The staff was busy at the counter with other customers, so it was hard to get help that day beyond a friendly greeting. But I did find out that they have far more options available online than what is displayed there. Prices, barring a sale, range from mid to high. I didn't find anything that called out to me that day, and I didn't have time to deal with online ordering, but I'll definitely check them out in advance for future projects. No appointment necessary, and they do have weekend hours.

Trying to keep a positive outlook, I walked into the store despite wanting to flee for my life. I kept thinking it would get better as I made my way through the store. Most businesses display their newest and best stuff at the entrance so that wasn't a good indicator but I was trying to keep a positive attitude. There were a few fixtures that might have been okay but mostly it was chrome chrome chrome. Just because an item has a 1k price tag doesn't mean it is good. I can say the store is clean because it would have to be with all that seizure inducing chrome. There is an elevated area in the back of the store with ceiling fans and garage sale style foldable tables upon which was junk for sale. I wish it wasn't junk but when you look at what appears to be stick on light strips, really what else can it be called? That was the entire store. Their "sale" from February was called their "Love Sale" which is pretty cringe-worthy. Positives: Store is clean Staff is friendly They have Saturday hours.

The sales representative, Gale, was super helpful in pointing us to different types of tile. Their tile types included marble, porcelain and ceramic. They had some very unique designs especially for flooring. The store was very pleasant to tool around in as their air conditioning was ice cold. With 95 degree temperature outside it was a delight to be in Arizona Tile. While Arizona tile has a good selection of tile textures, their tiles were mostly muted colors, i.e, Beiges, tans, whites, off-whites, etc. we only saw one sample that was all color...too much color for us. We are looking for tiles that have with a pop of color. Our bathroom countertops have little speckles of gold. Do we want to play of that color. This was tile company to help narrow out choices. We feel good about where we are in the tile selection journey. We have about six tile companies on the list that we were given by our contractor. Two down.... Four to go.

Unlike other fabricators, TSP provided a choice of edge designs at no additional cost. Their removal of the old counters did not damage existing cabinets or walls. Juan and his team worked with us to minimize seams and demonstrated skill in fabrication, delivery, and installation. The stainless sink we selected was of a heaver gauge than some offered by other area companies. We shopped for our own granite at several stone yards. We used Shenoy on Research Blvd. in Austin, also a very customer-oriented business. We were pleased with Juan and his easy going personality. He was here and worked with his staff during both demo and install. In our search for a fabricator/installer we spoke to companies throughout the area. We have been very pleased with the work Juan and his team accomplished in our remodel efforts. We highly recommend Travertine Stone Products.

Every time we turned a corner Floor & Decor staff was asking if we needed in help. The staff was helpful and friendly, which made our time at Floor & Decor pleasant. We got some great ideas today. We, however, need to come back and spend an hour or two looking at all their materials. Quite honestly, they had so many materials, it was bit overwhelming. Interestingly, we did not see anything from our Pinterest Wishlist. Our contractor has other decor places to explore in search of materials for our future bathroom. We likely will review the other places this weekend. We spent $0 today. At the end of the day, it will not take us long to actually to begin to spend money for our bathroom remodel.

My son is doing a science project, and he decided to do a comparison on the burning times of different woods. That's all well and good, but where do you find little chunks of five or six different types of wood? After some calls, I was steered towards cabinetmakers and luckily called Terry. He was incredibly kind on the phone and had us swing by his shop the next day to pick up some wood pieces. His shop is huge, and he's been there since '84, so one can only assume he really knows what he's doing. We got there this morning, and he already had six different pieces of wood picked out for us with the type of wood written right on it. This kind act (and the fact that his shop was quite impressive and he's been doing it 30 plus years) is absolutely enough for me to know that when we redo our cabinets, Terry is the guy we'll be calling. Thanks again, Terry. You absolutely made my 11-year-old son's day today. Steve
