Purchased complete JennAir kitchen appliances suite from A1 several years ago. Have had ongoing problems with JennAir - 3 master circuit board failures in the past 4 years on built in oven and microwave. These are supposedly premium appliances but performance and reliability have been poor at best. A1 provided little help this last round, our 3rd circuit board failure, I can't even get a return call from A1's service manager. I am permanently done with both JennAire and A1. read more

I ordered a washer / Dryer from A1, yes it took forever, Manufacturer could not keep up with orders. Given that situation, the sales manager, installation manger, and the installation crew were always professional, and courteous. I always seem to have some issue buying appliances, but A1 Appliance has ALWAYS made any problem good!! One might pay a little more going to A1, but it is worth the GREAT service the deliver. Two star for now . Had a nice service guy come out to the house last week . He spent a lot of time here but the issue is not yet resolved . Dryer vent has been ordered . The dryer gets so hot on a low setting it burns grade marks from the vent into clothes . It chars comforters and leaves marks on fleece .. this kid told me all these parts are general maintenance. We bought it in 2020 . They have been out 4 times . This kid looked about 20 years old and Probaly still has his mom doing his laundry so he doesn't know about the old maytags . My mother bought a Maytag before I was born and gave it to me when I was 25 and I used it another 5+ years . It had an agitator and the washer actually filled up with water and you could open the lid after it was started . I should have kept that . I bought into the new fancy styles , that give nothing but problems .. I NEVER had it Matienced and I don't remember the repair person ever coming to the house my whole life . Why ? Cause stuff was made better . I find it very interesting A-1 has all these complaints and stuff needing fixed . My unit is covered for now but each service call is like $200 +parts . Yall , at this rate I'm about to find me an old wash board and clothes line . At least stuff is clean and I don't have to burn up my clothes . The Amish folks on to something . Absolutely horrible experience with this company. I paid for a service call that did not fix my problem at all!, then 4 days later they called and told my husband that my check had bounced. I had ample money in my bank account. It was an error on their part, then charged us a 37.00 fee and there extremely rude on the phone. After having to go through all of this leg work and very rude people in customer service phone line they never apologized. Will never do business with them again. read more

A-1 I hated this place 22 years ago. I was really hesitant to even come into the store. I was very satisfied from the service to the salesman to the delivery. It was smooth and almost joyful. The delivery crew, Kevin and Michael were the best. Tom our salesman was honest and Tried.....a lot. He is and was Honest. So different from 22 years ago when I purchased 2 Asko dishwashers, a Wolf cooktop, and a vent a hood and maybe more (I can't remember). That trek turned out to be a nightmare. I had no idea that the salesman that didn't know what he was doing and I later discovered that he was a delivery man for fish to restaurants. I really did not make this up. It truly happened. Here is my take: 1) If you know the appliances you want SHOP price of course because a Jenn-Aire JGC7530BP is the same product no matter where you buy 2) Consider service! We have had A-1 to our home on 3 different occasions (including 3 weeks ago) to service the frig and oven. Their service techs are amazing, friendly, professional, prompt, and thorough. They almost act as a customer advocate as opposed to adversary. Salesmen are what they are so once you get past negotiations that they are a great store to buy from. Did we get the 'lowest' price. I dunno but in hindsight this was a great investment in 2016 and we wouldn't buy appliances anywhere else in the future. read more

Absolutely horrible experience at this company. I paid for a refrigerator at this company in November, 2022. I was told it would not be available until July, 2023 but I had to pay for it in full for over $14,000. Since the purchase they have delayed the delivery date twice and now the expected delivery date is not until November, 2023 which is the same delay as when I purchased last year.. The salesperson was a total jerk when I complained. Never when I ordered was I advised that the manufacturer was now unreliable and I might not see it delivered until after the second coming. Our washing machine developed a problem, it would tumble for a little and then an error message would appear. We had A1 come by to try to get it fixed. They misdiagnosed the problem 3 separate times, each time charging us money for the repair (but giving us a "discount"). After we had spent over $600, and it was still not working, they decided to ghost us. They don't answer when we call, and they never return the messages. So, we spent most of the cost of a new washing machine, and this one is still doing the same thing it was the first time we called. read more

