After shopping up a storm at various stores in the vicinity, I looked up and saw a Kelseys. I decided to drive over there on a hot summer day. There were folks on the patio. I wanted air conditioning. I walked in and was promptly seated at a table by the window, looking at the patio. It's nice to feel like I'm out on the patio, but I'm not. My server decided to greet me two tables away. That's just downright odd. He wasn't even staring at me when he did that. He didn't really talk at a normal voice throughout my stay. I suppose that since there were many older folks at this restaurant, he had to raise his voice to be heard. Frankly, I could have heard him across the restaurant with the music blasting. It was a huge turnoff, even though I'm sure Peter is a lovely person when he isn't serving folks in their sixties and older. Anyway, I ordered a Diet Pepsi and got it with a lime wedge. I was so thirsty that I eventually got a refill and downed most of it. I ordered my usual, which was New York-style wings with sea salt and black pepper. It comes with veggie sticks and ranch dip. My wings were good, except that it felt like someone went crazy with the black pepper shaker. Hey, I could have dipped my wings in a container of black pepper, too. The veggies were a nice contrast and were crisp. For dessert, I gave the chocolate berry cake with vanilla ice cream. By the time this dessert was given to me, the vanilla ice cream has slid to the plate's edge. The cake was okay. I wouldn't get it again, though. I'd sooner have the ice cream! This Kelseys is simply average. I have had better at other locations. I was pleased to get my SCENE card swiped. I collected 15x the points. There's the silver lining visiting this Kelseys. Take out 5. There is one thing we noticed since doing the take out reviews. Most restaurants don't have a lot of choices. Only higher end restaurants managed to have a more complete menu. We had not gone to a Kelsey's in awhile since we had always considered it to be more for young families. Seeing what was available, it only reinforced that even more. There was a lot of kid friendly choices.Fortunately, we opted for more of an adult choice: Nachos with avocado and tomato sauce and battered fish. We placed our order on the mobile app.(This is a great time saver when ordering during this exceptional time). We called in to this restaurant who told us it would take at least 1 hour. So we had timed our arrival so that our meals would still be warm when we took them back home. Only one criticism, you couldn't text them to say we were in the front of the restaurant. We had to present ourselves to the front entrance to pickup our meals...and we waited about another 10 minutes. I think this is more due to the fact that pickups and curbsides was still something new and the limited staff seemed overwhelmed. To our surprise, it tasted pretty good. I haven't been here in ages. They're newer renovated restaurant was actually pretty nice. Staff were friendly and service was efficient and accommodating. We were very impressed with the food. Hubs got the Nashville chicken sandwich- chicken was crispy and tender&moist on the inside. They're dry spicy seasoning on the chicken was Soo good! So I generally dislike chain restaurants that aren't little fast food joints... Montana's (owned by the same people that own Kelsey's), Jack Astor's, The Keg, Hard Rock Cafe, etc. Kelsey's I like. The food is consistent and is usually quite good. I come here a lot with my friends who have a wicked obsession with their spinach dip. Which is definitely just terrible for you but oh MAN, it is good. It comes with baked or fried pita chips and the dip is cheesy and fantastic. My friends generally just order that and it is easily a meal for just $9.99, which really isn't bad. It's one of those dishes that you know came from a bucket that they just heat up and serve you, but you don't care. The pasta here is also surprisingly good. I've also had French onion soup and a few types of salad, all of which were good too. My friend claims they make excellent wings too. Best part is, it's the same prepackaged stuff, so you're pretty much getting the same thing every time, which can be nice sometimes. Service is generally good, I've had a few occasions where it was off. Tonight the server was great, and they usually are. The manager at this particular location is also great, he's friendly and sometimes just comes around to check on how the food is. If you have even the slightest issue with your food he is more than happy to exchange it or refund it. One time my friend didn't touch her sandwich just because she didn't like it, she didn't complain or anything, but the manager came over and gave her a free dessert and didn't charge her for the meal. One time the pita chips that came with my spinach dip weren't cooked the way I wanted them, so he made sure they were cooked properly for me and gave me a free dessert. I came here for lunch with my mom and sister while on our way to go post-holiday shopping. The location was convenient, and Kelsey's always seems to be pretty consistent. Our experience was perfectly average, but nothing special. Our server was kind and not too intrusive, which I like. I noticed their menu had changed yet again, and it took me some time to find something that sounded appealing. I ordered the quesadillas and a side of their Thai lemongrass soup. The quesadilla was decent, though again, nothing amazing. The soup was very different than what I would expect Kelsey's to serve (I always think of them as super "safe" haha). My sister loves it, but I found it a bit too sweet. One of the small things I look forward to at Kelsey's is the option of Dr. Pepper - yum! I wish more places served it as a drink option in Canada. I've been to this location a few times with friends, it's a good place to go if you're in a group. The menu is pretty large, but that being said they don't have many vegetarian options - except for the burgers, you can swap any patty for a veggie one. Each time I go I take a while to figure out what I want and then order pretty much the same thing because it's my favourite on the menu. The Sonoma salad with thai fried shrimp is my go-to, and I am obsessed with it! I find it very tasty, but it gets better at the end because the dressing seems to sink to the bottom of the bowl. It's $13.99 which is an average price for a salad at a restaurant. I have also ordered the jalapeno popcorn shrimp there which I loved, but it was $10.99 for the starter and not enough shrimp I felt. This is what you get at such restaurants though so I was not surprised. I have also had the brushetta flat bread which was just average, and the Mozzarella bread which I did enjoy very much. I thought the falvours were good. All the dishes were made fresh, but the wait is always pretty long weather it's crowded or not. One time I went with friends and my order came without my side of fries which I asked for (the waiter didn't write it down) and we just assumed it was on it's way. We were finished eating and the side still didn't come and in that time the waiter was only around our area two times. The service isn't the best there, it's average and the waiters don't do much extra. I don't expect them to, but when an order is completely forgotten and drinks are not re-filled, it does affect their tip. Overall it's just a typical restaurant, the food is good, the service is average and so is pricing. Nothing crazy, but a good place for groups. Just make sure they write down your order :) read more

