For lunch there are also sandwiches and salads. The shepherd's pie was like homemade, though it was less solid than some. Not a slice of a casserole, more a couple of scoops. Potatoes, sausage, cheese... Great comfort food, hot and filling and a little peppery. Sided with old-school slightly overcooked green beans, and a fresh salad (with real tomatoes, as in, probably from someone's garden.) Service was great and friendly. Prices are reasonable. It's a bit out of the way for me, but there seemed to be regulars and I hope more locals come in. For $9 for a full meal, compared to the same amount for crappy fast food, it's a deal. The name appears to be Cafe 559 now, at least on the menu and signs. There is a bar next door, so I'm guessing the restaurant closes when the bar opens? Cash only. There is a cellphone dead zone around the town, at least for Verizon, so once I got close I couldn't even use GPS. It's near the main corner.
