The landscaping is well taken care of but inside does not smell so fresh. The steps are steep and intimidating. I don't like heights. The Security Officers were very nice and helpful. The Gentleman explained to be where I needed to go. He was also friendly when I asked him questions. There's a small Museum to the left. It was pretty busy. I saw a kid doing a book report for class, along with a few other visitors. I ran into a Police Officer and he told me where to go too. The ladies in the office went the extra mile to help. Parking was near by. You just scan and pay. I saw two Brides getting their Bridal Portraits. It was such a nice moment. The fourth floor has a colorful Rotunda that many people enjoy seeing. This is definitely a unique Courthouse with lots of pictures inside. I would definitely recommend this courthouse.

I joined the department in 1993 and formally left in 2001, but still periodically visit. This is a…read moregreat example of what can come from humble beginnings. The department started many years ago, has persevered through a few changes, and is now a premiere example of what can be accomplished when people care about their community. The department has over 50 members currently and is responsible for Fire and Ambulance Service to at least half of the area surrounding Eagle Mountain Lake. The department also provides ambulance service to a large portion of Northwest Tarrant County. Members consist of professional firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, and other volunteers who graciously give their time and energy to support the community. They provide an integral component to the health care system with mobile intensive care unit and rescue capabilities. Went here today to get a new library card and check out a book. As I stepped in I instantly felt…read morewelcomed and relaxed. I went to the first counter and told the lady that I was there for a new library card and she asked me for my id or something with my address on it. I told her that I had a picture of an envelope with my name on it and she said unfortunately they could not accept this. She was so nice about it and told me that they are open until 9pm. I was able to find something with my address on it and I returned. I was able to get my library card and I went to the information desk and asked if they had the books on my list. Both of the ladies behind the counter were so nice and helpful. Unfortunately none of the books I wanted were available, but they were at other locations. The awesome ladies recommended a few, but I had either read them or they were not available. I ended up checking out their rows and rows of non fiction and fiction books. I finally decided on a Liane Moriarity book. I told the ladies what I decided and they were so nice and supportive about my choice. I used their self check out, which I love and checked out their community wall. They have tons of activities and events going on at the library and online. With your library card you can get tons of free e-books.

Connecting Dallas with West Dallas over the Trinity River, the Ronald Kirk Bridge was completed in…read more1933 and then known as the Lamar-McKinney Viaduct. It was initially a vehicle bridge but fell into disrepair. Rather than demolish it, or spend the money to bring it back to code to support vehicles, it was reopened in 2014 as a pedestrian bridge. Today, it is more than that. It's a park with a playground, lounge chairs, a human-sized chess board and walking/cycling paths. It was renamed after the city's first African-American mayor in 2016, Ronald Kirk (1954- ). There is parking nearby on Gulden Lane next to the Felix Lozada Sr. Gateway.