A-1 Appliance used to be a good place to buy and service appliances. I don't know why, maybe a change in management, but they are no longer to be trusted. We purchased a refrigerator from them 5 years ago. When we went into the store I had an idea of the brands I wanted to consider but the salesman (someone I actually knew from a previous professional relationship) suggested he could give me a great deal on an expensive Electrolux. I told him I had heard bad things about the ice maker. He confirmed that there had been problems but the company had completely re-designed the ice maker and the problems I'd read about were all in the past Getting a $3K fridge for a little more than half price seemed like a good deal and I relied on the salesman. I was wrong on both counts. We had nothing but trouble the with ice maker (and other issues, e.g. excessive noise) and found out after the first service call that while Electrolux had re-designed the ice maker, it could not be installed our model. After four or five more calls over the next few years (at least we had the extended warranty) it failed again last month, and we had a service call outside of warranty. They wanted over $1500 to repair the unit. We bought a Whirlpool from Home Depot instead for $1K. I also heard from a friend of ours this week that he had a similar experience (also the same salesman) with A-1, concerning a washer, i.e. the service call estimate to repair was more than the cost of a new machine. It seems that as I've gotten a little older and more experienced, I'm no longer such a fan of the big box stores and their 'low' prices. My recent range shopping experience took me to the 2 main players in the local bigs, and at one, I spent 10 minutes waiting on someone to come over, and then she wasn't the 'appliance' person, who was out to lunch. At the other, the model I wanted to look at wasn't in stock. At least I got to enjoy watching a few birds fly through the store. They must have slipped into the big box from the garden department. So, I headed over to A-1 Appliance and was thrilled to find a salesman who was friendly, but not pushy, and who could answer all my questions about features and what each brand had going for it. I made my first purchase at A-1 that day, but it won't be my last. I know they don't have the lowest prices on the planet. You pay extra for service, but it sure beats having none. read more

Went in looking for a new range because ours went out. We were promptly greeted by Julie. We were torn between a gas range and induction range. Julie helped us find one that met our needs by showing us several floor models but unfortunately what we want is not available for 2 months. We ended up having to settle for a brand they didn't carry and order from elsewhere, which is why this is not a five star review. So I called A1 on a recommendation of a friend. The folks were friendly enough but my front loader washing machine was dripping water from a line. The earliest time they could get someone out was in a week. Ugh. I took the appointment, left work early and met them for the designated 2h time slot they told me about. The repair guy was nice enough, but holy snap, was it expensive. Getting a valve and a new hose cost over $300. And the repair man said they would have to get them shipped in which would take another week. At this point, I was having visions of my horrifically stinky kids and asked why FedEx couldn't be used. Come to find out, they have heard of FedEx, but they just fail to use them because their techs are too booked out. Which is ridiculous. But what's more ridiculous? That I paid $300 + for a guy to replace a metal bolt and some tubing. And that he did it wrong. Yup....first load of laundry comes out and it is burning hot. The tech had managed to flip the lines so my clothes were being rinsed in burning hot water instead of cold water. Another day home early from work, he fixes it, spills more water on the floor and is 'happy' to tell me he won't be charging. Which is good, cuz I wasn't going to be paying. read more

