Two years later and we have several loose tiles and cracked grout throughout the living room. (Which all happened within a few months of them finishing and is a result of the original crew using the wrong kind of grout and not enough thin set when laying the tiles.) The work the second crew did is solid and holding strong. But there is just so much to fix from the original crew's work. At this point I've lost hope that it will ever be done. I've come to accept the reality that we will likely end up dealing with it as is. Which is really depressing considering how much money we forked out for this job, even with the discount they gave us. Also, we all have hearing damage from the loud tools used. (Think so loud you can't hear yourself yell.) We used hearing protection as much as possible, but you know how kids are with keeping stuff like that on. And my Autistic kiddos are a bit traumatized from the sensory overload. We had already spent as much time staying elsewhere as we could afford. But when a job unexpectedly takes that long...we had no choice but to stay in the house for a good chunk of time.
