This is a small store in a small town, and it's not sexy, but it's cool. If you are there when the owner is in, you may smell some lingering cigarette smoke, so if you're super sensitive, be warned. But he has dozens and dozens of grandfather clocks, mantle clocks, wall clocks, and even cuckoo clocks. Years ago, about 23 years ago, my parents had offered my husband and I a cuckoo clock as a gift for our first wedding anniversary. 20-something me laughed at the idea and told them thanks, but no thanks, but now 23 years later I'm thinking it might be fun to have a cuckoo clock, and now we do. I realize this isn't a store for everyone, but even if you are a 20-something who relies on their cell phone for all things time-related, one day you'll appreciate a working clock in your home, and maybe Northside Clocks will still be ticking. Our cuckoo purchase included very clear instructions and a three year warranty, so you never know... we might be back for a grandfather clock one day!
