Kelly Grimsley Honda is now closed, I purchased a 2019 Denali Pickup from them 10/02/2024.........its been over 7 months, no title yet, they never filled out the proper transfer forms.......in addition they kept the sales taxes I paid which was $500 and never sent it to my home state of SC. They never sent the plate transfer fee to my home state of SC. The dealer was sold and supposedly the info was transferred to their Kelly Grimsley KIA dealership, they are no help. The dealership is a total scam, they do not pay off trade-ins, they do not put extended warranty contracts on their sold units leaving people who paid for that warranty without any. They ruin people's credit by not making the payoff of the trade in to the lender. Allegedly there is a Federal Investigation They need to all be tried and convicted for conspiracy to defraud the public, larceny, grand larceny, they need to be charged under the RICO act. Bought a car from their Honda dealer ship, took them months to pay off my trade in even though I've been making payments on my car I bought from them, I still have yet to receive my license plates and anytime I've tried to call them about either issue I always got sent to their Kia location and different departments and different voicemail and never got a return car. Horrible!!! My vehicle has been here almost two and a half months and still has not been fixed. The service department is a complete JOKE no one ever answers the phone and when you do get ahold of someone they don't have an answer. Uugghh! I traded by Equinox for a Highlander. Took over 5 hours, though actual trade took less than 15 minutes. Then.......after inquiring when my trade in refund would be ready, I was assured it would be by 930 next morning. I asked if it is not gonna happen can someone please call. Ma'am, we will make sure it is here. Arrive at 1030 next morning, first off, I was initially ignored. Then when Tristan noticed, said to my face....oh there was an emergency will be another couple hours. WTH! I was livid. Check was to be generated by 8th St location, so I called to make an inquiry. Come to find out, no emergency, the dealership just dropped the ball. After I completed my call, my salesperson, Montana, came out to my car to tell me to stop calling 8th St. Scolded me like a child. Now, no longer lived, I am furious. I make my way to 8th street to speak with Brandon Grimsley, made multiple attempts, nothing. Well while at 8th street, my check magically appears at Honda location. Drive back, salesperson, hands me check. End of story? Nope...... Receive a letter via email from Brandon, thanking me for my car purchase, and how they were glad I was satisfied. WTH! I own two identical Honda Elements, 04 and 07, and both require clutch replacement (both have the same symptom) . Element 2007 went to Gillman Honda in Richmond TX. Element 2004 went to Kelly Grimsley in Odessa TX. Element 2007 was fixed with a clutch kit plus associated labor cost, never mentioning any transmission replacement. Kelly Grimsley's service advisor wanted me to replace the whole transmission. And he quoted me $1500 for a salvaged LKQ transmission alone, in addition to bushing, clutch, pressure plate and associated labor. Needless to say, I paid $165 as it was classified as inspection fee and took the car to Christian Brothers in Midland. My final cost covers a clutch kit, flywheel, transmission oil and Christian Brothers' labor, which is SUBSTANTIALLY LOWER than what I have been told at Kelly Grimsley. I have been driving manual transmission for a very long time (30+ years), and I know the replacement of transmission is completely uncalled for. There are ignorant people in this world, but I'm not one of them. I'm sorry, Kelly Grimsley! read more

Initially everything started out smoothly, til we began discussing numbers. I had a monthly payment in mind that I wanted to stay close to and the first offer from sales person was nearly DOUBLE!....Okay no big deal right? Just keep negotiating? Then I was told my credit report would be pulled just ONCE, until the banks began pulling it...okay fine. Couldn't come to terms on any vehicles so I attempted to leave several times. These guys smothered me, manager even had my keys in his office after they appraised it, so I couldn't leave without asking for my keys back first. Then they kept trying to shove deals down my throat. Finally after about 3-4 hours of wasted time and As I am leaving the lot I receive notification that my credit report was run a 2nd time!!! Definitely not returning as well as filing complaints with BBB and the FTC. Don't waste your time here. read more

