So we decided to move forward and we are very happy with our decision. As you can see from the pictures, set up was meticulous. Straightforward estimate process. Pricing was fair and I liked Garrett's (the owner) attitude. This is for an entire house painting project Workers arrived on scheduled date on time and friendly. Spent 3 days scraping, sanding and patching to prepare for painting as well as moving all items out of the way before painting. They masked off quite a bit of area to ensure that there would not be any overspray. This attention to preparation continued as they did the stucco, trim/facia/eaves, siding and doors. They also help trim back some of the vegetation from wrought iron fence that they painted. Very happy with the process and results. We have now used Parker's Painting service several times. The first time was to fix a prior painters work that left my home a mess and they did an excellent job painting over it and fixing it. We then used them for a full house paint of an investment property that had not been taken care of. We felt that the price Garret gave us was pretty reasonable and we also heard great things about Parker's Painting from our roof and solar company. We got all our paints through Dunn Edwards. June 4th came and the crews arrived and started getting to work. After a few days there were some things we noticed that we didn't like, so we phoned Garret. I recently had my roof replaced which was extensive and required the replacement of all of the fascia boards, most of the gable paneling and 15 rafter tails. Once the roof was finished, I needed to have everything painted. My roofer recommended two painters (Parker's Painting was one) and I solicited bids from the two that were recommended in addition to one more that I found. Garret came by to survey the job and was very professional and friendly and we walked through the different things that needed be done. I received Garret's proposal in less than 24 hours and the price was very reasonable. I compared the three proposals and followed up with each company to ensure that I was comparing apples to apples. Each one had different items that others had missed so when I messaged Garret, he promptly updated his proposal with the added items. I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing that I received from Parker's Painting and found that based on their Yelp reviews and the price, they were the right company to select. Scheduling was pushed out a bit due to their workload, but I had asked that if it were possible to be done by the 4th or July, that would be my preference. Long story short, the painting was completed this week. Everything was done with such care for my property and honestly I couldn't be happier with the end result. I am a bit OCD and I had messaged Garret a couple of times with some changes in color (adding an accent color and added the garage door) and Garret was always responsive and understanding. We just had the exterior of our home painted by Parker's Painting. Work started on 3/25/19 and finished on 4/3/19. The crew worked a total of 9 days. Garret Parker was always pleasant and professional when we spoke. He answered all the questions we had prior to selecting him to do the job. His price was fair and came in as the lowest that included all the work we required. He used high quality Dunn-Edwards paint. As for the job itself, the majority of the nine days was spent prepping the house to be painted. We had lots of wood that needed sanding, holes and such that needed filling and stucco and wood that needed replaced. The painters were professional. Once the actual painting started, our home was transformed. Painting was relatively quick and then the job was done. Any concerns we had during the process were promptly addressed by Garret. My husband and I highly recommend Parker's Painting. We contemplated giving a score of four stars because we did not expect them to be working on Saturday. Initially Garret had told me they work Monday-Friday. I was surprised to see them on Saturday. But, we are so pleased with the end result, we decided to go with 5 stars. I am so pleased with the quality of work, cleanliness and great customer service I received from Garret and his painting crew. I have a 1600 square foot home which they recently completed repainting of the entire exterior including the stucco, trim and facia boards. The existing exterior paint was original and about 29 years old, so it was in great need of a fresh new coat. I originally was only going to do the trim, but Garret's quote was such a great deal, I decided to go ahead and have him do the entire exterior painting including the stucco. The work was completed over a five day period and his crew was extremely thorough. They did great prep work that included a thorough power washing of the whole structure, masking windows and doors and using high quality paint that was also matched perfectly to the existing colors which was important due to my Homeowner's Association approval. His painters were very polite during the whole process and always were clean in their work. They even gave special attention to removing and reconnecting exterior lighting fixtures, filled cracks and nail holes on the house prior to painting and their power washing of the exterior was outstanding. Finally found the time and money to get our little home in Claremont painted. I tried Home Adviser, what a joke. All I ever seem to get from them is a contractor that wants to sub out the job and charge 2-3 times as much as someone that specializes in what I'm looking for. So I went to Yelp. I found 3 paint contractors that were all highly Yelp rated. I called all 3 and each submitted a bid for the job. The Home Advisor guy also bid the job for $17,000!!!! What a complete joke. All he wanted was my money with no questions or conversation. I'll never use Home Advisor again. Here are the real paint contractors and what happened. I received 3 different bids and prices. First guy was great, but didn't do wood repair and my home was built in 1958 and the trim needed some help, so he took himself out of the running. In his defense, his price was also reflective of the fact that he didn't do wood repair. So his price was very fair. Second contractor was Parker's Painting. I liked Garret from the start as he took the time to really study my home and walk me through what needed to be done. When he spotted something that was going to need some extra attention I asked him what he was thinking about. He told me the east wall of my garage was going to need some help. The old paint was peeling off the stucco, but it wasn't going to be just a pressure wash and paint job on this wall. It was going to take some time to scrape and add the right bonding compound to make sure the new paint didn't start to bubble up and peel off. And the stucco on that side of the house didn't match the back of the house so there was an issue there too. He was estimating how much time the wall would take to make it look great and stay looking great. (The Home Advisor and other paint contractor never mentioned it as they walked right on by). Last guy was also very highly rated on Yelp. He, like Parker's Painting, really took the time to look my old home over and explain what he believed needed to be done. He also stopped at the same east wall of my garage, just like Garret, and stared at the wall and said almost the exact same thing as Garret. So I knew right then it was going to come down to price because their visits were almost identical. When I received my bids from Parker's Painting and the other contractor, there was a fairly large difference in the price. Garret's came with a note saying if his bid seemed out of line either way, let him know so he could look it over and make sure he didn't make a mistake, so I did. I asked him what the difference was between him and the other contractor. He said there wasn't much difference. The other contractor included the highest grade Dunn Edward's paint for $300 more. But the other contractor's price was far more than $300 over Parker's Painting. Garret was a little perplexed. I asked him what he quoted me for and he said I quoted you for a really good paint job based on how long it would take and what the house needed for the kind of house it is. So I asked him the difference between a really good paint job and a great paint job. I wanted great and was willing to pay for it. So we talked and he requoted me. He was still cheaper than the other contractor so I said let's do it. They started the job on September 28 and finished yesterday, October 15. My house is only 1800 sq feet so it's not big. They just paid attention to every detail. The guys that worked on my home were meticulous about every little thing. Martin` and Eduardo take real pride in their workmanship and did a freakin' amazing job on my little home and are both very nice men. They fixed the facia board on the front of the house over the front bedroom and made frames for the rest of the windows as we didn't want shutters any more. They made sure to ask if we wanted a 45 degree angle cut or if we wanted to go with 90 degree corners on the window frames they made. They didn't miss a thing. As for the east wall of my garage, they pressure washed it and then completely scraped it down and restuccoed the entire wall so it would hold the paint better and match the rest of the house properly. They also fixed 3 other areas of stucco and showed me later. I know that's a lot to write, but Parker's Painting deserves all the praise and accolades I can give them. Garret and his team are great and Garret isn't out to rip you off. Don't waste your time going elsewhere. These guys are great! read more
