We have tried this iconic Noble dinner spot on a couple of occasions. The portions are huge, especially their famous chicken fried steak. Our meals also came with a side salad (good croutons!), mashed potatoes, okra, and a biscuit. The best extra that Kendall's offers is a complimentary cinnamon roll for dessert, and it was hot and delicious! They sell them to go if one is not enough. The service was friendly, and they were taking precautions due to the virus. Everything seems to still be running smoothly. The decor is interesting...lot of obscure posters, news articles, etc cover the walls. I searched the ones around my table, and I didn't know who any of the "famous" people were. I've been dreaming about the food at Kendall's since we went there a few years back. Due to health issues I can no longer travel there right now. I was so excited to read that Kendall's was starting to ship their wonderful cinnamon rolls! I wondered if they'd be just as good as being there in person so I ordered a dozen. There are a few things that are really important to me as a consumer; 1. Customer Service, 2. Convenience, and 3. Bang for my buck. I feel like Kendall's fell short on my expectations as a consumer. My wife, son, and I drove from Oklahoma City (~40 minute drive) to give this place a try. We walked in and were given dirty looks from the host behind the counter. The lady reluctantly put us on the waiting list. My wife and I summed it up to maybe she was having a bad day. Though, that kind of set the tone for the rest of our experience. The wait is about 10-15 minutes. Not bad at all compared to how busy they were. We were finally seated and the gentleman who served us was very polite and attentive. We ordered our food and it was out shortly as well. The food had a pleasant taste. The fish and shrimp was quite disappointing. The chicken fried steak was pretty good and filling. I can't say that it was worth the ~$60 tab, 40 minute drive to there, and the inconvenience of having to use an ATM (because they only accept cash). Pro Tips: 1. Bring Cash 2. Take home some cinnamon rolls 3. Tip your waiter 4. If you're in OKC, stay in OKC (lol) this is more of a place for people in this town. A very solid joint for a southern fried experience. They have been around for a long time and will be around long further I suspect as they were still very busy at an off hour during our trip. Don't let the small town vibes intimidate you, all are welcomed here. The service was fast and attentive, and the food was piping hot. Also, don't forget about the cinnamon rolls, and make sure to grab some to go when you checkout. The only complaint I have is that we got 2 orders of the same chicken friend chicken and mine was nearly twice the size of the second order, and both were the full size portion. Obviously there will always be some variance in home made fresh food, but this one was a bit drastic. Anyway, it was obviously still very good and we ate it all! It is an Oklahoma institution. The chicken fry is simply the best I have EVER had anywhere, and I eat a lot of chicken fry!!! They are huge. They are breaded to perfection. The gravy is AMAZING! The catfish is light and perfect. The sides are just like grandma made. The biscuits are flaky. The cinnamon rolls are like drops of sugar from heaven! Overrated in my opinion. Food was tasty and largely portioned but the chicken fried steak has minuscule amounts of meat within the breading. The chicken fried chicken was better. Pretty pricey for what you get and definitely do not assume the plastic cups are to go because they'll not mention it until paying and then charge $2 for the cheap cup other fast food places give free to go. The last three times I've visited; the cfs was chewy and over-battered. Not cool. If it were chewy the first time it would have saved me some time, mental anguish, and gasoline. Saw this place reviewed in a YouTube video that randomly got recommended to me and can't say I was disappointed. My father loved the chicken fried steak and my meal of the blackened chicken was delicious too. Kendall's is so awesome, it should be considered a historical landmark. The challenge with Kendall's is that they are closed Sun-Tue (due to low customer traffic) and they only accept cash/check. There is an ATM at the very front but it can be a bit of an inconvenience for some. The prices at Kendall's have gone up some but they are still very modest and reasonable. