We Love Dr Wong. He is so sweet and professional, and he got my wife's painful kidney stone situation addressed so quickly. And his office is incredible . My wife went to the ER where she was diagnosed with kidney stones. And then she was sent home in pain. We called West Coast urology and Nannet, who works in their office was so unbelievably helpful. Long story short, the insurance company and a slew of other people I spoke to at medical offices I called told us if would be days and possibly weeks before she would be able to be seen. Nannet patiently helped me navigate the system and we were in their offices that same day. I don't know what we woulda done without her. And once we were in their office, Dr Kelvin Wong's medical assistant, Luz, was so sweet and sympathetic with what my wife my wife was going through. Everything about this place was pleasant! You don't commonly go to a Urologists. And, you certainly don't go for the fun of it. I've hit that certain age -- no, not 30 -- that I wanted to check that everything was okay (and, thankfully, it was). It was easy-peasy to set an appt, about a week later after I called. GREAT. On the day of my appt, I got to the address. Well, definitely, lower your expectation. The building that Dr Wong is in has signage with URGENT CARE on one side, and PHARMACY on the other. It's an afterthought that there are other medical offices, and the building seems very old and very out-of-date. In other words, makeover time! When you do find the side entrance (same as the pharmacy), the old directory by the elevator has "West Coast Urology Center", "Dr Wong" is nowhere to be found (I guessed). Dr Wong is very nice, has great bedside manner, and explained everything perfectly. Mostly, he has small hands & fingers, which was very much appreciated! hehehe I got blood work. I was on pins and needles, and on the 9th day following, I called the office to find out if they had my results. They did. Dr Wong explained, but my takeaway, "All is good". Whew! I asked for a copy of the results to be sent me, and he said "Of course". But, the post-appointment experience was awful, starting with should I have had to wait 9 days to get the results? * 12 days later on 11/4-Left msg that I didn't receive results yet. No call back. * 11/24-Left msg again. No call back. * 11/30-Called and reached someone, but they can't email...fax only...mail only if signed release. I said that I will be in the area on Friday, and will try to pick it up. * 12/4-Well, Friday the office is closed! That's when I realized it's a part-time office location, only open Monday, and partially Thursday! Argh! The person on the 11/30 call could have mentioned the very limited office hours! * 12/21-Picked it up, finally. The front desk person was very nice. In summary, very old office -- feels like a COUNTY facility. BAD back office with all the "no call backs". I won't be going back. I was referred to Dr. Wong to perform a kidney cyst removal procedure that was two months from its discovery. The visit was fine and the doctor said his office will arrange for surgery. Well his office surgery coordinator Luz, doesn't call nor returns calls or messages. I Don't know if the doctor is good or bad but they blatantly do not care about their patients. My father and I went to see Dr. Wong and we have 100% confidence in him due to his honest, straightforwardness, and expertise. Unlike many doctors, he wasn't arrogant at all. Dr Wong is very reputable, knowledgeable and highly recommended, his staff however deems to be replaced. They don't answer calls or return them ~ they could learn from back office personnel. They even billed us for a visit even though they need to see the insurance card each time. read more

