2nd time staying here. Room was clean and no sounds from anywhere. Pet friendly and lots of grass for dogs. Breakfast was better than most hotels. We had egg, bacon, french toast and hash browns. However, the kitchen person who was setting up the morning breakfast was NOT friendly. She bordered on rude. Rest of staff friendly and helpful. Overall was a great stay. Beware! Hotels.com gives this place an 8.8 excellent rating and claims it's "perfect for couples." Our experience in room 115 on Aug 14 2026 has been entirely different. At check in, desk staff was curt and less than welcoming. (Maybe this person was having a bad day or is better suited to a bureaucrat job that is not customer facing?) We were traveling with a pet (a well-traveled, well-trained 8 year old quiet, lazy cat) and put in a room on the first floor, ostensibly because of our pet. Unfortunately , they had checked in a basketball or soccer team (or Bigfoot?) upstairs directly above us (also with a hard floor?) because the heavy clod stomping back and forth the floor AND ball dribbling went on from 9pm to well after midnight. At this writing it is 12:20am and they are still pounding the floors and we are unable to sleep. The room is poorly decorated with damaged case good furniture and a weird vinyl covered sectional seating unit that looks like it belongs in a diner. Everything is shabby and room has hard surface floors that appear to need a good mopping. There was no soap and no shampoo in the bathroom tub - just a solitary bottle of conditioner on the wall. Linens were old. Towels were threadbare and rough. The tub entry and shower were downright dangerous (there was a grab bar to enter but nothing to hold onto inside and there was no anti slip surface) VERY DANGEROUS FOR SENIORS. The water temperature and shower controls were also very hard to adjust and modulate and the water was scalding hot. There was also no place to hang towels or clothing other than a single hook on the back of the door. On top of this, there was a clump of black hair in the drain from a previous occupant. Nasty! At best this place accepts pets including cats (so many places accept big dogs but not kenneled cats - and I cannot fathom why) and has exterior door access for easy loading/unloading, is within walking distance of a Cracker Barrel and a circle K and is an extremely large room with an inside entrance and an exterior entrance BUT the security locks ate damaged on the interior door and there are no Do Not Disturb signs. Frankly this place feels sketchy because it doesn't seem clean and is about as far from 'excellent' as I can imagine. Based on experiences this evening I think I'll be skipping breakfast, too, but that is more because I want to avoid inconsiderate oafs like the heavy footed upstairs folks - if they show this little regard for fellow travelers I can only imagine their behavior at a shared breakfast space . So, unlike Arnold, I WON'T BE BACK. If you consider this place just remember - I warned you. I've traveled a lot this year - better than 60+ nights in hotels and this place was one of the worst properties I have encountered. Do not believe the high rating on hotels.com as it is most assuredly undeserved. (Edit: I broke down and went to get a coffee. Broken sticky equipment, no fruit, no yogurt, and a very cramped crowded space.) At check out we again reported issues. The only thing the clerk said was "I'll report it to housekeeping." when what she should have said was "I'm sorry your experience wasn't up to our normal standards. We are on a cross country road trip and chose this location based on price and that we could bring our dogs we had to sign that we would be responsible for any discounts they caused because of noise.. We tried calling the front desk about a dog RELENTLESSLY barking from a locked car in the parking lot it NEVER stopped all night we ended up getting up at 6 and leaving without breakfast because we were so exhausted again I tried to tell the lady at the desk who refused to even stand up from her chair that the dog was still barking and should probably be checked on she SNAPPED " he is fine!! He has been checked on ! " HORRIBLE $150 down the drain for no rest and no breakfast. We also found old pills on the floor in our room, dirty napkins next to the couch if there was a toddler in this room, this would've been a serious serious hazard read more

Room was very clean, suite was quiet with no sound from road or other rooms/hallway. Breakfast was mediocre, but was thankful to grab some quick protein. I grabbed one fried eggs and part of a hash brown patty and took in two bites as I headed for the door. They had bagels, waffles, ham, cereals, coffee machines etc. My friend said she saw biscuits and gravy too. Appreciated the clean room and bed, bit the bed was a tad firm, could have used a bit more pillow top or something, but still had a fine nights sleep with all the pillows read more

