As we were entering the store a guy standing by the entrance asked if we were truck drivers and then asked if we had any free showers on our rewards card and if he could have one. Entering the store, I noticed that it is a much smaller Flying J than what I'm used to. It did have the usual snacks, soup, hotbox, deli, drinks..it also had vehicle merch., shirts, crystal ornaments, caps and other such items. So you could shop a little. There was a messy discount bin in one of the main aisles and the drivers lounge is filled with boxes of merchandise. We ate at the Denny's inside this establishment and got a drink to go at the Flying J. The cashier waved us over to her register then completely ignored us when we was talking to her. My husband asked for a receipt and she was already waving over another customer. Ring em' up and move em' out kind of thing here. I didn't appreciate that at all.

I used to come into this location religiously as I lived across the road, but after the interaction with the woman who is working the cash register right now, I don't ever wanna come back here. And unfortunately it seems that her very unprofessional and downright crappy attitude was possibly over her frustration with your checkout system not working and the customer in front of me having to go out and get cash to finish his transaction (she wasn't very nice to him either). The technology is not the problem of the customer. And she is absolutely taking it out on your customers. Maybe something to look into or maybe she's just having a bad day. They have great food specials, especially in their newer, larger stores (full grills and pizza ovens) and they always have a great ice-cold beer cave with good prices on beer. I really only ever come to Maverik to get gas for all my vehicles. I am a member of their "Adventure Club Nitro" which is more or less a credit card which links to your bank account. So using the card instead of your debit card at the pump scores you 6 cents of per gallon which doesn't sound like a lot, but when you are filling up a truck, a car, a motorcycle and occasionally a boat, it adds up! You also get punch cards built in to your Adventure Club card so that when you have purchased 10 coffees or 10 fountain drinks or certain food items, you get one free. As long as you use the card to pay or when you pay, it tracks it! Overall, Maverik is a great place to gas up, shop for drinks or snacks or grab a coffee!

The fountain drinks have a delightful balance of syrup and carbonation, very much appreciated on a hot summer day. They have the usual snacks and candy, plus hot nuts, a small ice cream bar and cold juices, sodas and beer. The staff is wonderfully surly and kind. Friendly and fearsome at the same time. But o-m-g the bathrooms...the horror...the sludge... I'm nine months pregnant so toilets any and everywhere are vitally important to me. After waiting in a line 5 people deep, and some rotten individual hogging the ladies room for at least 20 minutes, I followed the lead of everyone else and used the men's room. Let's put it this way: the bathroom that Ewan McGregor's character uses near the beginning of Trainspotting looked cleaner. The cuff of my pants was unknowingly filtering up the aforementioned sludge and left me sickened beyond description. I'm going to assume this was a worst case scenario sort of situation that only happens on a really busy weekend with really inconsiderate bathroom-goers...but still...what's worse, someone sent their pre-teen daughter in there just before me. I have purchased food and used the restroom here before to which she told me I'm a liar. She told me no gas stations in the area had public restrooms and she did not have to let us use the BR. She yelled at us to leave the property or she would call the cops. She then verbally assaulted my friend who was visiting from Oklahoma, saying "I've see you in here before get off my property or I'll call the cops" My friend is Native American and felt she was attacked due to race, as I was not in the store when she asked to use the BR. She also yelled at 2 bicyclist because they spoke to us as we left. I contacted the Sherif who was on patrol. He was not shocked.... I WILL CONTINUE TO PURSUE THIS BUSINESS WITH COMPLAINTS. Gina is the manager and one of the worst people I've ever encountered. There is a campground with services just up the road who has great customer service....... BTW I'm local and have been here many times but will NEVER be back
