Our Mom passed in August 2024 and Nordgren was naturally our first choice. We made all of the plans with Katherine. This business is exactly that, a business. There is no warm feel, no compassion, no sincerity. What we expected versus what we got was a huge sad contrast. If you want a quick, cold transaction, this is the place for you. Unfortunately funerals are paid prior to the service and when we voiced concerns after the fact, we were met with excuses and no accountability. Highly disappointing.

This is the place she used when planning the two biggest deaths in her life, her Mom and her husband. I sat down with Katherine (owner) and explained what type of service we wanted for our mom. She assured us that she could provide us with the service. (a simple one hour private service followed by a graveside service with a pastor) We didn't question the cost and she was paid that day in full. We did not receive what we requested. When I approached Katherine at the gravesite, she was cold and unbothered. We followed up via email the following week with our concerns and received a phone call from her daughter where we were brushed off again. No empathy, no apologies. She got her money and that was that. This is a hard pill to swallow since we wanted to do right by my mother's last request. Please reconsider using her funeral service because you can't undo what was done. There are no repercussions for her actions.

Mr. Michael Farrow explained every step of the process, service selection, and even gave us options for the Mercy Meal after the service. If was if if he knew my father and the care and respect showed was greatly appreciated. Michael also helped us schedule the services as to not impact the family due to other services scheduled around the same time. Our father looked amazing and at peace, they did an amazing job--everyone was impressed. We were never rushed. We were able to make changes during the process as well with no issues or questions. Mercadante's also has kept in touch after the services were completed, this was not expected; yet welcomed as it has been helping us during the healing process. They also handled all the paperwork for his certificate of death, social security, etc. Everyone was professional, caring, and understanding--as I stated, they treated us like "family" from start to finish. They called me someone else name when they called me to make funeral arrangements and said they were scattered from several funerals. Wow. Really WOW. I'm was scattered from losing the love of my life unexpected from a heart attack. And I'm supposed to be focused and double check their work.
