This location is on the smaller side with a small amount of parking spaces. Even though it's located in Fort Worth this library has a small town feel to it. There's a nice brick courtyard nearby surrounded by shade trees, it looks really nice over there. The Ella Mae Shamblee location has a much smaller book selection that a lot of the other branches but I really liked their biography section a lot. There aren't many desks, armchairs and computer stations like at some of the other locations.

My one-star rating is due to the customer service I received during my recent visit. I had several…read moreitems on hold that needed to be retrieved from the back. The staff member repeatedly stated that my items were not available simply because they were not on the shelves, even though they were in fact being held for me. Another staff member later came out to add items to the shelves. I located all of my items immediately, which confirmed that the holds were indeed there. After retrieving my items, the employee stated I could check them out and directed me to handle the checkout myself. I refused to walk over to scan my card and check myself out. Especially, while I'm standing directly in front of an employee who has refused to get up once to look for my items or assist me in a timely manner. Given the circumstances, I expected at least a basic level of service. I have been a patron of the Fort Worth Public Library for many years. I've never had an issue with a staff member until now. This was my first interaction with this particular staff member. If she is assigned to this branch location, I hope she learns to be more professional!

Yet it was something about the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce that makes me feel so welcome that I keep returning back to it more often than the others. Located on the 9th floor of The Fort Worth Club building on Taylor St and in front of the Morningstar Oil & Gas building, the FWCC has a historic undergirding within the DFW area as well as being a highly relevant entity within Fort Worth. Every time I come in here to purchase business reference materials, I am treated as if I'm family from the staff of Betty Harvey, Christina G., and several others. Further, it seems as if the FWCC is always either hosting or sponsoring a local event. This chamber certainly stays busy! Individual yearly business memberships are comparable to that of other chambers in major cities: usually around $400-500. As for parking here, there is a heavy valet service presence in the front of The Fort Worth Club building, yet I think that there is self-parking on the other side. If not, you can always park on the road either within a paid parking lot or metered parking, which is somewhat reasonable (12 minutes for every $0.25).

Well, the visit to the TRVA got me excited about where Fort Worth is going, and made me want to be here when it all comes to fruition. My bf and I use the Trinity Trails for cycling a lot, and it was nice to see how the trails will continue to improve, and how some businesses will make the trails as part of their business model - like the Woodshed. If you have a group of folks who are interested in hearing someone tell you about what's going on, give a call-ahead and they'll set your group up with someone to tell you all about it. It's well lit and with a lot of natural light and open space. It's neatly organized and well noted with descriptions of what your looking for.. there is spacious parking outside. The bathroom was clean, nice, roomy and not cramped lol. They are social distancing and everyone entering is required to wear a mask. They have hand sanitizer available if needed. The lines are moving steadily for the early voting. We've been here since 8:15 am so it's not bad. They have plenty of helpful volunteers and workers to help with whatever question or concerns you may have.
