Too upset to convey all the damage they did at this time. We used them because several neighbors had in the past and had positive experiences. Definitely not ours! In short, they damaged my oak floors, and caused damage to the finish in 2 different places, showed ZERO respect for my oak tables, just threw their dirty utility knives and other tools on them, scratching the finish, and either kneeled or stood on my dryer causing multiple dents and creases that even a auto repair dent puller tool, could not repair! Long story short a year later I called Kelly again and he cheerfully replied the same day and worked me into his schedule. I wanted the popcorn ceiling removed, led lights installed and the ceiling primed and painted. He showed up on time and got to work. He ran into a problem installing my led lights and instead of saying it can't happen he did everything he could to make it happen and it made a huge difference! Kelly and his crew removed some old popcorn ceiling from my mom's house in Upland, as well as installing some recessed lighting in a few rooms. His crew cleaned up after themselves pretty well and completed both items of work on time. His pricing is very reasonable. He does a follow through after the job is done so take your time and look over his work during that time and speak up about it right then and there. Don't be shy- he won't be insulted but work with you to fix any issues you may have. I docked one star because there were some parts on the ceiling that were scraped off with too much zeal but luckily we were getting the interior of the house painted and our painters took care of it. Recessed lights look great. Old popcorn ceilings are gone. House is really looking great. Scheduling is easy- I didn't call personally but my brother did. He said Kelly was honest and prompt. If you pay in cash, he offers a nice discount. He stills provides a work receipt and paperwork with cash so don't think it isn't legitimate. In November 2014, we had what we thought was popcorn and my husband spent 2 days trying to scrape it off the ceiling in one room. Once we realized it couldn't possibly be popcorn, we called Kelly, seeing all the positive reviews and hoping for the best. Kelly was very friendly, polite, and professional. He came to the house and told us we had textured plaster on the ceilings, not popcorn. He gave us an estimate, scheduled a day, and gave follow - up instructions for when the work was done. Our ceilings took 3 layers of compound instead of the usual 2, but they look beautiful! He and his team even got the popcorn out of the smallest places in closets and linen cupboards. We did find that, with our insulated windows, the extra moisture in the house took awhile to dry up, causing our walls on the south side of the house to drip with moisture and our alarm system sensors in the south rooms to slide off their plates, tripping the alarm several times in the wee hours. It was unforseen, but once the house was aired out a few weeks later it stopped being a problem. It's now July 2015 and we haven't had a problem since December or January. Thought this information would be helpful for anyone in a similar situation. read more

Scraping and texturing were done fine. As far as the paint and his recessed lighting , hire someone else . We are now finishing the job they should have finished. Cleaning caulking off refrigerator and along cabinets . Caulking all around the paint looks tacky . Not to mention I found paint splatter on my tv stand. Now we need a dimmer because the lights flicker. Should have left my old ones up. Crew came in at 8 and left at 2. Guaranteed if they stayed til 4 these fine details would not have been an issue. I told him I was not happy about the paint not being done correctly , he offered to drop off paint so we could finish his job.. AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE DOING! Oh and look at the last picture. It's an overdue review for Kelly. First I found Kelly about 5 years ago on Craigslist (I think) and had him come out to do a small conversion from old florescent light to 4 - 6" canned lights for my father-in-law's kitchen. Kelly did an amazing job, wish I had pictures to show.. Fast forward to June-2015, I wanted to replace florescent light in a kitchen with 6-6" canned lighting and after going with other contractors, I just couldn't trust what estimates they gave me. So I had to dig thru 5 years of receipt to find Kelly, called him and gave me a fair quote to do the job. He came on schedule, completed the job in half a day. Did a fantastic job and cleaned up the place. Before leaving, Kelly gave me some valuable tips about LED vs Regular bulbs and said there was a GREAT sale at Costco for retro-fit LED lights. Sure enough, compare the price at Costco to everywhere on the web, including Amazon and it was the cheapest! With rebate it was $10.50 per light!! Kelly and his crew did an okay job. We had the upstairs popcorn removed, 31 recessed lights installed, and a mirror wall removed. He quoted me below all other quotes we got for the job, and I'm fairly pleased with the result. Again, the job was adequate for the price, I have no regrets, but here are the issues I had. - They were a bit careless covering up (the condo was empty) and we had a TON of texture stains on the hardwood floors and cabinetry that we had to rub out. We also had a board soaked and discolored by water. - They dinged a wall when attempting to remove the mirror, and the wall the mirror came off from was not smoothed or pits spackled at all, they just textured it - had to have the painter spackle and re-texture. - A few of the lights were installed crooked. - Be extremely specific about what you want, or they will do things their way - which will not be your way - I guarantee it. I didn't specify that I wanted all kitchen lights on the same switch so he split them up on two switches which is a PITA because by themselves there is not enough light, so I always have to turn on and off both switches. - The quote was a bit hurried and I misunderstood his quote to include dimmer sliders, which it apparently did not - he didn't even install any switches just used the old ones. Don't be bashful and ask your contractor about every single detail that is involved to be sure you don't get "shorted". Minor hassle in this case as a slider is $20 a pop and easy to install yourself. - At the end of the day they called me and said they were just about done wrapping up. I left work early only to sit around for at least an hour before they were actually finished. read more

Honest, professional, efficient - I would totally recommend Kelly and his buddy Mike to everyone. When I was looking for someone to remove popcorn off my plaster ceiling, I basically called up everyone I can find via Google. I phone screened them first and asked them about their process (removing popcorn off plaster is a whole different ball game than removing it off drywall.) There are several ways some professionals try to cheat, one of them by cutting processes and telling you that a certain texture is better. There's one guy who said.. "oh plaster ceiling, I would only do Spanish Lace texture on those." I googled and it looked ballistic ugly, like when earth split into different pieces. But what that guy is saying is basically, I don't care to smooth out your ceiling for you. I talked to Kelly, told him I want orange peel, and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. So we invited him over, he measured the square footage. It was accurate. So we hired him. My husband took a pic of them in all white with stilts while working. We also had him paint the ceiling. Kelly uses Dunn Edwards (love Dunn Edwards!) After he painted, understandably Kelly wanted payment. But when the paint dried, I saw that the cement in one part of the ceiling sucked up all the paint which made it looks patchy. No biggie though, we just hit it again with paint and it looks awesome. I did have to vaccuum the floor too. But again, clean up was good and not a big deal. I was really tickled to see how good the ceiling looked (especially after all other contractors said I couldn't get a smooth ceiling.) Would pick Kelly over other contractors in a heartbeat. read more

When he arrived I was removing furniture from the rooms. He assured me I didn't to do that. I put some trust in him. He taped off and covered everything. Removed the popcorn, smoothed out the drywall, installed and wired the lights, and finally, painted the ceiling. It looks phenomenal! After clean up he was done in one day as promised with no mess.
