her time and it was very relaxing. I'm taking off a star because I had a picture of a french manicure I wanted done, and the end result didn't have as thick of a tip as the picture I had. The tech also seemed new, and was re-doing the paint a lot - and even then it didn't really match the picture. Overall if I was in the area again I'd probably come back to get a plain coat, but not maybe for designs. read more

I had my eyebrows waxed by appointment. Tech was on time and it was fast. not much conversation in the 10 to 15 i was there. The salon is neat and tidy but very busy when I was there. The pricing is very reasonable for the service I received under $20 with a 3% discount for cash. The service is bar far superior to the services offered by either Ulta or Sephora. I will use them again. Oh I commented about how busy it was and was told it is much quieter in the morning hours...just something to think about. read more

I hardly come on here to review places but I had to put in some words for how amazing this place is. I live all the way in Long Beach, CA but I always make sure to put in an appointment here when driving through SLO. They do dry manicures that will leave your cuticles so clean and their team of techs are so efficient and fast. I also got my pedicure done as well and they are so thorough with their service. 63 dollars for a basic french tip pedicure. Charged me 75 dollars for acrylic when the price online only says 62. My nails look good but they charged me much more than expected or is listed on their website. Nick did my pedicure, and he was awesome. The first lady doing my nails got upset that I didn't want to do gel x, (I had booked acrylic) and walked off. Overall good ending product but overpriced (174 dollars for classic pedicure + full acrylic set) and not very friendly. read more

Went in to get my nails done for my baby shower, and the girl who did my nails was rude and not professional when I mentioned she cut my thumbs a different size than the rest of my nails. She needs to learn from her mistakes, because the quality of this set turned out terrible, and for the amount I paid too... The manager should have been willing to offer me a discount based on the experience. Mind you, i'm pregnant, and was at this salon for 3 hours... I would not recommend this place for acrylic nails. The pedicure was great though. I hope the girl who did my baby shower nails and let me leave with the horrible quality they are gets more training or simply doesn't do acrylic nails bc shells needed 2 different people to come help her... read more

She's always on time. Literally come as you are, she's got your brows. Recently, I treated myself to the 40 Minute Brow Experience, and it exceeded every expectation. The slight vibrations through the bed, the sounds through the headphones, and one touch from Candice, took me away so very quickly into a complete state of relaxation. I didn't have to make any effort to quiet my mind. After a year that included a breast cancer diagnosis and surgery, my body has been carrying an enormous amount of stress. For 40 minutes, all of it disappeared. There was no anxiety, no to do list, and no worrying about the future. This is by far the best nail salon I have been to in San Luis Obispo. I came in as a walk in and had no wait at all. Super friendly staff and great customer service. Very clean and sanitary. They're up to date with modern nail trends and can do pretty much anything. They charge a flat fee for designs instead of per nail. They aren't super transparent about pricing but I would say they are reasonably priced. I paid $160 for a deluxe gel pedicure and a full set with extra length and designs.