Place is clean. We had a first floor room which has 2 doors. This maybe an up charge of one is looking for the cheapest rooms. The walls are thin and you can hear the tv from the other rooms. Location is great. The place was pretty full. Its is a little worn but its kind oyiu get what you pay for. They do have a pool and hot breakfast which starts at 6 am. It met all our needs while just traveling from one point to anothers. Nothing fancy but clean, warm and seemed safe. read more

Kelly inn was normally our go to hotel when staying in Billings, we have stayed here A LOT! Normally no issues, we like the rooms, breakfast, hot tub and pool, particularly the family suite that's fits us perfectly. However the last time we stayed was the first time accidentally leaving an item behind in our room. I accidentally left my iPad on the end table. Assuming that the protocol for housekeeping when finding items would be to turn them into the front desk to place in a lost and found, we called later that evening after realizing we left it. The front desk checked the room and said it was not there. We called back several times over the next two days, the front desk insisted they did not have the iPad and would never allow us to speak to a manager. After day 2 I found no other solution other than filing a police report. Billings police department went to the hotel, spoke to the manager, then the housekeeper, and recovered my iPad. I am so thankful to Billings police for their assistance but that was my last resort. When items are left behind, just be a decent human and turn it into the front desk so when the customer calls they can pick up the item without having to waste the time of the police department due to untrustworthy staff. read more

Aside from the sign at the desk, and the apologetic staff, you wouldn't know they are remodeling the first floor. They are doing remodeling, but it's not dirty, noisy, or falling apart. Considering how many animals they potentially had, it was relatively quiet. (We have a sensitive pup, and he wasn't very nervous, like he's been at other places... usually because of other dogs who are barking a lot.) The room was clean, and nice. Didn't even smell like other animals. More than enough pillows and wash cloths and towels. Again, all were clean. No stains. They even offer a makeup cloth. Breakfast: food was good. Blueberry waffles are amazing. (Add cream cheese, it's awesome!) Eggs, bacon, hash browns, and French toast were hot and fresh. The lady who was in charge of the food was courteous and efficient. Price was great for the quality of the place. Fur babies are free, and the price was lower than other places in the area, so we were nervous about how nasty it might be. We've traveled the country, (FL to WA and MI to OK and a lot of places between) and have been in some places that were so bad we ended up sleeping in the truck! The first floor room we had was OK, looked clean but worn. A bit Moldy smelling and out of date, no USB connections and very few outlets to charge anything, lights and clocks need to be unplugged in order to charge any devices Other than that and a really beat up and poor condition jacuzzi the room was acceptable but for the 250$ ish price with taxes it was not really worth that. Half that price sounds about right. The nice thing was every first floor room is both accessible directly from your parking spot And from a central hallway. It's been decades since we stayed in a motel that the rooms opened each onto the parking lot, I had forgotten how nice and easy it was to bring everything in and out of the room like that. I prefer the LA Quinta 2 doors over, at least the room to room comparison, though neither are as nice as the Marriott Residence Inn Honestly, of house keeping filed the jacuzzi up and ran it and while it was running poured in bleach the entire mold issue would be gone. Good clean hotel. The only issue was the breakfast in the morning. Staff members were sitting down and eating breakfast at a very busy time. We had no place to sit and the staff members had plates full of food. There actually was very little food out for guest. When the attendant brought fresh food out she would go to the table of staff and serve them and then put what was remaining out. We chose this place because it was supposed to be close to the river w/views, they allow dogs and other reviews were extremely kind. What a farce. The view is a gas station. The river is waaay outta here. My husband calls it a Motel 3. The flooring is mud colored, some kind of rubber tile and looks filthy. The towels have been washed so many times they're like sand paper. The shower is perfect ~ if you're 5' 0". I'm not. The shower curtain doesn't cover the stall, there are no bars to grab if you slip. The elderly need something to steady themselves with while climbing over a tub! The pillows are TINY, like half sized! How did they even find those?? The bed is so hard we are both in bad shape after a long wakeful night listening to the a/c unit roar like an airplane. We're on vacation, right? At 8 AM, hospitality is knocking on the door to see if we're gone yet. Now I hear them singing, whistling in the corridor outside or in other rooms. So we paid $155 for one of the worst nights I've spent in a motel. Yeah, yeah. Hold your horses, we're leaving already! You can get in to clean for the next poor soul to suffer in here. read more

