My husband has been retired for a few months and because of the status of the economy my husband elected to look for a job. He found a posting on the internet for Lowe's. He applied and submitted his information. He was pleased to receive an email the next morning for an in person I tervuew at 1pm on July 3rd. He was harassed continually until July 3rd reminding him of the date and time, reminding him of the location. These emails were coming multiple times per day. This morning on July 3rd he was sent another email reminding him about the time and the place of the interview. He arrived at 12 noon and was sent another email, reminding him again about the interview. He was on site, prepared. A few minutes later he received an email that stated "We are canceling the interview. Please apply again." No other explanation. He was then lied to that "He" had decided to cancel. No indication about who "He" was. I told him to go in and demand to speak to the manager. The manager gave him a 6 minute interview and dismissed him, promising he would hear something on July 7th. This experience was full of LIES, humiliating embarrassing and absolutely showing that LOWES is NOT A SUPPORTER OF VETERANS. AVOID LOWES.

I am sure the folks at PPG thought I was a maniac going home with so many swatches, lol. Nonetheless, we're down to the 4 choices and swung by today to get the colors in actual paint form. Going to be painting some small test squares on one of the bedroom walls. Anyhoo, I ramble because it's important to know the type of customer the employees were dealing with and how their assistance and service impacted the visits. Extremely professional (these guys know their stuff and have great taste on top of that), friendly, and helpful in making my choices. Because we had a large delivery of nearly $2,000 worth of items, we paid extra for delivery. After they dropped everything off and took off we realized that they pulled and delivered multiple incorrect items. The items were correct on the receipt, but they simply brought the wrong stuff. Everyone makes mistakes and if they had come out and made the exchange with the corrected items it would have been fine, but they refused. We really tried. We talked with the manager, the driver, the guys we placed the order with, but they would not come back out to replace. They made us go back in there to make the exchanges. We had to borrow a truck and get everything incorrectly dropped off loaded into the truck and make the journey ourselves to make the exchange. No one was happy about this on our end. We lost time and we lost money when the workers had nothing to do because Smith Supply dropped off the wrong materials. This is really poor business and we all decided it was our last time purchasing from this company for any of our future projects or needs. We did not find them honest nor anyone we would want to buy from again. There are too many great companies to buy from and this was a really negative experience for all of us.

They always show their Texas charm and helpful ways to complete a project. Not one time in twenty years have I got any lip from any of the employees for not knowing what I was needing for a job I wasn't sure I could even do. The owner Mr. Smith taught them well and must be keeping them happy too since they seem very content in their work. It is the #1 place I go to for hen scratch, plumbing supplies, fencing and look forward every spring for vegetable plants to mull over. The prices are very competitive and they had just about everything I needed. I was able to get several swatches and then come back for sample containers to determine the right color for the wall. I love how the accent wall turned out and it's all because of Rooster's high quality paint and quintessential customer service! One thing to note, they close at 3pm on Saturdays so if you find yourself running out of paint you better get over there before they close or you'll have to wait until Monday to finish your project.