I've had better cafeteria food. Dingy, cheap and generally just extremely basic. Kelsey's is neither particularly enjoyable nor memorable (at least not for positive reasons). Good for drinks with co-workers but avoid the food. read more

Food was okay. My friend asked for no cilantro on her quesadilla but still there was cilantro on the quesadilla. I also found what I thought was a toothpick in my quesadilla except I accidentally ate it before I could distinguish what it was. I was very impressed at the service I got at Kelsey's. I asked for No mayo on my burger, Unfortunately the cook forgot, and put mayo on. I kindly asked the waitress if I could get one with no Mayo,as I have an allergy. She apologized many times, and the manager came over and gave me a free meal. The mayo incident wasn't a big deal to me, but I was very impressed that they took it seriously and went above and beyond to ensure quality, and standards. Great job!!! read more

First off, the decor change is pretty nice. It used to look like something you'd see on kitchen nightmares, but now it looks pretty urban. However, the menu is a rip-off. All the meals are $15-20 on average (for basic meals like burgers and chicken) and they don't even come with fries, or any side for that matter. You have to pay extra for some reason. So I'm literally paying $15 for 5 chicken nuggets because "they're made in house." Ok that's great but I still want fries, but not for $3 extra. Had to mooch some onion rings off my grandmaw. Makes me wish I spent $5 at McDonald's, cause at least I would've gotten a full meal with some variety. They think it's fine cause the chicken is filling apparantly, but who eats chicken on a plate for dinner. Just saying. I'll admit the chicken tasted good, but them fingers were not worth the prices. So we are 2 couples single person and 3 kids. We order drinks , appetizer, main and kids menu, couple minutes later the server comes back and say that they don't have any chicken wings left, who does that we all know father's day is big event and at has owner double ur order for the week . My buddy ordered an appetizer and they never brought it to him and the tried to charge on the bill , my fiancé was offered a side that comes with her main course she never receives anything and when we asked abt it we were told that it is extra and don't get started with the lack of hygiene , the bathroom are discussing, when we got home everybody that went there had food poisoning . Slow service. We went there early Saturday around 3pm and the place was not busy at all but had reserved our table anyway just in case. Boy is the service bad here. We order drinks from the bar and it took up to 20 minutes to get them to our table. OK now for our starters, what the hell is this waiter doing working there, he sees we are 3 people sitting there, brings one spoon, and we told we would share the entree. OK, now we are done with our drinks, food comes and he doesn't even ask if we wanted more drinks with our meal , so we wait again for drinks, now this is an early Saturday that is absolutely not busy at all. Our main meal at the table without drinks and now with no utensils and still no drinks and still the waiter is nowhere to be found. The manager was there and we complained about the non existent service, and I find it funny how they make excuses. What's the excuse? Its not busy !
