About a year ago, I had a watch battery in a Luminox dive watch replaced. I pulled out the crown to adjust the date and noticed that the entire face moved as I adjusted it. I know that I should have noticed this when I picked up my watch, but I didn't check closely enough. I'll go back to the store tomorrow to check and see if they will do anything about it, but honestly, I don't expect much from the store. The reason why I'm posting this is to warn others that may decide to use this place to beware. Oh, and by the way, they also sell watches at ridiculously inflated prices. I guess that should have been my clue!

(I am 63 now) I recovered this clock after my mom passed away and was very happy to see it. All these years I was afraid that the clock was given away or lost but it was in an old box in her garage and I was able to have it. I have tried to find someone to repair this clock for several years and realized that "A place in Time" repairs clocks I have known the owners for over 10 years now and have found that they are the greatest folks to deal with and trust them fully. They now have the clock, and I will write an update after the job is complete.

I'm not kidding…read more Recently hubby and I were on spring break and had time to explore en route, so we stopped in to check things out. This is a small store in a small town, and it's not sexy, but it's cool. If you are there when the owner is in, you may smell some lingering cigarette smoke, so if you're super sensitive, be warned. But he has dozens and dozens of grandfather clocks, mantle clocks, wall clocks, and even cuckoo clocks. Years ago, about 23 years ago, my parents had offered my husband and I a cuckoo clock as a gift for our first wedding anniversary. 20-something me laughed at the idea and told them thanks, but no thanks, but now 23 years later I'm thinking it might be fun to have a cuckoo clock, and now we do. I realize this isn't a store for everyone, but even if you are a 20-something who relies on their cell phone for all things time-related, one day you'll appreciate a working clock in your home, and maybe Northside Clocks will still be ticking. Our cuckoo purchase included very clear instructions and a three year warranty, so you never know... we might be back for a grandfather clock one day!
