The first visit the restaurant was crowded and busy with two large parties (both very lively and friendly). This visit was quiet with about four tables occupied with sit down guests. There seemed to be a lot of pick up orders as quite a few people came in for food and left. The restaurant is very clean with lots of light coming in from the window and doors. It's a casual setting but you could dress up and still feel comfortable. I will definitely go back to this restaurant on my future visits to Ottawa.

What a cool little store in Sandy Hill. They sell groceries and prepared foods…read more I was browsing UberEats and saw that they had a burger BOGO (buy one get one free) special. The Safi Signature Burger was $9.99. With the BOGO deal that's 2 for that price, which is a bargain these days. I added 2 chicken samosas which were regular price, for $1.75 each. I got the food for pickup. The Safi Signature Burger is a beef patty, topped with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes with ketchup and a spicy sauce in a brioche bun. The beef patty was rather flat and a bit dry, but it was flavourful and I loved the spicy sauce. It gave the burger a nice kick. I also liked that the lettuce was a spring mix and not iceberg lettuce. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, as was the bun. I enjoyed the burger, as did my husband. The chicken samosas were also tasty, but oh so oily. The paper bag that they came in was soaked through with oil. I'm glad I had the food in the trunk of my car and not the passenger seat. The samosas were filled with meat and onions. The menu said it had spinach in it too. It wasn't obvious to me that there was spinach in it though. Nonetheless, it was packed with flavour and spices. It wasn't spicy hot, but rather spice-filled. It had a strong cumin taste, which I enjoyed. I had minimal interaction with staff. The man at the grill was preparing food for another customer when he asked me if he could help me. I advised him I was picking up my UberEats order and showed him the order on my phone and said my order number. He reached behind the counter and gave me my bags. I thanked him and off I went. I was happy to see the packaging was very environmentally friendly. The samosas were in brown paper bags and the burgers were wrapped in paper and placed in a separate brown paper bag. I was able to compost all the packaging. I would love to return to try some of their other items. They have a small number of tables and chairs inside to dine in and two tables outside as well. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The mimosas are worth it, lots of bubbles (some places really skimp, not Chesterfield's). They have many gluten-free options, which always makes me feel like I can eat like everyone else. I ordered the Bird's Nest Benny. The eggs were the most perfectly poached I've ever had at a restaurant. A side came with the benny, and I got the baked beans. The food was absolutely delicious. Potatoes, eggs, bacon, and maple-lime hollandaise that was to die for. There was so much food. Impossible to walk away hungry. Service was perfect as well. His name wasn't on the receipt, but he treated me like I was just as important as the group diners. No solo diner curse here. Cute spot, very clean, perfect service and food with quality ingredients.
