The employees are very friendly and hospitable making check in and out easy peasy. They had cookies and popcorn for us upon check in but ran out for half the family with cookies since it was after 8pm when we arrived. The elevator helped us to our floor and our room was very clean. Ours had one queen and one double along with a mini fridge, microwave, two luggage racks, iron, hairdryer as well as mini toiletries for the bathroom- shampoo, body wash, soap bar and makeup remover kit. There wasn't any recycling in the room and didn't notice any in the lobby or eating area. The beds were reasonably comfortable but did shake a bit when you move around. The AC seemed to not get cooler once it reached a certain temp but it cooled off the room enough for our needs. Breakfast- biscuits and gravy, premade omelettes, sausage, cereal and milk, apples and oranges, Costco muffins, yogurt, bread and bagels, oatmeal packets, waffle maker and syrup, PBJ packets and honey, juices, coffee...as well as vending machines $, ice machine, and a washer/dryer $ on the second floor. The hotel isn't high end but has all the basic amenities plus a nice layout for breakfast along with friendly staff for a more reasonable price than many other options in the area. So if you're looking for a nice clean place with food and friendly faces, without tons of extra frills this is an excellent option! We would stay again if we are passing through. read more

Our king room was super clean and very comfortable. It was perfect for our overnight stay after driving 150, miles one way, for doctor's visits. It was spacious, plenty of seating, including a loveseat sofa, a comfortable upholstered chair & a small dining area with 2 chairs. Adequate amount of drawers and storage space, plus a large area to hang clothing. A nice size flat screen tv, microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker made the room super functional. Free WiFi is available too. The bathroom footprint was quite small, but the walk-in shower is very large, and the counter and sink area is plenty big enough for our needs. The bed was super clean, and all the linen, pillows, and blankets smelled freshly laundered. The bedding is a little outdated. Bedding had plenty of layers. Top bedspread, then a flat sheet, then a super soft middle blanket, and finally a second flat sheet. There were 4 super plush king pillows provided. They were nice but didn't offer enough support for my husband, who just had surgery. The front desk staff were super friendly and understanding, and happily gave him 2 more pillows so he could prop himself up adequately. We had a great night sleep. Free Continental breakfast was super satisfying. Cereals, pastries, muffins, bagels, English muffins, assorted breads, yogurt, apples, waffles, hot sausage gravy, warm pillowy biscuits, hot sausage links, coffee, tea, apple and orange juice, 2% milk and any and all the condiments you can think of. The front desk also provides free freshly popped popcorn in the afternoon and evening. The parking lot provided plenty of spaces, so parking was a breeze. The location is super convenient right in the middle of the hospital district and only a mile away from downtown. I did subtract a star only because the last time we reserved a room here, it was for my husbands brain surgery. There was a high school wrestling tournament the same weekend and they double booked our double queen room. They did offer us a king room instead, but as we had a 4 adult party, that solution wasn't adequate. We chose to find different accommodations. read more

