Before I went into the store, I called and was told I didn't need an appointment.I was coming in from out of town. The lady on the phone was very dismissive and unconcerned. I went to the store several days later and was given a reasonable wait time. While browsing, a man, whom I now know is the owner, approached my friend and said he heard me ask about getting measured for a bra and wanted to make sure I was going to buy one. REALLY? What an utterly rude and base inquiry. Couldn't you think of anything better to say to a potentially new customer? The customer service is just awful - very self impressed crew. I left immediately and did very well elsewhere. Stay away!

Plus the shop keeper, Gail, was incredibly helpful and easy to get in touch with questions about the gifts I was interested in. I wish more stores has such terrific customer service and products!

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I consigned a Prada bag with this company over the summer, originally priced at $1,795. When I asked for it to be returned because the price seemed low, I later resubmitted the same bag in November (I never used it between July and November). To my shock, it sold the same day for $745 - a massive $1,000 difference from the original quote! The bag was resubmitted in the exact same condition with no additional wear as posted by the Real Real, so there's no reason it shouldn't have been priced near the original $1,700 range. This isn't the first time I've had an issue like this. Previously, an item I consigned was posted and sold within hours for an unusually low price, only to later find out it was an employee who marked it down and bought it themselves. Despite being a VIP member, I've had to follow up multiple times without any response from the company. The lack of transparency and professionalism is appalling. I will never do business with this company again and am now pursuing action through small claims court. Buyers and consignors, beware - this is not the trustworthy service they claim to be! read more

I recently had two experiences at The RealReal in Greenwich, and both were memorable for different reasons. The first time, Alexandra helped me with the purchase of a Kelly Retourné 35 and a matching Twilly--she was absolutely lovely and made the process smooth. More recently, I wanted a special gift--combining a birthday, Valentine's, and professional milestone. Alexandra kindly arranged transfers of several bags for me to see. Unfortunately, one sold mid-transit, which was disappointing. But when I arrived, Brian, the store manager, stepped in. The day after President's Day, he was phenomenal--patient, knowledgeable about Hermès, helped with my store credit inquiry, and made everything perfect. TOTAL SCAM DO NOT BUY OR SELL WITH THIS COMPANY. They claim to offer 50% of your first sale and that was a total lie. They sell and keep 85% of the profit and send you a just a few dollars. This woman Julie Wainwright is getting rich by taking advantage of women across America. They need a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the women whom they have taken advantage of and should be put out of business. Better Business Bureau has over 1500 complaints about them. read more

I had more items but we decided to schedule a later date to drop off for the rest. Both Dina and Nicole seemed really nice and friendly. They told me I'd receive an emailed item list in a little bit. Several weeks went by and still no list so I called. I spoke with Nicole on 3/31 who told me that her mother-in-law (Dina) was supposed to have done it and will get her to do it "now". She also told me at that time that I had made over $100 and again, how much they "LOVED" everything. Weeks go by again and still no item list. Dina then calls on 4/27 to reschedule our next appointment to a later date. I say sure but I'm still waiting for my item list (everything is still amicable at this point). Dina then turns and starts getting hostile. She told me she sent the list already and to check my junk mail, to which I replied I have and it's not there so can you please send it again. She said she did already and fought me on just resending it. I also asked how much money I have in my account at this point thinking it should be more than the $100 I was told in March. She said it's $75. When I ask how that's possible she couldn't give me an answer and got even more angry with me. My response was this is horrible customer service, and again please send my item list. That night I get an email saying they no longer want to consign my items. I tell them I agree, now can you please send my item list. The emails went back and forth for days with them refusing to give my item list. I finally received it on May 2nd! They then tell me I need to pick up my items immediately or they will donate them. This place is a scam. I don't know what it's like to shop there but consigning with them is a NIGHTMARE!!

Last week, I purchased a pair of Dolce and Gabbana heels for $100, on sale from $200. Three days later I wore the heels for the first time, to a wedding. After 40 minutes of standing and walking in the shoes, the heel separated entirely from the sole of the shoe. This morning I brought the heels to the shop and asked Zofia, the owner, for either a refund or store credit. I explained how the heels broke. She turned her back to me and strode over to the counter, picked up a sign that said "All sales are final" and held it up to my face for me to read. When I protested that she had sold me a defective product, she launched into a tirade, comparing her store to Neiman Marcus. I understand that Zofia's store policy is to protect her from people who change their mind about a purchase, or who try to return something after they wear it. However, an expensive consignment store should stand behind their merchandise, and should treat their customers with respect, or - at the very least - decency. I write this review not to air a grudge, but to warn future customers that they risk purchasing broken items at this shop, and that any attempt to return those items will be met with derision and scorn.

She is precise with her policy, both as a buyer and seller, and sticks to her guns (I personally like that, know what to expect). I brought in some items and she was thorough in her examination, turning away several items due to stains or because she felt her clientele would not go for it (even though it was a name brand, she explained that her clients were more reserved). I will definitely be going back regularly to check out her merchandise and will recommend friends to go as well.
