The service you receive here is directly dependent on the vet you get…read more I know by this time, I probably sound like the Goldilocks of veterinarians in Hartford County, but with three animals one who will be 15 this year a pet parent has to be picky. Unfortunately, this veterinary clinic like many other others, doesn't offer any type of wellness plans to help with payments like perhaps a senior plan for not only senior owners, but maybe senior pets would be helpful. Another thing that would be helpful is if you're going to prescribe a medication that has to be compounded that you're able to to give resources on the spot to the owner, not just let the owner go off trying to find a compounding pharmacy. Going through chewy is quite difficult because of the Veterinary clinic will not confirm with Chewy over the phone, you have to send the original written prescription to chewy. Can you imagine in this day and age not taking phone calls or texts or emails or something instead of using the USPS, what a ridiculous practice. My poor senior dog needs this medication and is coughing constantly, and this is what this veterinarian gave me? Nothing to help temporarily, but of course wanting to do all kinds of tests after stating "his heart murmur is at a grade3 now, no longer a one". I literally paid what I would pay for myself a Patient First, with x-rays labs and a work up. My daughter recently talked to somebody in Prague, whose cat had open heart surgery for $100, so as you can say healthcare is not only getting bad for us. We're not gonna be able to afford it for our animals either especially with clinics like this one that tend to prey on people, or at least that's how you feel as a senior. Never mind, trying to recoup your money for your overly done, newly decorated office, why not come up with some economic health plans for people in their pets that makes things more affordable that to me would be much more helpful.. especially knowing that you're the one that helped her renovate the office!!!! I'm praying my little buddy can hold out until I get the medication to see if that works but I, again, will be seeking another veterinarian office. But fear not, Harford County is loaded with them!

I am so disgusted and angry with this place. My son and I brought in our 11.5 yr. old chocolate lab…read morein a couple weeks ago. Given her age, we were preparing ourselves for the possibility of having to put her down. She was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis about 3 years ago, something common in older labs. It caused her to gag and cough, especially after eating. However, she began wheezing and she developed a stinky smell so we thought she might have an infection. Obviously, we wanted to rule out anything serious, so the vet suggested 2 chest X-rays and a complete bloodwork panel. A cytology test was done so the exact bacteria could be identified and correctly treated. She did have an ear infection and a leave-in type drop was put in to kill the germs. When she came back out, the x-rays and the bloodwork were normal. She "thought" the wheezing was due to the laryngeal paralysis and therefore suggested gabapentin capsules to keep her calm ( did absolutely nothing) and she wanted to give her a shot of Librela to help with the arthritis in her hind legs. Come on-she is 11.5 yrs old - ( it did absolutely nothing). She fell down our stairs the next am. We purposely put up gates and treads on our stairs to prevent her from slipping. The only problem was she wanted to be upstairs with everyone else. She barked non-stop so we took the gates down. After the appointment, I checked out and $900 later, I left, feeling unsure that Jess, our lab, was really okay. She continued to wheeze on the way home. She was due back on Feb 11 for a check-in. Well 8 days and $900 after we took her in, she passed away in our great room, in front of me and our son. It was horrifying to watch. She was raspy, wheezing, foaming at the mouth, lost all her bodily functions and just passed. She was my son's dog, his buddy. I immediately called Churchville Vet and an assistant answered. She put me on hold and when she got back on, she told me Dr. Kaufmann took a look at Jess' chart. And this is what infuriates me: after we dropped $900 the assistant said and I quote, "Well we're about to close right now; you can take her to HomeBound or Animal Emergency in Bel Air.." I was also told that the vet who treated her would be calling us. It's been 6 days and we're still waiting. I truly feel the vet should have brought up the end of life possibilities. I feel she misdiagnosed Jess, not realizing how bad Jess really was. I feel like we were misled to spend more money and what were unnecessary medications and vaccinations. I have had several dogs throughout my life and you know when they're not well; when you no longer want to see them suffer or their quality of life is not what it used to be. But before doing so, you want an expert opinion. I wasn't going to put Jess down after the visit because we were led to believe she had more time and was not suffering. But only 8 days after that visit, she was gone. I wouldn't wish anyone to see what my son and I witnessed. Therefore, we will no longer waste time and money at this place. Not one ounce of compassion, not a phone call from the vet, but they had no problem keeping $900 and leave our dog to die at home. Never, ever again.

Rachann the owner and her manager Michelle are great working with and communicating. When Max passed recently at 11 due to cancer they sent us a very nice card that meant so much. Maisey (4) has only ever known life with Mac by her side. This caused nervousness, confidence issues , and upset tummies for a few weeks. They were nice taking her up day camp with no notice and seeing that she got a bland broth and rice diet to help. Now her new little sister Cammy (10 months old) a rescue from North Carolina is getting her shots and stuff to clear the way for visits. Everyone from their staff can't wait to meet her. What my wife and I love is that they love our puppies nearly as much as we do. I wanted to say thanks so much for your care and compassion with Max! It made an impossibly hard time a bit easier knowing that he impacted their lives and to know they were sad as well. If you anywhere near Mt Airy and need day camp or boarding it's worth the extra ride. We pass 3 places and the way and had multiple bad experiences before we found Mariah Belle. Thank you and Regards! John & Kaye

This is the best place ever! Look no further! Fun, fun, fun!…read more Based on my vet's personal recommendation, I've been taking my high-energy Vizsla here for over a year since he was a pup. Our neighbors all trust Mariah-Belle with their dogs too. My dog loves the Day Camp activities. I've also boarded my 11 year old terrier and young Vizsla for long weekends. The staff catered to both their needs of spoiling and medicating my older dog and playing with my young dog. The owner and staff all truly love dogs! It shows in everything they do! You can really tell when your dogs jump out of the car and run to the staff! They truly care! Another reviewer commented on an illness outbreak earlier in the summer. If you take your dog to a park or a kennel, you are taking a risk. My young dog did pick up a virus only once in the last year. It wasn't kennel cough. And my older dog didn't catch the virus. It stunk to see him sick, but we humans pick up various colds from time to time. That said, I've never seen an owner be more diligent in resolving a problem. The staff immediately called to check on my dog. The owner called all the local vets to identify the type of virus and then immediately implemented a specific cleaning regimen to kill that particular virus. I've been kenneling my dogs over the last 25 years at a number of places. I trust Mariah-Belle Manor! My dogs love absolutely love going to Mariah-Belle!
