Dr. Yau was referred to us by some of our friends. They also have him for their child or children. My son was seen by Dr. Yau from day 1 at the hospital. It always a pleasant when we are at his office. His staffs are very nice, courteous and knowledgable when I ask certain questions. For busy working parents like myself, appointment(s) are VERY important. I have never miss any appointment(s). We were always seen within a few minute of our appointment time. I like the fact that we can also email his office for non-urgency questions. If ask, I will definitely refer Dr. Yau to any new up-coming parents. Our children are at ease with his gentle, jovial personality and actually look forward to their appointments. Dr Yau is so soft spoken that our 6mo old is always mesmerized when he talks. He patiently waits for the parents to finish up on all their questions before carefully examining the babies. He is actually a Pediatrician. i found out about him through searching online for the nearest Pedia in my place. He was also the only one that accept new patient that day. When i called and told the lady on the phone why my baby needs to be seen that day,(red eyes) she sounded concern and schedule me the next open time. When i got there, the office was small only 3 exam rooms but a friendlier atmosphere than my other doctor. I felt comfortable right away. I was acknowledged right away and filled up the forms. There were only 2 patients that time and didnt wait long, less than 10 mins, to be called. Knowing that it was my 1st time there, the lady that was checking my baby assured me that Dr. Yau is very good and nice. And she is right. The moment he came in to the room, all his attention was to my baby.. He made my baby comfortable so he can check her without fussing. He would give his stethoscope to my baby so he can check her ears, he will talk to her and make her laugh so she will open her mouth.. I think it was the first time my baby enjoyed a doctor's visit. My husband and I didn't have alot of time to look for a doctor prior to the delivery of my son. We had lots of recommendations but the doctos were too far away from where we lived. We happened to come upon Dr. Yau by chance with the nurse at the hospital and per me yelping for "pediatricians". Dr. Yau is a very sweet and gentle pediatrician. He's also quite funny. The office staff are friendly and nice. They are open on Saturday and has scheduled for my son to come in the day of when he wasn't feeling well. The waiting room is small so it takes up the whole room when there are a few strollers in there.The medical rooms are colorful. I love the room with Finding Nemo. Unfortunately, I cannot take my son to see him further as my husband and I not happy with the nurse that manages the immunization shots and the pre-check up prior to us seeing Dr. Yau. The nurse doesn't seem like she likes working with babies as she doesn't work well with my son who is now 7-months old. When measuring him, she doesn't know to massage his legs for him to stretch out but instead she just measures him as is which gives him an inaccurate height measurement. We've seen Dr. Yau about 4-5 times now and each time she tells us my son is a big boy after weighing him. Really? Did I ask you for your opinion? What matters is the Dr's opinion and Dr. Yau states that my son is doing well on the curve. She doesn't know to adminster the oral medication that is part of his 4 & 6 months checkup as she just squeezes directly into his mouth which then causes him to spit it back up. Overall, she doesn't appear gentle when working with my son. The office is part of a medical building so there's lots of patients coming in/out. Such a great pediatrician! Dr. Yau was our preferred pediatrician but due to a change in insurance, we unfortunately won't be returning for a little while. He is EXTREMELY kind and friendly towards children. He remembers past conversations and ensures that your child feels comfortable in his care. Although at times there is a slight language barrier and he does speak very softly, so you may have to ask him to repeat his statements a few times. I have taken my son to see Dr Yau for some shot recently. I really don't like his office assistant named as Ms Tiffany when she did the shot to my son as a strong way. I felt my son get more hurt compared to doing it with other nurse. I wonder how many years she worked for this doctor to do shot to kids but she usually gave me some unprofessional advice whenever I asked for doctor's prescription that led I couldn't get doctor's prescription. read more

I have 3 daughters and throughout the years and having seen multiple pediatricians, I am used to doctors coming in, doing their usual observation and wait for you to ask questions. With Dr. Yau he just fills you with knowledge as soon as he walks in the room. He will point things out that he notices on your baby and tell you what it is, if it's normal and what to expect. He usually answers all my questions before I even think to ask. What impressed me the most was that even though I hadn't notified him about being pregnant with my 3rd daughter since she came 2 weeks early he was still at the hospital to check up on her the very next day and also the day after. He truly enjoys, loves and cares for all his patients. I also love how he is with my 11 year old. He talks to her and asks her questions as if she were an adult and it made her feel more grown up and comfortable. He even managed to make her laugh which is impossible with my "tween" Office staff is very polite and professional as well. The reviews for this DR tell no lies. :) I saw him in Yelp and made an appointment right away. I was very impressed by his professionalism but yet child-like personality towards my toddler. His office and my son were comfortable. He recommended me to take my son to school district for assessment for speech. He is a blessing because they found so much more that he needed assisitance with during his assessment and is now on his way to a structured goal to help him be close or be as his age group should be. Today is our first visit at Dr. Yau's office. The clinic is very clean and staff is so nice and patient. There is no waiting line and Dr. Yau met us 10mins after we checked in. He is extremely efficient and professional. You could tell he loves kids and he is so gentle to my child. My child is very sensitive but she likes him. I brought my son to Dr. Yau based on Yelp reviews however this office is not the right fit for my family and I. I've worked in a medical office before so I have high expectations for the front staff. His front staff are the worst. They have never said hello or given me instructions on what to do. I had to be the one to ask what the next steps were. The last time I brought in my son, no one said hi to us. Instead of asking who I was checking in, the girl stood up from her seat to look at the sign in sheet to see who the patient was. Not only is that rude, the sheet displaying all the patients from that day is violating HIPAA laws. The front desk people need to work on their bedside manners. Here are some of the reasons why : 1) Clean lobby and exam rooms 2) Super nice staff -- very friendly and patient to kids 3) Wonderful doctor Doctor Yau really takes time with each kid. I wanted to start off, I love Dr. Yau. "I'm sorry this 1 star is for you unprofessional MA" If it wasn't for Dr. Yau, I wouldn't be coming to this office. Everyone is very friendly except this older Filipino lady "I believe her name is Thelma". She was very rude and unprofessional, doesn't give you any eye contact or greet you. Anyways, make my long story short. When it was my son's turn for the checkup, she shouted out his name from the corner which we didn't respond because we didn't see who was calling his name. Then, she opened the door and shouted out his name again then asked my son to step on the scale instead on checking his weight she stood there looking at her iPad leaving us like an idiot "we were clueless what is our next step". I specifically opted for PPO insurance for the last 28 years to take my kids to see him. 4yrs ago my daughter had severe stomach pain, Dr Yau quickly suspected possible appendicitis and a few hours later she was recovery from surgery - they removed it just before it had burst.