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! They do offer lighter portions for some price breaks so there is some customization. The food though...it's out of the world comfort food that sticks to your ribs. I ordered the country fried steak lunch special which comes with a very large portion of country fried steak (cubed steak battered and deep-fried) that is topped with fresh/hot white peppered gravy, a biscuit, cinnamon rolls, and your choice of two sides. You can even upgrade to include a house salad if you wish. I always get two orders of fried okra with my meal and they are amazing. The entire meal (while not the healthiest of options) just rings nostalgia and southern comfort. I can't recommend this place enough and if you have guests from out of town that want to experience a traditional southern comfort meal, this is the place to take them. After hearing about Kendall's on different foodie list, we made the road trip from Tulsa on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant is located in several old downtown store fronts and upon entering has a warm feel. The layout is very choppy with several rooms of different sizes. We did hear the owner, Dee, telling another couple that they could seat groups up to about 70 if you called in advance. I ordered the original chicken fried steak which is still pretty big. The large is huge and will cover the entire plate. The meat had a very savory flavor and the breading and gravy were on par. The mashed potatoes are made from real potatoes but could use some seasoning. The greens beans looked like they come from a can and are nothing special. Dee was our server and was friendly and the service was spot on. Most people seemed to be ordering the chicken fried steaks since that is what they're famous for, but other dishes looked great as well. Noble is fortunate to have a great place like Kendall's in their town. I probably wouldn't make another road trip, but if in the area I will definitely be back. read more

A family tradition for many years, we are happy to drive 45 minutes one way to eat at Kendall's. The service is quick and friendly, your drink will NEVER be empty, and they offer a warm, welcoming (and clean!) atmosphere... Fun decor in every tiny corner, cozy booths and tables for either date night or a family gathering. We have also entertained out of town business colleagues here and helped them make happy Oklahoma memories. But I suppose you come for the incomparable meal, and it is always wonderfully consistent food. Just delicious. I often have a hard time choosing between a few favorites: chicken fried steak, catfish, a huge salad, or breaded pork cutlets. Huge portions, and I don't say that often, haha! Ok so this place would only lose 1/2 star but bc u can't... do halvsies..... so the chicken fried steak is down right the best thing you can get here next to the cinnamon rolls... so they lost 1/2 the point here bc there is a lot of breading and the meat is very thin in a few spots... like almost not having meat... but it doesn't disappoint bc the damn thing is huge! So yes I would get it again and again. Just finished eating here today 4/10/21. It has been on our list for a while, to try out. It was good, chicken fry batter is good and crispy, chicken fry tender. Mini salads, green beans, mashed potato's are good. Biscuits, don't think they are homemade, but adequate. Cinnamon rolls are yummy & cinnamon-y. Menu price for large chicken fry is $16.99, but we were charged $21.99....something isn't right. I hate when places advertise one price and charge another, without letting you know. They were busy and we expected a short wait, the only thing we ever received was our drinks. We watched 4 other tables be seated after us and get their food in a span of 40 minutes and never received ours. We asked the waitress about it and she said they were really busy and she doesn't know what happened "oh sorry". They weren't so busy to get food promptly to the other tables. I just move to Oklahoma from another state. My husband and I watched several hours of the OK Road-trip on YouTube prior to even moving here since we wanted to know what the state offered in terms of recreation. We found out pretty quickly from those videos that the (unofficial?) state dish is chicken fried steak. Knowing that, we decided to dig into some CFS research and find the place that really made it best and landed on Kendall's. This was a bit of a drive from where we live in the state, but we were both happy about that since we also wanted to take a drive and check out more of OK. First off--this tiny little town is absolutely adorable and worth a trip in and of itself. Second--the service here was hands down some of the best service I've ever experienced. It felt like having dinner at your best friends grandmothers house. Warm and quite hospitable. Lastly, the CFS was incredible. My husband and I kept commenting about how the breading wouldn't get soggy, even covered in some delicious gravy. In short, everything about this hidden gem was well worth the price and trip. We will 100% be back here for some life changing chicken fried steak and fun atmosphere.
