When you first begin the journey to partnering with her to capture baby's picture- she has a questionnaire you fill out before you arrive. That way she knows what your expectations and desires are. We didnt have a nursery color but i love jewel tones- so thats what we listed. You can also bring family heirlooms or any piece you want baby to be photographed in or with. This is crucial because she has many options, colors, backgrounds etc. Being clear on what you want will help Gladys set her imagination to capture what your heart is expecting. She also issues a paypal invoice that you pay before you show up- that way everything is handled and you can focus on baby during the shoot. The studio is kept at a really nice.m warm temperature and there is even a white noise machine set up running in the background. Through the shoot, our baby was a little fussy- Gladys magically swaddled, sang to her, rocked her all while arranging our baby girl in perfect poses in wonderful basket/ beanbag set ups with gorgeous jewel tone colors. It was exactly what i asked for and expected. We even got a few pictures of my husband and i holding baby-- extra family shots thrown in. Gladys goes above and beyond to communicate clearly what to expect, every step that she is doing with baby so you know whats going on with your precious one. Everything is professionally handled and awesome! You get the digital copies so you can choose to print out as many copies or sizes as you wish. A few things I was looking for were: bright, natural-looking photos within a certain price range. Julia reached out quickly and with a comprehensive overview of how we could work together. We set a date and location, made a deposit, and showed up for the shoot. Super easy. Throughout the session, Julia made us feel comfortable (and less awkward) and made great recommendations for how to pose or stand. My husband mentioned how he could see the difference from the way she guided us through the poses. Also loved the time of day that was recommended (just as the sun was setting) because our photos came out so beautiful with the glow from the sun setting. We received previews within a week and finals a few weeks after. I was reluctant to go with prints but so glad we did because the quality really is noticeable compared to Costco or Walgreens. She was positive and encouraging throughout the shoot, and gave clear, helpful guidance on posing, where to look, and what to do with your hands and arms. The difference between the preview photos and the final edits was incredible. I was unsure about a few shots at first, but she told me to trust her and she was right. The final online photo gallery came surprisingly fast, just two days later. I'd love to do it again in ten years when I'm nearing 50, because I know she'll make me look amazing then too.

Disappointing Maternity & Newborn Photoshoot Experience…read more We had a very disappointing experience across both our maternity and newborn photoshoots. For the maternity session, there was no proper pre-discussion about locations or outfits. We were simply asked to choose from previously taken images, which felt impersonal. During the shoot, the session felt rushed, and the photographer appeared disengaged, as if they wanted to finish early. From a 2-hour session, we could barely select around 10 usable images, which reflects the overall quality. We also noticed technical issues with the camera, including frequent error messages during burst shots. For the newborn session, we had informed them in advance that we would be about 30 minutes late due to our baby's doctor appointment. Despite this, one of the planned props was removed, which felt inflexible given the circumstances. There was also a significant delay of about four weeks beyond the expected timeline in delivering the edited images, without clear communication or accountability. After delivery, communication continued to be frustrating. We received emails indicating additional charges if image selections were not made within 30 days, which felt pressured--especially considering the delay in delivery was on their side. At the same time, when we requested a re-edit for one of the selected images, we had to follow up multiple times and did not receive timely responses. Additionally, some comments made during the newborn shoot were uncomfortable and inappropriate. Remarks about the baby's skin tone and comments regarding the mother's feeding choices were hurtful and unexpected, especially for a one-month-old baby. We expected a much more respectful and sensitive environment. There was also no prior discussion about props for the newborn shoot -- only a couple of setups were pre-arranged, and we felt limited to those options. Similar to the maternity shoot, the overall photography quality did not meet expectations. From a 1.5-hour session, we could barely select around 15 images, and the editing felt very basic, with some images appearing minimally edited. Given our experience, the overall service felt unprofessional, inflexible, and lacking in quality. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments, and we expected a much more thoughtful, skilled, and supportive experience. Also, please don't go based on Instagram followers alone -- our experience did not reflect the expectations set by their online presence. If you are looking for a photographer who communicates well, provides guidance, and creates a comfortable and enjoyable session -- especially with a newborn -- this may not be the right fit.
