I wishedI known about Kelley's before. They are rruthlessly honest. Of ccourse they are a business and not shop is 100% at anything, but for all my needs, they are very ery good. I was F'd by meinekee for years. They paid 4900.00 buck for a catalytic converrter at Menekee in SIlver Spring. They did nto ensure that the tthe converter had an adequate mount. It worked for my pollution test but failed shortly afterward with obvious CO smell. They never owned up to their error and had me chase the problem spending mmuch more money. They would not replace the converrter. I finally had a local mechanic check it and he found their was no mount and that a liquid polymer like seal was used which failed latter. I was sucking up Carbon monooxide for about 9 months risking a stroke. They just could not own up to the issue and repair and the problem and een wanted me to spend another $700 bucks on another one and refused to fix the original converter due to 6 month or year warantee dispite shoddy work. Kelley's replaced the improperly mounted unit and the tail pipe and they are known for cost competive sollutions for converters. I was very satisfied. They may error in suggesting minimal or conserative sollutions, but that is practical and considerate to the owner of an old car. Independent mechanics and shops are a must. They are not under pressure to get you out fast and trick you. ALso Tires Plus aligned my car, but said I needed $1,400.00 in fixes, yet they left a spark plug loose and a oil dip stick not fully inserrted properly resulting in check engine light. Was it a mistake or intentional? Be wary of chains. Go to shops like Kelly's. Also with old cars replace battery connectors for checck engine lights before going to repairman -- they often do nto check that simple $9 DIY repair. read more

I love these guys!!!!!! No really, you have no idea!!!! I have a 03 Dodge Dakota with the infamous 4.7 Magnum engine, and if you know about that motor, you know how the exhaust manifolds roll. If you don't know, I will tell you, they rust like hell. Worst of all, except for one shop that had 20 torn apart cars sitting in the lot, NOBODY wanted to touch that truck. That included the dealer too. See, one little oops removing the bolts outta the heads would lead to a world of headache and frustration for who ever was working on it!!!! Hell, I am trained and know how to work on cars and I sure as heck didn't want to touch it. One shop that didn't want to touch it sent me to Kelleys and they took on the challenge. Now, I'm not gonna lie, they kept my truck alot longer than they said they were going to, but when I got my truckie back, she was purring like a kitten. So much so, I started to miss the loud but exhaust fart my beast was letting out. LOL, that was the summer of 2017 and she is still purring. I'm going to take her back to get duals in the not too distant future. So, attention all Mopar owners with leaking exhaust, give these guys a call. Glad I did!!!! read more

I had a great experience with Kelly's. Ten months ago I brought my 2005 Lexus 430 to the Lexus dealer and was given an estimate of $6,200 for work on my car. I asked around and was referred to Kelley's shop. I took my car in and gave Kevin the dealer's list of repair. An hour later he came back and told me I only need one item on the long list. For the rest of the items, until the warning lights go on, I should not spend money to fix something I don't need. He arranged to get the part for my car and the total bill was $900. The car passed inspection with flying color and since then I have been back for oil change, break replacement, new battery and the original work they did 10 months ago is still good. Everyone at Kelly's from the front desk to the staff in the service area are nice as can be. They do a great job and don't over charge you. They fix what needs to be done, no more, no less. This is not a fancy shop, it is a true auto shop and a good one. There no internet, no fancy customer's lounge, no car loaner, but what they save you, you can take a 2 week vacation in Europe and more. So I would rather take the 2 week vacation in Europe! L. This morning I drove an hour to this business for a noise in my exhaust, within 15 minutes I was called back to review my vehicle with a service tech, my truck was already on the rack and had been diagnosed. The options for repair were clearly presented and he even brought out two different mufflers and explained them both to me, my Magnaflow had broken baffles and needed to be replaced, I chose to replace it with a Flowmaster 70 series and about 90 minutes later I was on my way. Everyone from the first person that greeted me and took my info, the technician and the lovely girl that signed me out were all very pleasant and professional. The reason I didn't get a local shop was because that magnaflow was installed local and they did some horrible looking work on the connection from the muffler to the tail pipe and several local shops said they would do it the same way, Kelly's removed that fiasco and replaced the section with the proper materials, I would and will recommend this business to anyone looking for exhaust, custom upgrades or wheels. This was my second visit to Kelly's. The first visit (in 2019) i had work done on my Muffler. The experience was good, so i went back on 6/11/2020 and let Nui (both times he worked on my car) look at my car...it was making a whistling noise. Nui took the car for a drive, couldn't hear the noise, which comes and goes, then took the wheels off to find the issue. He called me back where the cars were and let me know my options, which were to change my rotors or wait because they still had a bit of thread on them. There were some ridges on the front rotor that could be causing the whistling noise. In this field there are a lot of Mechanics that try to pull one over on woman. We will wait until the noise becomes louder. Reason being, there is still thread on the rotors. He suggested that i drive a little longer so we can be sure this is the issue. I will probably end up bringing the car back in the next couple of weeks to have the rotors changed because i can't take the whistling noise. Thank you Nui. See you soon. Rhonda read more

My wife and I got a call from the dealership about a very costly repair after we had taken it in just to have a routine recall service taken care of. We had not experienced any problems with the car and have had it for two years. Since we didn't have several THOUSAND dollars lying around, we reached out to Kevin on a recommendation from a family member. Within a day, Kevin got back to us with an honest estimate and saved us a TON of money. He explained why the dealership did what they did and what they saw versus what he saw. Kevin also said as far as he knew, he fixed the issue and if we have any problems or concerns in the future, to call him and bring it right back. It is so hard to find an honest mechanic or technician anymore. I am a DIY guy who loves taking things apart and repairing them but with two kids, I don't always have the time anymore. Excellent work! I came in with an exhaust system that was rusted and falling apart. I went to the dealer where the price started at $700, then somehow changed to $1400... Went to Kelley's on a reference from another auto mechanic. Kelley's drove my car in, had a technician walk me under the car to show me exactly what the problem was. He then gave me the price it would cost to fix it and the man hours. Kelley's met the estimated time. The place is a hidden gem. O, and the price, it was below $700. read more

The review is based on price; I paid less than two-thirds what either of two chains want to charge for two lengths of pipe, a resonator, and a muffler, installed, plus a weld to the catalytic converter hanger. It is also based on speed; it took longer, total, for the other two shops to give me estimates than it took Kelley's to do the job. I got home and got a call that it would be ready in 20 minutes. Excellent place to have your car worked on. I had my mufflers done here last month and they sound great. Yesterday I stopped by and although they seemed very busy, I got my new pioneer dvd player and my windows tinted. As I was waiting I noticed they had a rim sale and found a set of 20"s for 500 that fit my Denali. I think I will be going back to get them on Saturday. Kelley's does great work. Took five of my friends to get custom work on there BMW's and each time it was better then the last. Finally got my muffler delete done this time and I'm so happy with the sound and performance. They are so professional and really do quality work.
