They have a large fenced yard where the dogs can run and they spend time playing with them. We seldom leave her anywhere and they texted us pictures and updates and it was obvious she was well cared for and enjoyed her stay. The other places we had tried she kept to herself and at the Bark barn she was playing with the other dogs and was comfortable in the group. We definitely will use them again and have already recommended them to our friends.

Gabi is excellent with our teenager, very receptive to Lana's needs and she & Karsten take very good care of her by providing tons of play, multiple walks and regular water breaks as needed. I love that they are very good with communication, they ask how we have trained her & use those commands and we get regular updates all day regarding how she is doing. The space is beautiful, clean and green and well-maintained. Their sweet dog Coco is an added bonus and she & Lana got along almost immediately. I highly recommend sending your pet(s) to The Bark Barn if you are in the Westerville/New Albany area. Gabi and Karsten are amazing pet sitters who are very receptive to the needs of your pet and genuinely care about how you want your pet taken care of/trained/special needs - which we found is a rare quality in other over-crowded daycares and which we really appreciate!

This place is absolutely terrible, I've used a lot of groomers over the years, as my family has…read moreowned a Yorkie for 7 years and I've had a Maltese for a year myself. He needs regular grooming so we decided to give TJ's a try. I regret it, they had my dog for almost 8 hours, they told me for 4 hours my dog was in the dryer and no other updates. They said that he would be done in an hour and a half after having him for almost 6 hours, two hours later they had no ETA. At this point they stopped answering their phones, so we had to drive up there and they kept saying "your dog is in the dryer" even though it had been 3 hours since they told us this. You don't need a a license to know a dog should NOT be a dryer for 3 hours straight, nor would an 8 lb dog NEED to be. They told us their only groomer had been gone for the last 3 hours and had not been grooming any dogs, that they'd had numerous owners come and take their dogs without grooming. They offered us a free appointment, but we had to ask 4-6 times for them to just give us our dog back, since they had NO idea when they would even be able to groom him. The only reason they even gave him back was because another irate dog owner came in then, demanding their dog back for the same reasons. I don't even want a free haircut from this place, I don't trust them with my dog.

Animals R Special Veterinary Hospital - New patient exam. On ground due to dog with anxiety.

Two months ago we purchased a show puppy. Even tho we had dogs in another practice , we wanted…read moremore for her. So we heavily researched every nearby vet for this new puppy. We decided upon Animals R Special. Why? Let me tell you: We found this practice to be exactly what that particular puppy needed. Full service, exceptionally trained vets, who are also empathetic vets, exceptional support staff, and also a practice that is willing to titer vs push vaccines/unneeded procedures. We bring in Wanda. She was treated so well and the communication between vet and client so nice; when I got home I told my husband, "we are switching all of them to this practice" they are extraordinary. And that is exactly what I did today. Today we brought in our 12.5 yr old dog Mo. they knew he had anxiety so they prepped in advance for him. The entire exam was on the floor, with lots of love, cuddles, good boys, and peanut butter treats. He was like a completely different dog. Showed near zero anxiety. Thats the kind of vet I want. One that goes that extra step. They confirmed he was in fact super healthy, his teeth fine. The previous practice kept saying he had cancer and at one appt suggested amputating his leg due to cancer (which btw, he doesnt have, it was a lipoma. Aka fatty growth) and wanted teeth extracted (which I thought was odd as he had no problem eating kibble.). So glad we didnt listen to the former practice as Animals r Special confirmed he is completely healthy and needs none of that. Loki comes in next week. So: if you want an honest vet, that goes the extra mile for your animal and really knows what they are doing.... You have found the right practice. 100%. We have seen both vets at this practice and recommend both the doctors. You cant go wrong with any of the ppl here. Seriously, Animals R Special is the winning place to go to because at this practice the vets/staff here are more than special, they are extraordinary. And that is what we all want for our furry friends.... The best!
