I realize the items are high-end, but the prices are a bit ridiculous. Online prices are definitely lower. The atmosphere isn't as fabulous as the items. You are all "sales clerks", not associated with the brands. A welcome atmosphere goes a long way in retail. read more

Wow. There is a female with grey hair who works in this store and is incredibly rude. I ordered an item from The RealReal online that had an inaccurate title and description of the item. This store refused to accept the return, and I was told that the item was "correctly labeled". It was if they thought that I was trying to pull fast one on them. Nope, denim and linen are not the same and their attitude was disrespectful. Highly recommend you do not buy anything from this company. Their item descriptions do not necessarily reflect what you will receive. To the business owner - the customer service "chat" is incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of time. No one was able to understand the situation. The fact that you even recommend people use that as a next step when they have legitimate issues is insulting. read more

Be very careful if you consign items and review their assessment. I purchased a 2 ctw tennis bracelet and re-consigned it 6 months later, along with all original appraisal paperwork. They were listing it as 1.3 ctw. I called them on it and I am still waiting for them to "review" it. My experience has been that their descriptions are not always accurate. read more

I love the real real, they have great finds. The plus side is that most of the items you buy are from stores that are located on Greenwich Ave, so if you need extra coins this is place where you should go to get the most out of the items that you sell, and you could buy things there or on the TRR app. I sold a necklace and was happy with my commission check. read more

The positive reviews for this store puzzle me. Every interaction I had selling my goods was problematic. Rude sales people, ruder customer service, l ost checks, delayed checks, checks sent to the wrong address.... If memory serves, it took almost 12 months to be paid for every item of mine which they sold within the first three months of my having dropped them off. Not a fan. Will never return and cannot recommend. read more

Wonderful experience here from top to bottom. I walked into a very lovely curated store with a wonderful selection. I found the prices to be reasonable and lots of nice deals. Every single employee greeted me warmly and kindly. Alexandra in particular went out of her way to give me a warm welcome and was very patient and complimentary while I took my time looking at every piece of jewelry I was interested in. Absolute nightmare, consigning with this establishment. This store in particular, where I took my goods, took in six items to be sent for valuation. One of the items was a Valentino bag that they clearly say on their website is a brand that they take. In fact, this store took the brand. By the time it got to, the valuation stage they rejected it because they said they did not take the brand. It has been several months after the rejection and I still have yet to have two of my three items that were rejected returned to me. Furthermore of the items that I had brought in for consignment, they rejected because they said the sneakers were altered. This, despite the fact that I had purchased them from The RealReal. I had worn them maybe twice and I have no clue what they're talking about that the sneakers were altered. Clearly an excuse not to take the good in. The Real Real is probably a good place to buy but definitely a terrible place to sell!! I brought several clothing items to the location in Greenwich, Connecticut, a gorgeous almost new full length mink coat and a beaded gown with a jacket. For a reason that I didn't understand the gown and matching jacket were put up for sale as two separate pieces. The prices asked were ridiculously low. Then reduced and reduced again. I ended up receiving an embarrassingly low check, which wasn't worth the gas it took to get to the store! But even worse was the abominable insult of what the magnificent mink was sold for. I also brought a bridal gown which was in the box that it was preserved in but they wouldn't take it because they didn't see a label. Despite the fact that it was bought at Kleinfelds and was in perfect condition that didn't matter.I sure wish I had spoken to someone who had sold with The Real Real because I NEVER would have brought anything to them. Whoever bought the items I brought in got fantastic deals. I have learned my lesson. I will NEVER have anything to do with that company again and would NEVER recommend it to anyone! read more

I purchased a pair of Robert Clergerie brand new shoes. The box was this brand, the shoe inside was a Rachel Comey boot, I was also told it was men's. I don't have time for this. Since I had not immediately opened the box, it was past the return window. I sent them to Linda's stuff to sell. Love Linda's Stuff btw ! I consigned a Baccarat necklace, they sent it back broken. They have not responded to my requests to reimburse me. I bought a LV pochette, brand new from them, and reconsigned it immediately as bags are not returnable, and it was smaller than it was re-resented as...they gave it a "good" rating upon reconsigning, their lowest category and I lost $300 on the immediate sale (an inside job??). They still have not responded to my emails and calls. i purchased diamond studs, my jeweler appraised these $8000 earrings which I purchased for $2000 at under $200. I returned it at my cost to The RealReal. I'm done. read more

Terrible experience with a sales person in Greenwich store. I didn't catch her name but she has gray hair. The background is that I purchased 2 rings for + $1,000 on 12/23. At the time of purchase I asked the sales person (the same person who is the subject of this note) if the rings could be returned if they didn't fit. She knew it was a gift for my wife. At the time, I was told yes the rings could be returned without any qualification. By the way we spent more than $3,000 that day. I just tried to return the rings today (1/14) at the Greenwich store (where purchased) and was first (rudely) told they had no record of the sale because they couldn't find the email receipt they sent me. I then showed the sales person the email receipt. She told me that any returns had to be within 14 days. I reminded her that when I made the purchase she told me they were returnable and that she never said anything about a 14 day limit. She didn't deny that she failed to do that. I also told her the receipt didn't mention any 14 day return policy. Nonetheless the salesperson wouldn't take the return. She actually offered us an opportunity to re-consign it. Absolutely ridiculous experience with a rude and condescending sales person. Pick another location and hopefully the Real Real picks better employees. read more