Just an overnight on an east bound trip. Riversage did not disappoint and was the best in my long trip. Super friendly staff. Ample parking. Secure building. Everything I saw was brand new and sparkling clean. My room was super comfy. Quiet and free of odors. Nice bagged breakfast due to restrictions. Jimmy dean Sammy, yogurt and juice. If you need a place to stay the night , it does the job. I took off a star because the mattress I had was beyond soft. If you like soft mattresses, then you'll like this hotel. GPS kept trying to take me to the hospital, but once I found the hotel I could see why GPS was confused -- this hotel is surrounded by hospital buildings. So he aware of that when looking for it. Great proximity to BIL airport! I have a 5am flight, and wanted to be near the airport so I didn't have to get up so early. Win! I had a wonderful stay at The Hilltop Inn. It is close to the airport and up a few streets from the hospital where my child was being cared for and they offer a "hospital discount". The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and they were so kind and accommodating when I needed to extend my stay. It is very clean, secure, and quiet. Their free breakfasts are tasty, and the fresh cookies and popcorn at the front desk are such a welcoming treat. I really appreciated the convenience of their on-site washer and dryer, especially when it was snowing outside. Their genuine hospitality was a bright spot in my visit to Billings. I stayed here in Billings, MT for 4 nights, just because the nightly rates were on point and under $100/night. Plus, they were centralized in the city to where I needed to be. The only major issue that I personally had was that I could not initially find the hotel when I arrived on property. I saw most of the medical center buildings and signage and my gps told me that I was right there, but couldn't find it. Just a fair warning! lol I finally noticed that the Hilltop Inn building was gray and the other hospital buildings were brown. That finally clued me in. I found Hilltop Inn through hotels.com and booked a 4 night stay through them. They seemed to be connected through a smaller hotel group called Riversage or something. While it is nicer to stay at the national hotel chains, i.e. Sheraton, Hyatt, and Hilton for example. I was here from Friday, September 15 to Tuesday, September 19, 2017. They gave me room 319, which they characterized as the business suite and the best they had. To be honest, it felt like it was just a normal room with a king bed. Hate to see what the other rooms look like on the other floors! For the most part though, I did enjoy my stay here at the Hilltop Inn. The overall experience here at the Hilltop Inn here in Billings, Montana was pretty good. I did enjoy sleeping in the king sized bed each night, enjoying the fact that I am traveling, and of course, enjoying the fact that I am not working and staying at home wishing I can travel. The service here was good. The check in was friendly and professional. It took me about 10 Minutes to get myself settled, considering that I got my credit card charged for the room a day before I physically arrived on property. So, I didn't have to pay up on arrival. I received room 319 and it was clean and very much organized. Basically, you have the television, microwave, mini fridge, a table with chairs, and couple of lamps with outlets. Never had to use the air condition though, since the weather then dipped into the 40s F during the night. Slightly chilly for me, to be honest! This Hilltop Inn hotel is located at 123 N Broadway Avenue in the heart of Billings, MT. It's right off 27th street, which seems like one of the main thoroughfares in the city. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing, as well as cash. Not sure if the public transit system comes through the area from the airport, but I decided to rent a car for this trip and it came in handy all the way. The hotel itself has plenty of parking in its own private lot for guests. While the Hilltop Inn only features laundromat services and free breakfast, I partook in the free continental breakfast for 2 mornings while I was there. Basically, you have eggs, sausage, biscuits in the hot menu. Then pastries and cereal in the cold and self serve section. Along with waffles and coffee / tea to complete the meal. I slept well most of the time here, so it was worth it coming here to Billings. 4.0 stars for the entire experience. 4.0 stars due to being budget friendly. Breakfast was convenient. The staff were pleasant and efficient, and if you need a place to stay literally right next to the hospital, this is your place. Which might come in handy given the current rise in the Delta variant of COVID. Masks here are "encouraged", yet, staff (all but one who put it on after seeing us were ours put theirs on... thank you!) were not wearing any masks. This includes the cleaning staff who are in everyone's rooms where people take their masks off. We picked this place due to it saying online that they were a business that were implementing COVID protocols in place. Additionally, the bed in our room was not stable so we continued to wake each other up in the middle of the night with the slightest movement. Overall, we will not be staying here again. read more

The only good attributes this hotel has is that it's inexpensive, close to the Yellowstone Medical Center, Saint Vincent's and the pet rate is only $10 a night. The beds and lumpy and sunk in the middle. There is no fitted sheet on the mattress, just a flat sheet tucked in. The mattress cover is small and doesn't cover the entire mattress. You have the choice between two styles of pillows, rock hard or overly fluffy. My guess is the fluffy ones eventually smash down into the rock hard ones. The bathroom hygiene items consists of a bar soap and conditioning shampoo and the water pressure is non- existent. It'll suffice for a night or two but it is what you'd expect from a 2-star hotel. read more

