Oh this place is such gem and I am always astounded by how helpful the staff is -- they provided a list of favorite home service providers when we bought our house and did not know anyone, stayed open a little later when we needed something specific that took some time, and even followed us back home with their larger vehicle when we bought something that did not fit in our car. I have a policy that I always go to Kelloggs & Lawrence BEFORE I go to one of the big box hardware stores. The advice I get saves me time and money. Recently, I forgot my policy and I went to a big store in order to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. There was no one in the plumbing department to assist me and I ended up getting the wrong parts. Then I went to K & W, showed them a picture of the problem and they talked me through my options and made sure I left the store with parts and knowledge to fix the leak. We just moved to Katonah a week ago and have already stopped into this institution about 7 times since. It's got everything! Shower plug, keychains, basketballs, footballs, towel racks, rain boots and more. And it's such a good old fashioned testament to the history of Katonah, from its Whitlockville beginnings to the tenacity of the locals in moving their homes with their own hands. Historic photographs fill the walls and there's even a bell you can ring to be helped if you're downstairs. read more

Stopped in the other day and felt thrown back to a by gone era. An absolutely charming store with every hardware item imaginable coupled with a huge selection of outdoor clothing. I was in the store Christmas and was able to find the most unique and wonderful stocking stuffers and gifts for my extended family. Everything from an expandable back scratcher (which was the hit item Christmas morning) to a new tree stand, topped off by the most exquisite Marmot winter coat, Worth the trip...even if its just for the free peanuts located in a large barrel by the front door. read more
