First time painter here. Roosters made it such an easy, affordable and successful experience! I probably encountered every single person that works there over a week's time frame and each provided excellent customer service. I was guided, instructed and encouraged at every step. The prices are very competitive and they had just about everything I needed. I was able to get several swatches and then come back for sample containers to determine the right color for the wall. I love how the accent wall turned out and it's all because of Rooster's high quality paint and quintessential customer service! One thing to note, they close at 3pm on Saturdays so if you find yourself running out of paint you better get over there before they close or you'll have to wait until Monday to finish your project. I entered at this store to buy paint and to get my machined repaired. I paid 350$ for the reparation of the machine and gave it to me 10 days later. I used it for one hour and then the machine did the same exact thing as when I brought it in. I took the same machine to get repaired at another place and turns out that they didn't change the packaging. Very Disappointed. read more

Let me begin by saying, I have never reviewed something in my life, but I am today because I feel *just* that strongly. I am a 5'1" feminine woman who walked into Roosters today in a floral sundress. I bring this up, because as many women probably unfortunately know, it is relevant for how you get treated in stores like this. I like DIY projects around the house, but typically dread the hardware store as I find them intimidating and generally feel judged by staff who treat me as if I'm helpless and dumb when I'm tackling a project. If I don't know the answer to ONE question, I'm typically given dirty looks and made to feel burdensome for even asking for help to begin with. Let me tell you, I nearly cried leaving Roosters because of how kind and helpful they were. I have never, in my life, felt so welcomed in a home improvement store. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I've painted walls and furniture before but never laminate cabinets that I'll have in my new home. I have done a ton of research but still walked in with questions. The guy I worked with, whose name was either Jorge or Jose, talked through my project with me and offered me the best advice on products, tools, and methods, consistent with my research. He was respectful that I was a novice, but never once made me feel stupid or patronized. He offered suggestions and assured me, and I left feeling really confident on my next steps. When I left, he took my name, so the store has a record of the paints I've used should I need more in the future, and he helped me carry all my product to the car. I honestly can't believe how nice it felt to be helped and respected in this situation. I will never go somewhere else for paint or stain as long as I live in Austin. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! Nothing glamorous about the exterior of this spot or its surroundings, but you will find what you need inside! My stepmom had consulted with them a couple years ago for the perfect black paint for our kitchen cabinets, and it was time to the do the master bathroom to match. These guys of course sell Benjamin Moore paint, but I now see why she kept going back. I will echo the reports of excellent customer service. Hands down the BEST paint store in Austin. Sanders, the manager, is extremely knowledgable and accommodating. He's patient and kind. He goes above and beyond to make sure all his clients are happy and taken care of. Pat is always warm and friendly, too. She always greets me with a smile and checks on me regularly. I spend hours in the store sitting down and putting colors together. I've never once been rushed or have felt like a burden. I have yet to meet a staff member that hasn't been amazing. We went to Roosters because of the great yelp reviews, and we were not dissapointed! The moment we arrived, we were personally greeted by multiple employees, several of whom were helping other customers to their cars with purchases. Their COVID precautions are top notch! Every employee was wearing a mask, customers were required to wear masks, hand sanitizer at the entrance was mandatory if you were touching paint swatches (which we were), 6-foot markers on the floors, etc. Once we narrowed our choices down to four, Sanders prepared pint samples of each at no charge(!), and then provided 4 small poster boards and 4 sponge brushes so we could paint each sample to look at in our space, rather than having to paint directly on the walls. This way you can move the samples around to see them in different light. Sanders then walked us to our car with our box of supplies. I seriously cannot remember the last time I experienced such amazing customer service. The person who left a 1-star review on 5/8/20 for "the WORST SERVICE imaginable..." because he couldn't go inside (poor baby). It's a global pandemic, MJ. Get over yourself. We are touching up housepaint in an effort to sell our place. Imagine our apprehension at the thought of trying to find our old paint chips after 12 years. What paint did we use?! Aghhhhhhh! Fortunately, we bought our paint at Roosters. I walked in yesterday and all of my fears were dissolved. They had record of all of our paint purchases! This place and its staff are so great! I was a little apprehensive walking in, as an online painting forum I'd visited the majority of people insisted on the Aura, or highest end paint or one would be wasting time and money. I don't have kids or dogs so I wasn't sure what level I needed. The lady (whose name I didn't get- Sorry! The best descriptor is she kind of looks like Abby on NCIS in a good way) didn't try to upsell me and said their basic ben interior paint line would be fine for my needs. Whew! I had the dimensions of the rooms and they matched my Benjamin Moore paint chips perfectly! And she was kind enough to carry my boxes out to my car! Also, the ben paint doesn't have a strong odor and one coat definitely dries in 2 hours or less in a Texas summer with the A/C on and a fan directed at the painted area. * Hopefully help hint- and this isn't a reflection on Rooster Paint at all- if you have textured walls, you may want to buy more paint than you think as mine soaked up the paint and for one section we were scraping the can trying to get every last drop as it wasn't a very big area! However, if you prefer to to err on too little rather than too much, Rooster will take down all of the paint colors you purchased, store them in their binder, and can have a new can waiting for you to pick up if the need arises. * I did buy more paint than I needed and while they will retint paint, the color that I hoped to achieve the guy (again, didn't catch a name!) was very hesitant to do it as he said it was all but guaranteed to be darker than what I wanted. But adding white would make it muddy. I decided to go with his judgment and will save the original color for another project or give it to someone. * Can't recommend them strongly enough. WOW. Customer service here is OFF THE CHARTS. We always buy paint here and everyone is always nice and helpful, but today was extra. I pulled up to buy some paint, tape, and plastic and it started POURING RAIN. I had my baby in the car so I called and asked if there was any way they could start preparing the paint and I could run in when it was ready. No, they would do me better. Jose came out to my car, took my credit card through the window, boxed up everything I needed and put it in my trunk. Paperclipped my receipt to my card and sent me on my way. We never even got out of the car?!?! I told him I would call to tell his manager how great he is, but he is the manager :) That is how awesome this place is. Thank you Jose! read more