My friend and I were visiting Billings for a few days and found this hotel. It's next to the hospital and they lock the front door at 7pm. Positives: close to town, room was clean, free breakfast, free coffee & popcorn all day, plenty of parking, good price, quick uber ride from the airport Negatives: the gentleman who was at the desk at night was awkward at best & a little creepy at times, the fan in the bathroom was broken...overall, the complaints are minor Overall, I'd probably stay here again. Our room was what we needed for our one night stay here in Billings. Since we got in late on our flight to Billings there wasn't much open around us to eat. Have to go on to the downtown strip to find anything. Breakfast in the morning is pre packaged muffins, breakfast burritos, yogurt, omelette. All ready to go food that can be quickly microwaved and on the go. About a mile walk from downtown strip and from what we saw...plenty of options for entertainment depending on what you are getting into on your stay here. It seemed like a lot of guests were here for stay during surgeries. As noted before...if that's your plan for your stay here in Billings...it's a great option with the location here and a must stay!! read more

Upon trying to check in we were give the wrong keys to our room and after the first time trying to resolve the situation we come to find out it's someone else's room only after we walked in and found their clothes hanging up, after 3 more times sorting the situation out we get into a room that's boiling as it's around 100 degrees outside the cable wasn't working and the room looked like a 10 year old tried their best to finish their chores they put off all day as the parents pull into the driveway 0/10 wish I could rate lower. read more

This hotel is located near two colleges and next to a hospital, literally sharing the same driveway entrance. Stayed here one night while passing through Montana. It was reasonably priced, offered a continental breakfast of juice, bread, and muffins. The room was nice and clean. Our room didn't have a microwave or fridge, but I saw some others that did. It also looked like they were remodeling, so there were some construction workers walking in and out of the hotel. They have vending machines, coin laundry, ice, and free popcorn in the lobby. The front desk clerk was also friendly. Free WiFi, had trouble loading some videos with it, but was otherwise fine. They lock the front doors at 7 pm, with only one entrance. Since they are so close to the hospital they probably get more patients families than anything else, which kind of left a sober atmosphere to the hotel. Over all its alright for just one night, or if you have to be near the hospital, otherwise another hotel might be better if your planning a longer vacation stay. read more

I am impressed with the clean comfortable rooms,and friendly staff. It is a bit hard to find as it is nestled on the hospital grounds, but once we found it, the location was perfect. When the staff found out I was there to watch my Grandson play baseball, they even gave me a cheaper rate. This was my second stay there and I felt like the staff were pleasant and very cooperative each time. They also make great popcorn, which they offer to the guests upon arrival. My only complaint is that I didn't care much for the breakfast or coffee. There is a coffee shop across the street for serious coffee drinkers. This is a pet friendly Inn and the staff extended their friendliness to my dog. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my night stay here. After traveling across the country, this was the ONLY hotel I've stayed in to not have any broken furniture, dirt, bugs, etc. Clean atmosphere. Beautiful decor. And pet friendly (only $8 total compared to other places that want 20 to 100 per pet). It was advertised when we booked that pets were only allowed in smoking rooms, but we were happy to see a sign that stated this is a non-smoking facility. I would give this hotel ZERO stars. While it is conveniently located AND pet friendly, the breakfast tasted like cardboard and the gentleman at the front counter had terrible customer service skills. We were planning to stay for 3 nights, but on the second night I woke to be eaten alive by bed bugs! I even saw one and flicked it off my shoulder! Exactly adequate. It is in nice proximity to St. Vincent's Hospital which is great. The breakfast is adequate- the hot food doesn't taste very good but there's waffles or toast as backup. The fitness room is one of the main reasons I booked this hotel but it's pitiful. It opens at 6 am, but it's just a treadmill and elliptical but you can't use the treadmill until 630. There's nothing else in the fitness room so I didn't use it at all in the 5 days I was here. My room and a nearby park to run in was good enough. The room was clean but bring your own shampoo. It's the worst hotel shampoo I've ever seen. The room size is nice and includes a mini fridge and microwave. read more

I started staying at Hilltop when I brought my parents to Dr. appts. in 1988 and enjoyed my stay so much, that when I have anything in Billings I stay here. The staff remember you on your next stay, impressive. I am a resident here 2 or more days a month. The price is reasonable, complimentary continental breakfast, friendly service, made some good friends with the staff, pet friendly and clean rooms. Making reservations is easy. Close to the Hospitals, Airport, College and easy directions to the Interstate and quiet They give hospital discounts and discount coupons for near by restaurants.