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The room was huge and clean. The beds and pillows were so comfy. They allow cats and dogs with no extra fees. The only slight thing was breakfast wasn't the best. However , it gets the job done. With them not charging extra fees for pets it's a trade off I'm willing to take. We recently stayed at the Kelly Inn in Billings, MT and it was a great choice of hotel. The room was very clean and spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable. The pool, hot tub and fitness area was also very clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. While some other hotels we stayed at during our visit to MT and WY were lacking on the continental breakfast (due to Covid) Kelly Inn still offered plenty of options. The folks giving this place low star reviews could seriously stand to get over themselves. It's clean. They don't charge for pets. They have fast wifi that's free. There's a pool - with a slide, and a hot tub. They have free breakfast. The beds are comfortable. They have cable. There's also a workout room. The nice man at the front desk bakes cookies & gives out dog biscuits. All this for a budget price. I booked randomly through Hotel Tonight because I needed somewhere to crash last minute and they didn't want to charge me an extra $20 for having my dog with me. When I mentioned my lab was in tow at check in, the host made sure that I got a room on the ground level right next to the very large grassy area where pets can do their business. I was hoping to find a clean place to relax for 12 hours...if I had to stay long term in Billings, I'd still stay here. Well done Kelly Inn, I wish more hotels were like you. read more

First time at this hotel. Pet friendly and they were very accommodating. Hotel recently had updates and the room we had was nice and clean. First time booking a room with two king beds. Very spacious and that was a nice feature which will bring me back to this hotel. The pool area is smaller than most hotels but it's updated, has a slide for the kids and does the trick for an evening of splashing. The hotel crew was very nice on check in and departure. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. Not a 5 star hotel but the treatment was 5 stars. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Stayed two nights in the middle of the week and got placed in a room right above construction so we moved for the second night. When I asked if there were any rooms on the backside with doors right to the parking lot I was told there were none and saw only one car parked in the back the entire stay. Their pet policy is the only reason we chose this hotel and, next time, I'll look for another hotel as the front desk girl was "gruff" as one other reviewer mentioned. Rooms are clean, maids are nice, and breakfast is not bad. Wanted to gamble and got no help at all on where to go so don't expect much from the desk, again. Smells like dog urine. Lynn at the front desk gave a crazy family keys to our room by accident in middle of the night. After they opened our door and woke me and my children at midnight they were in hallway being loud and tried to fight my 16 yr old son after we asked them to be quiet. Front desk didn't do anything but try to move us in the middle of the night instead of kicking them out or moving THEM. We didn't get any sleep and they gave us a whopping $20 refund. read more