I went several times to look at a nice truck I seen. Every time I would go no one ever went to ask if I needed help. I stood outside for about 20-30 mins. i seen a couple of salesman outside, i seen them looking at me. I thought to myself maybe they were busy. So I decide to go in and ask for help, and the sales people are standing outside talking on their phone. one stops me before going inside and finally ask me if I needed help while he was still on the phone. I didn't want to interrupt his phone call. So I told him that it was fine I can talk to someone who wasn't busy, he got an attitude hung up his phone call and said "you plan on buying?"I told him I was looking to buy and rudely said the information is on the truck. The reason why I give them one star is because they didn't give me the option to give no stars or even negative. They didn't even try to keep their promise or even compromise after they made a mistake. This is the worst dealership I've ever seen and dealt with. THE MANAGERS WILL LIE JUST TO SAVE THEIR ASSES AND A FEW BUCKS! WE MADE AN AGREEMENT AND WANTED AN ACCORD COUPE EX SENSING BUT THEY GAVE US AN EX WITHOUT THE SENSING FEATURE( sensing feature being adaptive cruise control and lane departure) We went in on Thursday hoping to get a car with a decent deal, we've test drove a silver 2016 Accord Coupe EX W/ c SENSING and that's the one we liked except we wanted it in the color RED! After dealing with the desk manager, Charles on the deal we finally came to an agreement on the price of the car for THE SAME EXACT CAR except the different color. Since they didn't have the RED color we wanted, he offered to find one at another location and have it ship for us. At the table there were two salesmen Jamel and Cameron, Jacklyn (my sister who the car will be under), Charles and I (desk manager). He told us he'd found three locations that had it but they did not pick up the phone so he has to wait on their responses. We didn't know how long they would take to response so we left. Charles said he will call us once they get an answer and before we left the store I asked him several times to MAKE SURE that we are getting the SAME EXACT CAR except the COLOR DIFFERENCE and he agreed. And we all heard it at the table. That's a verbal agreement. We have the paper where the deal was made. Never once did he mention to us that it will be just a regular EX without sensing, not even on paper that it was written EX without sensing! Later on the day they called and told me they found one (again they did not mention we are getting an EX without SENSING) and that we are required to come in and do the paperwork in order for them to reserved the vehicle so Friday morning that's when we came in and did the paperwork. (again they did not mention we are getting an EX without SENSING). Charles told me the car will be there Saturday morning but of course it didn't come until later on the day. When we came to pick up the vehicle and the paperwork yet they still didn't mention to us about the SENSING feature different until I look through the vehicle and have to found out myself that the car did not have the feature! These people didn't expect me to notice the different but nope I caught it so of course I did not want the vehicle that we did not agreed on. By this time Charles (manager) left home so I was stuck with the salesmen Jamel and Fred (finance guy). They called Charles on his cell phone and of course he denied it and said he did mention to me. Jamel agreed with me that we made a deal on the SENSING EX and that it's their fault so they will make it right for me so They told me to come back Monday. But I will not leave unless I get an answer. I need it to be handle immediately so that's when the store manager Jeremy came in , he was so rude and would not own up to their mistakes. He told me Charles gave me a deal for an EX not a SENSING EX. But that was never mention to me. I had everything backing up my version of the deal that was made on the vehicle we agreed on but he tried to dispute it. Apparently this store manager is at a higher position than Charles and he's the one who approved the deal. So he gave me an offer that he would find a SENSING EX for me and he would eat the shipping cost but I have to pay for the different for the feature. Or if not, then they would refund my down payment Monday! This is just ridiculous and at this point I was just tired of this crap so I told him I don't want to wait any longer and since he's willing to get the cost of the shipping then he can just give me the amount he'll pay for the travel but he wouldn't because he'll lose more money or something like that, any attempt to compromise with this guy was a waste of time. Since he couldn't convince me he just left the room telling me to come back Monday to get my check back. What kind of customer service is this? It's their mistake but they can't even own it up. Talking about trying their best to keep their customers satisfy and happy and doing it are two different things. And they have the nerves to asked me to give them all 10 on their survey!!! My family has purchased two vehicles from Kelly Grimsley Honda within the past few months, a brand new Honda Accord, and a very new (used) Chevrolet Equinox. Our sales rep was Jamal, and he worked diligently to get the deal don for our son on his first new car purchase. He and other members stayed well after hours to complete every detail and gave us a deal we could all be happy with. I made the comment that if they were able to work this deal, my wife and I would be back to make our purchase there as well. They did, and when the time was right, about a month or so later, we contacted Jamal again. We met him there, and he worked just as hard to get my wife comfortable with her new vehicle. LONG story short, and multiple showings later, she agreed on a VERY nice Chevrolet Equinox. Being honest there were a couple minor details that needed attention, our plates were mis-addressed and returned to the dealers, and a missing key and fob. I contacted the dealership by e-mail and the team jumped right on it. I am terribly sorry that the Managers name escapes me but he followed up with me with several calls, arranged for a locksmith to meet us at the store this past Monday afternoon, and a new key cut and fob programmed at no cost to us. I am here to tell anyone this dealership went above and beyond to make our transactions painless, got us the vehicles we wanted, and made sure everything, every detail was met to the letter. They treated us like friends and with respect, made us comfortable and took care of every detail. There is no doubt in my mind these guys are for real, they have earned our trust and respect and we will never forget that. It was a sincere pleasure to work with such a fine organization and we have no reservations about endorsing them to anyone we know that is in the market for a new or used vehicle. read more

