First time trying a local print shop and I could not have been more impressed! I needed a 3' x 4' poster same day and they were able to finish the job within 30 minutes. Although I initially wanted lamination, they couldn't do that day of as they had a large order just before me. BUT they printed my poster on thicker paper and with a beautiful gloss. The colors turned out amazing, and the quality -- I've never seen it in a poster before. Absolutely perfect. Even more, when I printed off my poster, I had some really deep blacks. We began rolling the poster up into a tube -- that they provided -- and noticed the ink hadn't quite dried, and it started to rub off. Edward printed off 2 more just to be sure, let it sit a bit, tried a lighter black and it came out still beautiful. They customer service is 10/10 and make sure you're satisfied with your product. I would 100% recommend and I will always use them in the future. It was a bit costly to do same day and such a big poster, but absolutely worth the quality, service, and convenience. read more

After countless mediocre experiences with fedex and staples in the past, I decided to try out Kendall Press for the first time. I am always a little nervous when sending in jobs to get printed because it can get pricey and prints don't always come out the way you expect it to- it makes me even more nervous when it's a large format. However, all of my fears were diminished as soon as I picked up my print. My experience was phenomenal, the staff is incredibly friendly, responsive, and quick! My print came out perfectly and it was really nice receiving updates on the status of my print job. Printing can be a nightmare, but these guys make it into a dream- seriously. I've been working with Kendall for 6 years, originally with Mark and most recently with Jacob, doing training materials print jobs of 10 to 200 spiral bound manuals and accompanying handouts multiple times per month. The quality of their work is excellent and they've always been accommodating when we have tight turnarounds. The few times there have been mistakes, they were quick to correct the errors and deliver new materials ASAP. We've had a very difficult time with a business card order from Kendall Press and I would not recommend their services unless you are 100% sure what you want (stock weight, size, design, etc.). The process of getting a design done was laborious, but these things do happen. We worked with the staff at Kendall Press to come to terms on both a design and construction for the card (we brought in an example card with texture/thickness we really liked from another company). We asked for samples but were told the minimum order was 250. We ordered the minimum to try out the cards. When we received the printed result, we were VERY disappointed to see that the card-stock was not up to par with the examples we gave. It was flimsy and not close to the stock quality we were looking for. One of our associates went on-site to discuss, and was asked to wait for over 15 minutes while they "looked for" the examples to compare. After 15 minutes standing around with no further acknowledgement, she left. A day later, we called to discuss the issue. We were told that the examples were "somewhere" and they'd find them, compare them and show us that the cards we received were up to snuff. This never happened. The examples were lost. We were told "you signed a sheet that said 100# stock.", but the reason we hire a service for this is because we are not experts in stock weight or size. We assumed the associate matched the texture and thickness of the very specific examples we brought in. After discussing the issue internally, we felt it appropriate to ask for a refund of the printing fee (to be applied towards another printing of the cards). We were then told we could only get a percentage back. When asked what percentage, the employee Jacob said we'd receive a return call as he had to talk to the owner. One week later, no call. After following up directly (again), we were rudely told that we'd get 20% back towards another printing, as decided by the owner. When asking to speak with the owner, we were told that he was too busy and someone else would be dealing with this issue. A second request to speak with the owner resulted in another rude response and hang-up. We really prefer to work with local businesses but in this case, I'd say look somewhere else. Kendall Press is not the type of service you'd expect at an in person shop competing with the likes of much cheaper online services. You're better off going online and being disappointed there, at least the computer isn't rude to you after it messes up! read more

Great quality color printing in very high quality paper at an affordable price! Staff was very friendly.

We elected to print our own wedding programs, and after getting a somewhat ridiculous quote from a big national printing chain, sought out a local firm to do the job. Not only did Kendall Press do the job more affordably, but the end result was much better looking AND when we discovered that there had been an error in the printing process, they ran off a corrected batch same-day and had them delivered right to our house. I am not a graphics person, so when formatting with bleeds, etc. I have no idea, they just said send over the source file, which was photoshop, got a proof a little while later, said go ahead but please just change some punctuation on the poster. ready when they said it would be, looked great, no heavy lifting on my part, terrific, not only that they beat the 'majors' on price with customer service that could bot have been better. read more

I live in San Francisco, but work for a company that has a sales office in Boston. I was tasked to find a printing vendor in the Boston/Cambridge area to support the sales needs. After looking at a few vendors, I decided to go with Kendall Press. I couldn't ask for a better remote vendor, to be completely honest. Kendall Press' website might look slightly misleading (hey! feel free to email me if you need a website redesign :)), but they provided an amazing service for all of our needs. They're always on time, and the quality is always great. Not only that, I've interacted with probably 3-4 people from the company, and they're all extremely nice! One time, our double-sided prints came out upside down on one side. I told them about it, and they immediately sent us a new set of prints. I highly recommend this company for any of your printing needs. read more