It is May 2021, and boy has everyone been through some tough times! Unfortunately the times are being made tougher by people not being so kind to one another, not knowing what it means to, SERVE. Well, let me tell you about a GREAT paint store who has AWESOME humans who SERVE you; ** ROOSTER'S PAINT CENTER ** They have it ALL. They have Janie, yep, a woman, and does she know her business! And if you are unsure of your own color selection, well, you are in for a treat! They have Bransen. Now don't let his youth fool you, because this young man has a gift for color, a true gift. And an eye for shades of colors. He worked with me on my project, listening to my preferences and the then was able to match me and color, I mean really, he is like really epic! I had to go back after buying all my paint for my project because my painter told me I needed a different paint type for my doors. I kept watching Bransen for about 20 minutes, adding a tiny more color, testing it, a tiny bit more, testing it, about 5 or 6 times. When all was said and done, I asked him, ' What were you doing, because I thought all you had to do was put in a code and the machine spit out the amount of color into the white?' He said he knew looking at it that it was not quite right. He did not quit until he felt the job was well done. AMAZING!!! So everyone, COME ON DOWN TO ROOSTERS WHERE SERVICE IS ACTUAL SERVICE, WHERE REAL HUMANS WITH A HEART ARE FOUND WAITING TO SERVE YOU. YAY!! read more

I wish I could tell you more about the painting services, but I'm from out of state and have never been a customer. However, if I need anything painted around Austin, I'll be calling on Sanders Gibbs. My tire blew out in front of the business, and I limped around back near Roosters' loading area. As I began the process of changing my tire, Sanders came and offered to change it. I said I was fine, but I'd give him a holler if I needed help. He came right back out with a bottle of cold water and offered again. I also appreciate that he brought out his business card for me, although I could clearly see he has a kind, helpful soul. Sanders is absolutely a person I would trust to do business with. It truly gave me peace of mind knowing he had my back if I had any problems. I appreciate that even more than the ice cold water on a hotass, muggy day!! I figure he was keeping an eye out for me, because he came out to check on me again to see if I was okay as I was finishing up. It's been years since I've needed to change a tire, but Sanders' assistance and kindness assured me and cheered me up during a less-than-stellar situation. Thanks again, Sanders. Man do these guys know there stuff! I had the pleasure of working with Sanders Gibbs today while searching for whites along with exterior & interior stains. My experience truly could not have been better! Sanders is an absolute gem and has a wealth of knowledge about various styles, sheens, color schemes, palettes...etc! I walked out with a clear plan versus the overwhelmed feeling Im typically left with after visiting other paint stores. I recently bought a home in the last 6 months and this review is long overdue. When I needed advice about paint colors, Sanders, the manager at Benjamin Moore Paints was not just helpful, but instrumental in finding the perfect colors to design my home. Even though the store seemed short staffed, Sanders took time and patience to help me. I have gone to the store several times, and Sanders always greets us with a smile. It is difficult in this world to find someone caring, knowledgeable and kind who is willing to go above and beyond to help someone else.