I got the room off of hotels.com so the price was reasonable. I did not find the man at the front desk pleasant to deal with during check-in and he also got into a yelling match with another customer. The beds were pretty hard and I could see our room had not been dusted in awhile. They stated the room had a 'city view', but all I mainly saw was a big gas station. After traveling from across the country for days and excited that this hotel accepts dogs without a fee, I was stoked! When my husband and I made reservations over the phone the staff was helpful and honored a rate that was posted online. However, when I (appearance gives my race away) came inside to check in under my husband's common white-American name the lady at the desk dismissed assisting me and the elder gentleman kindly did. I mentioned we have been traveling for 4 days and cannot was to relax. All was well, so I thought. We wanted to relax in the hot tub to relieve our sore muscles, aches and pain with a can of beer. We sat in the hot tub for less than 3 minutes until abruptly been scolded for having alcohol in the pool area. Amanda was far from professional in approaching us and directly spoke to me about us (husband and I) needing to get out of the hot tub because she doesn't allow alcohol in the area, just water. I commented well that sucks looks like l'll have to grab water. Then she immediately said, no you'll have to get out of the hot tub and walked toward the closet. I told her we literally just got in and if beer is an issue, it's not hard to toss away. She turned around and grabbed a bottle of "chemical" then stated, no you need to get out. I'm going to pour in a chemical to get rid of the foam. Again, I stated, we just got in, you can't give us 5 minutes and you're choosing to do this while people are using it? She said no I'm doing this now, you need to get out. Appalled of how rude and inconsiderate she was to me we got up and left. Amanda told us the foam needed to be removed and we could come back in 10-15 minutes. My husband went back, alone. with a drink ... no one said anything to hi. Amanda never bothered him. Our family getaway to allow our small kids to swim and play was ruined by their restrictive policies and rude staff! The front desk person, Mandi was very rude when we were told about their restrictive pool access, none of which were mentioned to us when we booked our rooms. The hallways and elevator smelled of cigarette smoke, the rooms were not fully furnished or super clean, the pool was cold, the hot tub was not available for use. The pool is tiny with little room to sit around and watch the kids play. I was told, "call the number on the wall if you don't like it". I did, and receive no response to my concerns. Would warn everyone I know who is looking for a family place to go elsewhere! Horrible experience. read more

The hotel left a lot to be desired. It was hard to get to because of the paving of a parking lot nearby. the swimming pool with the slide were its saving grace. The temperature was decent for kids and clean. The room had linoleum tiles instead of carpet. This made it feel clean, but unfortunately made it loud with two small children. If you need two beds, DO NOT OPT FOR THE PULL OUT COUCH! The mattress was old and worn. You could feel Every spring. The breakfast was also quite poor: over cooked powdered eggs, thin sliced salty Canadian bacon, and "hash browns" that were actually soggy French toast sticks. The gravy was burned from a crockpot that was way too hot. It gets the job done if you need a place to sleep....but it isn't anything to write home about. read more

We didn't get a chance to stay at this hotel. My husband suffered blood clots in his lungs last year after surgery. With the fires in Montana, the air quality is considered unhealthy. With his lungs, it is impossible for my husband to stay in Billings. The hotel refuses to give a refund for a room booked for the 10th of September 2017. Guess they are too greedy to be concerned about the health of their guests. Going to post this review on every site that I can think of. On a road trip from Washington state to Kansas with our cats, we had planned on staying at Motel 6s throughout our drive solely based on the fact that they accept cats (it can be really hard to find hotels that accept cats). We had stayed at a horrendous Motel 6 the night before elsewhere in Montana, got terrible sleep (loud guests in the halls and louder guests in the room above ours), and there was no mini-fridge AND no complementary shampoo/conditioner (really?!). The following morning, our zombie selves got back in the car for day two of our road trip, and after some car trouble, we decided to cut the day short, but decided to upgrade from Motel 6 because I would honestly rather pay a little bit more for something so much nicer and get a good night's sleep. Enter the Kelly Inn. They accept cats, they aren't that much more expensive than Motel 6, and they have a pool with water slide (I'm not aquatic so I didn't use this feature, but families with kiddos I'm sure love this). The front desk lady (sorry I don't know her name) was SO nice and provided some much-needed comedic relief from the 24 hours we had just had. She was super friendly, helpful, and receptive when we told her about our terrible experience the night before at Motel 6 getting woken up by the guests above our room, she gladly gave us a room on the top floor (we didn't even ask)! We go up to the top floor, open the door to the room, and it was lovely. A nicely air conditioned, extremely spacious, soft, comfortable room. Well-equipped with a mini-fridge. Complementary shampoo AND conditioner waiting for someone to use them. This was an amazing experience, I am so glad that we stayed at Kelly Inn. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. read more