The only reason I am giving them two stars is because they carry higher end brands that I couldn't find in Nashville showrooms. I personally would never give them my business though after being treated as if I didn't know what I was taking about, and was free to be taken advantage of since I am a woman. I understand there is a "good old boys club" but my family dynamic does not subscribe to that, and I not only do everything in our home, but I also control the finances. I was offended by the gesture and to add insult to injury I was quoted above LIST price for a Dakor cooktop and fan I was ready to buy. I purchased an Asko dishwasher from A-1 appliance in 2013. A-1 did a good job of delivering and installing this dishwasher. HOWEVER, this dishwasher has now been out of service for more than 2 months, and A-1 didn't do anything to expedite my repairs after the problems with the dishwasher snowballed--problems caused by the fact that THEY INSTALLED THE WRONG DOOR SEAL IN MY DISHWASHER. So here's the story: More than 2 months ago, the door seal of this dishwasher began to peel away. I called A-1's service department--we bought a 5-year extended warranty (highly recommended, as I would be PAYING by the visit for this awful service and the various failed parts had we not). A service technician came out a week later. He determined that we needed a new door seal and ordered it, so we waited another week and a half for the part to come. He returned and installed the new door seal. Then the dishwasher began leaking. It turned out the door seal they installed was the WRONG ONE. The short version of this story is that the dishwasher has now not worked for more than 2 months--and, on the 4th service visit, the technician blithely told us that the door seal we needed was back-ordered until November, and, oh, by the way, DON'T TRY TO USE THE DISHWASHER UNTIL IT CAME. Telling me to just wait 4 months for a back-ordered part was the WRONG ANSWER. So I called the Asko FACTORY. The helpful customer representative there quickly determined that A-1 had the WRONG PART for this dishwasher listed in their inventory. A-1 had thus installed a door seal that didn't fit properly, because it wasn't made for my dishwasher. Asko supposedly sent the right part to A-1, although A-1 would not confirm that when I tracked them down by phone. Brian, the slippery customer service manager, said he had "called in a few favors" to get the part I needed, and then seemed slightly embarrassed when I mentioned that I'd called the factory. Let me emphasize here that every conversation over this cluster**** has been initiated by me, as A-1 has not been proactive at all in trying to resolve this problem and get my dishwasher working again. A rubber door seal is not rocket science. The new door seal was installed today--after more than 2 months of no service from this dishwasher. And, guess what: THE DISHWASHER WOULD NOT TURN ON. What appears to have happened is that the steam and water escaping from the incorrect door seal has fried the dishwasher's control panel. I called the factory again. They are overnighting parts to A-1. If A-1 can't fix this dishwasher, Asko has offered me a partial credit to purchase a new one. I think A-1 means well, but Brian--the guy who runs their service department--is never there, he doesn't call to let you know what's going on, I don't think he was entirely truthful to me, he doesn't follow up to make sure things are happening, and I HAD TO FORCE HIM TO ADMIT THAT THE FACT THAT ONE OF HIS SERVICE TECHNICIANS HAD BLITHELY TOLD ME NOT TO USE MY DISHWASHER UNTIL THE BACK-ORDERED PART IT NEEDED SHOWED UP IN NOVEMBER (perhaps in time for Thanksgiving?) WAS A BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE MOVE. I wish I had confidence that other appliance repair departments were more competent and on the ball. But a Sears subcontractor installed a microwave improperly, hooking it up in such a way that the unit was not getting enough power to work, which was a good thing, because otherwise, it might have started a fire. At least A-1 hasn't done anything that might have burned my house down. Yet. read more

I just used A-1 Appliance for a dishwasher repair on a listing of mine and am extremely impressed! The service department was really prompt about returning my calls and they had people out within a day and here is the shocker; the service guys showed up when they said the would! They made very clear notes about the issue and also were great about calling and me with a price in advance so that I could make arrangements for payment easily. All in all, I can't say on price if they are the most inexpensive but their service and quality of technicians are excellent and in the long term that's worth a lot. read more

I called in ahead of time to see if A-1 could fit me in for a microwave repair, and the service technician, Tim, told me to bring it in today so he could take a look at it. Tim met me right away and got to work on my microwave immediately. Witihin 45 minutes, Tim had taken the whole thing apart, successfully diagnosed it, repaired it, and put it back together. Wow! To be clear, I don't think this is a usual turn around time for A-1's service department. I believe I caught them at a good time when they could sneak me in. But the fact that they are willing to go the extra mile in their service when they are able speaks volumes. I give A-1 four stars because although the quality of the service and my overall experience was superb, they charge a flat $40 diagnostics fee for all appliances brought into the store. For many repairs, this is likely to be a bargain, because diagnosing can take a very long time, and these repairmen are highly skilled. However, I believe the diagnostic work for my repair was rather simple (fuse/electrical related) and probably didn't take much time. The repair on my $150 microwave ended up being $32 on top of the diagnostic fee, which included some small parts. All in all, this was a fair price, and my experience with A-1 was good enough that I will definitely come back again. read more

This company has reliably fixed our dishwasher and oven. I see there have been some negative reviews, but we've always had polite and efficient service. Their service fee might appear expensive ($129) but at least it covers the price if there are no parts involved. I also had to wait a week for them to fix our dishwasher, but for me it feels worth it to work with a company that has a good reputation in my mind. Also, their service fee is good for 90 days on the same appliance, even if a different problem comes up. read more

I purchased a new dishwasher, and paid $125 to have it installed. in the installation process, the tech accidentally disconnected the garbage disposal. when I finally figured out what had happened, I called A1, and asked them to come fix it. They told me that it wasn't possible, that the tech said he hadn't touched the garbage disposal. I pulled the dishwasher out myself, and I was correct, he disconnected the garbage disposal. I spent four hours dealing with this. I asked my person at A1 for the $125 back I paid for the installation, since I had to resinstall it myself. it took them about a week, but they refunded the installation charge. read more