This review is for West Coast Center Urology. The reason for that is, even though I made the appointment with Dr. Wong, when we arrived we were seen by Dr. Aboseif. I probably should have objected, but I figured they must be partners and I haven't met either one personally anyway. This appointment was for my elderly mother, who has Alzheimer's. It was very disappointing. Bedside manor: 1 star. Results of urine test: 1 star, since we never heard from them. I had to call, and they had to hunt for the report. Dr. Aboseif was a bit rough with my mom too. Very business like. Finally, I did take my time to pay our invoice. However, they took their time to update our payments! We got an invoice dated12/16/20. Our final payment POSTED in their system on Jan 10th. They then turned it over to a collection agency on JAN 11. And on Jan 13th, they issued another invoice! This clinic is full of unprofessional health care personnel, starting with the front desk staff that are extremely rude, it's a shame considering they deal with human beings that have the right to be treated with respect to begin with, and what can I say about Dr. Wong, he is the worst, I had the opportunity of talking to him over the phone in regards to one of my patients that was referred to him for a surgical procedure and my experience with him was not pleasant, I didn't want believe when my patient told me how rude they were and I though he was blowing everything out of proportion but I had the opportunity of speaking to him and he talked to me like a street person with 0 professionalism, I am sure any person without a medical degree would be more professional, I expected more coming from a health care provider, shame on him, he should not be a doctor, and I will never trust him with any of my patients. I'm a nurse, I have served in the Navy over 12 years and I will do what it takes to get this place removed from the Tricare network, he doesn't deserve to get paid for the terrible service he offers or to treat any of my Sailors. The active duty service member was referred to his clinic because they are in the Tricare network and requested him a print out stating date of surgery and how many days he was going to be on convalescent leave, the front desk told the member that they charge $40 if they do a letter, it's is the patients right to provide his chain of command with this information for their awareness. After talking to me this animal yelled at me over the phone, and his word were "WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? I CANNOT DO LETTER FOR WHATEVER YOU GUYS NEED BECAUSE I HAVE OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR" and some other bullshit. When the argument got heated he said the letter was gonna be at the front desk. LOOK ASSHOLE My patients lives are my #1 priority above my own live and my service members protecting your freedom deserve a better treatment and not only my services members anyone ill or injured should receive the best medical care. I was referred to him by my primary Dr. He sent Wong the proper forms. I followed up for several days trying to schedule an appointment. No one answered the phone or returned my messages. I do t know if he is still in business but this lack of service and disrespect does not impress me. I am moving onto the next guy. read more

I moved into the area a few years ago and selected Dr. Wong primarily due to the good reviews he has received personally. I can say he is one of the better doctors I have been to. I have been waiting for an authorization for 2 weeks and I keep calling and no one returns the calls. yesterday I drove there to talk to the staff and after waiting 2 weeks they made me pay $30 to have express paperwork for the authorization... guess what,, still have not sent it!! read more

Well I have my first kidney stone! Not fun! I went to Dr. Wong for a consultation. He hasn't done any type of procedure as of yet, because I wanted to wait a week and see if I can pass this without surgery. But I wanted to review my initial meeting with him: I was very impressed! He knows what he is talking about and explained what is going on very thoroughly ( way more than the ER did), he answered some general questions I had, spent time with me - I didn't feel rushed, and I left feeling like we were 100% on the same team! Which was cool. Our team goal - for me to drink alot of water so I can pass this stupid thing and not have surgery! I feel comfortable with him, and that is important to me. I will update my review when I know what's going on next week. I always read reviews prior to going to a new Dr., So it was important to me- I wanted to make sure to compliment him, and let the person out there that is nervous (like myself before)... know that It will be ok. My husband went to see him ,and dropped a urine sample to be tested for UTI .IT has been a week he has still UTI symptoms very uncomfortable not able to sleep he needs a antibiotic we are still waiting for results to have him put on a antibiotic all this waiting 5 days will just cause a infection worse. read more

Dr. Wong took great care of me during my most recent episode and treatment. I have had Lithotripsies and Uroscopies done many times but never with as minimal pain after the fact as with Dr Wong. He talked me through the whole process first, made time for my questions and concerns, and made me feel like my pain was important to him to fix. I don't normally write reviews but I had a terrible experience with this dr. I can't even begin to explain the issues but 1) they did not have me do a clean catch urine sample. This is STANDARD of care 2) they had to call me three times before they gave me the correct result from my urine test. Each time they told me something different. 3) Nothing he said made sense given what other drs I've seen said. I saw an exceptional urologist for years who unfortunately moved which is why I found myself in Dr Wongs office. Look further. Do not recommend him at all. read more