I have driven Honda vehicles for 30 years. I attempted to purchase a car at Kelly Grimsley but they couldn't come close to what I wanted for my trade in (also a Honda). I resorted to driving to San Antonio, where they offer no haggle pricing, and they gave me what I was wanting (Kelly BB value) on my trade. The problem comes with weekend service (closes service dept at 12pm Saturdays). Kelly Grimsley Honda has a potential to service customers in a large geographical area, but does not recognize the need. People who work Monday through Friday, and live in outlying areas cannot make it to Odessa through the week and depend on weekend service. When I questioned service hours through corporate the first time, someone from Kelly Grimsley called and addressed the issue in a hostile, borderline threatening manner. I opted to take my service business to Midland, but now they have also opted to close at 12pm on Saturdays. It's not because of lack of business, because when I asked when I could get my car in, they said the wait time was over a week. So yes, while I bought my car in San Antonio, I expected to be able to utilize the service department of my closest Honda dealer, but this Honda dealer choices its own convenience over that of consumers. When I checked other Honda dealers in like sized towns/cities, most all stayed open until 5pm on Saturdays, with one closing at 4pm, so this was obviously a decision at local level. I prefer to take my vehicles to the dealership for service instead of using auto service centers such as Quick Lube or Wal-Mart, so they can keep up with the vehicle specific maintenance and recalls, etc. For this reason, after driving Honda for 30 years, and loving the Honda brand, this will be my last Honda purchase. The local dealers obviously think business is too good. Gunn Honda in San Antonio is a total different story...they cater to the customer with outstanding customer service, impeccable workmanship, and hours to accommodate the customers' needs. Honda of Midland, when service dept was open until 6pm, also did a great job, and I had decided I would go there for my next Honda, but their change in hours changed my buying decision. And Kelly Grimsley Honda, I would never buy a Honda here due to the one attempted buying experience and the follow-up phone call about the service hours. You can bully who you want, and I can buy where I want. If you choose to buy your vehicle here, be prepared for arrogance and "old school" car haggling. I'll start by saying this was by far the worst customer service and car buying experience of my life. I was looking for a specific truck and wasn't getting much help with other online dealers. I called Kelly Grimsley because they had the truck I wanted. We negotiated a price since I was paying cash. I was told price included tax since I was out of state I asked them to calculate the tax for my area I gave them my zip code and the gave me the price. This turn out to be the lie from the dealership. I had to pay another $1400 in taxes when I registered the truck. Then I ask the salesman Nick if the truck had any major dents not your normal rock chips or ding or dents. I was told no which is the second lie. The back bumper had a major dent that I had to fix. The only person that has been responsive was Mark who was a salesman but not the guy who sold the truck. He picked me up from the airport when I flew in to pickup the truck and I have texted through all the issues. He alone is the only bright spot in this whole transaction. Over all I'll never look to buy a vehicle from any of KG dealerships. I'm only giving the 1 star because zero isn't allowed. The customer was horrible beside Mark. Not sure what rating to give, but I took my 2006 Honda Odyssey from Hobbs, NM to Kelly Grimsley Honda in Odessa--a 90 mile drive each way. The AC problem I was having corrected made it necessary for keeping it overnight. Then that turned into keeping it overnight a second night. An inconvenience, but necessary. I also asked them to do an oil change, which was probably done, but the display on my dash still shows the old reading. And the old window sticker was removed, but not replaced with a new one. Now, I AM capable of reading my instruction book to see how to change that display myself, but after spending nearly $800 and leaving my vehicle there for that long, I feel these minor details should have been taken care of! Upon arriving home, I noticed something protruding from under the front passenger side seat. It has a handle on it. Must be some piece of equipment left behind. Then when I took my van to vacuum it out this morning, I found a couple MORE pieces left behind. I'm not a perfectionist, but when I take my vehicle to dealership, I do expect more attention to detail........ read more