I felt like I needed to write a negative review after doing business with A-1 they used to BE GOOD. The problem is that they now hire non qualified people. Their customer service is less than favorable,they elude an air of I don't care and they slow walk through everything, except taking your money. The hidden service charges that they don't tell you about, seems like they nickel and dime you for everything, I understand trying to make a living but really some of these charges are outrageous. The one thing that really disturbs me is they try to sell you those extended warranties, after you purchase appliances.I feel like they are making money on those for sure. I don't feel the owner is upset about the unfavorable reviews, I think he only responds when people have written the unfavorable truth, How about avoiding the bad reviews in the beginning by providing good service, or nipping the problem in the bud.I sure hope with the city growing that there will be more options for us all. read more

I recently purchased a washer and dryer from A1 Appliance. Although they initially delivered the set in a reasonable amount of time, the brand new washer was broken. They sent a service technician out to attempt to fix the machine, but the repair was unsuccessful. At NO point did anyone at A1 apologize for the situation. My salesman, Tom told me I could either have a refund, have a substantial repair on my brand new washer (which would take several days because additional parts would be needed), or they could order a new machine, also taking a number of days. I chose to order a new machine. I have been without a washer for seven days. I have tried several times to contact my sales person, Tom, to check on the status of the order and see when I might expect arrival. After not returning my calls, he finally called today to say the unit is in and they will deliver it tomorrow. I think my delivery should be a priority given the situation. Although I have bought appliances from A1 in the past, I will not be returning. Their customer service is severely lacking. read more

We are remodeling our kitchen and came into their store ready to pick out new appliances. The salesman seemed to be impatient with our questions and got increasingly put out that we didn't know exactly what we wanted within five minutes. Finally, he asked who we were using for our designer. When we told him we were mostly doing it ourselves, he said, "You are Fools for doing it yourselves." Not in a 'ha ha' light hearted kind of way, but in an almost angry way. We thanked him (for calling us fools) and left. It was one of the strangest 'shopping' experiences my wife and I have ever had. Maybe we caught our salesperson on a bad day, but I got the impression the store had a bit of an attitude. read more

We've gone to A-1 Appliance whenever we've needed appliances (which has been quite a few times since we've moved to the city and then back to the country) and the service here is fantastic! We've worked with Julie and the installation guys Ronald and Kevin were the best! They came to install our new microwave about our stove (which previously was just a wall stove on the wall) and they knew exactly what they were doing and now the microwave, stove and trim kit all look perfect! They ALSO saw that the movers didn't install our refrigerator correctly and went ahead and took care of leveling it so it closes now!! Our wall oven/microwave, circa 1978, finally died. Of course, it was not a standard size and quite a bit of carpentry would have to be done to get today's standard size to fit. Thankfully, we found one, a GE, and bought it from A-1. We have bought most of our appliances from A-1 and have never been disappointed. They stand behind their products and repair. They also price match. I want to comment on the installers, Kevin and Mike. Not only did they keep in touch with us about their arrival time, but they did an outstanding job installing the oven combo into a very difficult space. They worked hard and you wouldn't know they'd been here by the time they left (even gave me a bottle of the stainless steel cleaner they use after CLEANING my stainless appliances)! At my aunt's house there were two repairs needed. On one I gave them brand name model and serial number and a clear explanation of the problem. They charged $150 to come out and tell me the part I needed was discontinued and they couldn't fix it. That included two diagnostic charges. I have sent so many people to A1. One of my clients said I should get commission on their $12000.00 sale. All my married children and my daughters web connection has referred A1. Well No more! We purchased a Kitchen aide refrigerator, 3 1/2 years ands it stopped working. they have been to my 5 times in the last month and it still does not work. WE HAVE BEEN A SOLID MOTH WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR. I have missed over 20+ hours of work. So yes it was Thanksgiving with out the refrigerator. They say there is nothing they can do but continue to replace parts. They do Not stand behind what they sell and have ZERO customer service. The Tech has broken a drawer, left off 2 screws and pulled out some type of insulation as he was literally banging on the inside of the unit. They have replaced 6 or more parts and want to continue to do so. I was told "I" need to contact the manufacturer. I was told there is nothing more they can do. They have spent more money in parts and labor than the refrigerator is worth. I cant talk to any one past Mathew, Hello Owner you need to know! We need a new refrigerator! read more
