I went on a Tuesday afternoon around 11:45, and the car line for this small, drive-thru-only shop extended to the street. It took about 20-25 minutes to get these larger-than-White Castle sliders. I tried 2 cheeseburger sliders and two double cheeseburger sliders. Both were topped with a little mustard, a little relish and a lot of onions. My recommendation is to get double cheeseburgers. They're more filling, better balance out the toppings, and are only 30 cents more. It was a cool experience and definitely gave me 1960s small town burger shack vibes. Easily one of THE Best burgers in the state of Ohio, and quite possibly the best sliders I've ever had in my life! The burgers are clearly made from a good blend of beef, as they taste phenomenal and go very well with the brown mustard they serve! My only complaint is that I wish they would wrap the burgers up, instead of just throwing them in a brown paper bag, as I hate getting grease on the leather seats of my brand new BMW! I love burgers and heard these were the best so I drove over an hour to try them. I'll start with the positive... the burgers are pretty good. They are sliders and you can choose their toppings. Now the negatives. When I got there I was immediately disappointed for two reasons. They only accept cash and they were drive through only. I didn't get a chance to go inside so I cannot attest for the condition inside. There are four tables outside to eat at and no restrooms. For a place that has been making burgers since 1927, they make them painfully slow. The drive through line was 10+ cars, but I never had to wait an hour in other burger lines that long. There are only two people working there, but still. When I pulled up for my order, a group of 6+ bikers arrived and the person left me to take their order. Their disregard for waiting customers was very disappointing. I also felt like the worker was very short with me and it felt unwelcoming. This place is also very wasteful because they put each slider in its own paper bag and I ended up with seven paper bags. While a bit out of the way, if youre ever in this area, I was told Crabill's is just one of those establishments you must try. In business since 1927! I drove by it once and saw that it had a drive thru line out into the street and down the block, so that always seems to be a good sign. The next time I was in town I planned this for lunch. The inside was still closed for service. There are several picnic tables on the side of the building for a nicer day. I took the advice given and got several of the burger sliders with cheese and all the toppings. Theres no frills here, the burgers come out in a paper bag all stacked on top of each other! Dont forget the napkins! These are tiny sliders, so you should definitely order several. I thought they were really good and had a unique flavor. Since we have not been eating inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we thought we would travel around central Ohio and hit well known hamburgers carry-outs. This led us on a 50 minute journey to Crabill's. They could tell we were newbies when we ordered a burger and fries for each of us. We did not realize they were sliders. We did order 3 a piece then. Also, they do not have french fries. I made the mistake of ordering singles. The meat to bun ratio was not good. You have to get the double. It seemed like all bun, as you can tell by the pictures. They also have a drive thru if you're not eating in. However, my advice is to eat in at the bar (the only place to sit) for the total experience. Some small towns have a little drive restaurant that becomes a legend. For Urbana, it is Crabill's Hamburger Shop. This tiny restaurant sits next to the railroad tracks on the western edge of town. It is so small, you could miss it if you don't pay attention! Small also describes the interior, so be prepared to eat outside, in your car, or even on the go. At peak times, the counter can get packed. You can even call your order ahead if you know what you want. This is difficult for the first-timer! The menu is pretty simple, as their claim-to-fame are tiny, fried hamburgers. These hamburgers are unique in that they are fried in an inch of grease, not a skillet or flat grill. Fried. This creates a slightly different taste. They are a bit on the greasy side, but not too overwhelming. The traditional toppings are brown mustard, onion and sweet relish. Cheese is also an option and now they've added ketchup to the lineup. I like my Crabills traditional with cheese. They also make a hotdog that is fried in the same grease. I have not tried it yet, but might have to take the (greasy) plunge on the next visit. For drinks, they have a variety of classic sodas in glass bottles. Also, small bags of potato chips are available. Two things to note; cash and hours. They are a cash only establishment, so be prepared! It's old school and foreign to some of the younger generation, but these places still exist! Also, the hours vary depending on the family that runs it. Sometimes they will close it down an hour or two early, depending on business or other factors. There has been a couple times where my daughter and I got there with more than an hour to spare, only to pull up just as they are closing for the day. Call ahead if you're coming a great distance to check the times. Open since 1927, they are not going anywhere. They have a serious following of local customers, as well as outsiders, thanks to the Travel Channel and other national features. It an awesome little step back in time! read more

Price is too high for what you get ....when these were only 50 cents a burger it was worth it great taste but sometimes also way too greasy so much that it leaves a film in your mouth ....i dont care for the drive thru only option going in was part of the pleasure of going there before....now long lines again i like it most of the time i go but the long lines and sometimes very very greasy burgers is just alot to take for small little sliders that are way too much now ....id say try it and see for yourself if you think they are worth the price ....ill still go but the place has lost something it once had...used to eat there alot now i might talk myself into going once every few months mostly because there are not alot of options on that side of town ....i wouldnt discount them if your looking to try something you havent had before but the lack of dine in and some times super long wait times in drive thru can turn you away pretty quick from going back read more

I turn 65 in October and I've been eating at Crabill's for 64 of those years. I can remember my pregnant mom and I walking from our house on E. Light St to the old Crabill's location next to the tire store. It was quite a hike for a 5 year old and a pregnant woman. But, yes, it was, and still is, that good. If you are a health nut: stay away. The burgers are "boiled" in an inch deep of delicious grease. Go for the double. I order the mustard and relish, though most folks toss in the onions.