I went into Kendall Press on December 14th to print copies of my resume because I had an important architectural interview the next day. I followed the signs to customer service. The man sitting in the office under the customer service sign was extremely unhelpful. I asked him if I can print five copies (8.5 x 11) black and white for an important interview. His response was that, "this is not a Kinkos, they don't accept walk ins and there would be a minimum of $50." I asked how much it would cost if I printed a 25 page document (thinking I can print a copy of my portfolio in color). The kinkos down the street was closed and I was hoping I can get a print job in Kendall square. His response was that regardless of whether it's 5 pages or 25, I'd have to pay $50. I then asked how much each page would cost so I can calculate to see if I can meet his minimum. Overall he was rude, unprofessional and I was extremely disappointed in the service. I would never want anyone to be treated the way he spoke to me. I did ask for a small job and he could have just said no in a polite way. Instead he had so much attitude and ruined my afternoon. I ended up leaving and going to another print shop in central square. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to be treated like a decent human being. read more

I am entirely disappointed in their lack of professionalism. I asked for help with a time sensitive project to make sure it would look nice when printed and they ended up charging me TWICE. Once for the first horrible print job and second once it was reprinted. They never mentioned when they offered to reprint that I would be charged again. I would not recommend them due to their inability to see from a customer's point of view who was not familiar with the printing process and their atrociously slow response times. I had my wedding invitations made through Kendall press. They were extremely patient and professional with my rather kooky design, and understood my meaning perfectly. I brought my own paper, purchased at the Paper Source, and they both printed and cut-down all the components of the invitation for me. All the components came back perfectly, and it made the assembly of the invitations a breeze. They cut things down to size for a small fee, which saved me hours of work and frustration. And, they did the entire thing in 4 days! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a printer in the area. They are located in a funny corner of 1 main street, so ask at the desk when you get there. read more

Kendall Press ALWAYS has a nice person who takes care of you. Everyone there who picks up my phone call is nice. Every time I visit there for picking up printed products, I am serviced promptly and nicely. It doesn't matter whether my order is only a small number of business cards or only a piece of conference poster; they take GREAT care of you. Yes they have a well-designed website that seldom gives you a problem. But you can always call them for questions, and you will not be welcomed by the cold "If..., press one" type of machine voice. A nice human with warm heart will answer, "Kendall Press. How can I help you?" Then I already feel that my printing project has already been done. Oh, needless to say, the quality of their products is amazing, and they charge too low for their quality and service. read more

Fast, friendly, helpful, skilled, knowledgeable, professional and a lot cheaper than Kinko's. What's not to like? I've had a couple runs of business cards and a couple of promotional pieces printed here over the last year. The pre-press folks make sure the job will come out right in the end, providing helpful design advice. Mark and others on the staff will patiently walk you through the trade-offs of papers, finishes and processes, providing an education, not just a take-it-or-leave-it list of options. On the first couple of projects I did a lot of comparison shopping and on business cards (color both sides, glossy photo on the back) for example, they came in at about half the price of Kinko's (not to mention fixing up my amateur layout for free). They are real printers who know what they are doing, and it shows in the final product they produce. read more

Poor quality work and extremely overpriced. Had what should have been a fairly straightforward and very small job that involved black & white plus color copying and some scanning/resizing. After giving instructions, got an email with a detailed quote setting out what would be done. Only problem is that it was far from what we asked for - basically Kendall Press wanted to do more work than we were looking to have done. When we sent back revised instructions, the quote came back for exactly the same amount even though they'd be doing less work. When we pushed back on this, they reduced the price nominally but not in proportion to the difference in the amount of work. Because of time constraints, we were out of options and had them do the job. Bad idea. The black and white copies they made were fine but the color ones were atrocious. Colors that were originally soft, almost pastel, turned out garish and over-saturated. Completely unusable. Although we couldn't get the exact colors on our home printer/copier, it was far closer than what Kendall Press did. We wound up throwing out the terrible copies they made and splitting the work between three other places, all of whom did better work for less money. As for the scanning, again, the black & whites were fine but whatever they did to the color was horrendous. They also didn't follow our instructions on what we wanted done in the way of sizing. So not only were we out a few hundred bucks, we lost an entire week and still had to scramble for replacements. Maybe Kendall Press is good with computer-generated images but I wouldn't take anything in there that originated on paper. read more
