I feel like Kenny is probably the best in Austin if not the entire state in terms of knowledge with this industry. I have been going off and on for over a decade. He knows the regulars by name and you feel like you are not just shopping but that he genuinely cares about what you want. He always throws deals to me for being a loyal customer. This store is the holy grail for Hot Wheels collectors with rooms of wall to wall pegs full of Hot Wheels. It's truly amazing to see in person. They also sell sports cards and other sports memorabilia, but those personally aren't my thing, so I can't speak to that too much, but if that's your thing I think you'd love it. The only negative I can think of is the prices. The pricing here varies quite wildly with some things being a reasonable $2 - $5, while others are $10 - $20 for things that are CONSIDERABLY cheaper online and currently available for sale at Walmart/Target for just under $2. If it wasn't for the prices I would give this place 5 stars. read more

Was visiting friends in town here, and their son loves collecting. We stopped in here and there are so many rooms full of different collectibles, cards, and you could spend hours in here. We are from WNY so I am a huge buffalo bills fan. I went to the back room, and found the "loose card" box and sorted through them. It was in a little bit of disarray, so we took the time as we were sorting through what we liked and what we didn't to make sure they were all organized and put into the box nicely so the next folks can go through them and keep it nice and clean. Being the age that I am, I took many of the 90's era cards that I saw so I could just reminisce about the super bowl run and what could have been. I also found a Josh Allen card in there that was supposed to be $3, but cards in that box were listed for .25 each. My friend's son and I bought a bunch of items, I put it on my card and Kenny was so kind he basically told us "this is your price" and it was fair. I'd fly back here anytime from Atlanta just to keep looking at some of the items he has. I have a few friends that are big collectors and I bet they would spend hours here sorting through what they think is worthwhile. I love supporting small businesses. I don't consider myself a collector. I don't have card protectors, or even a box where I have the ability to keep cards safe. But I still made my purchase and have them now here, enjoying the memories even though the Bills blew the game vs. the Vikings. Support small businesses! Kenny's is something that is generational, and timeless. Bring your kids here, or come in and see if there's anything that piques your interest. I'll be back! read more

Very unprofessional. Smelled moldy as soon as I walked in and the old dude with graying dark hair wouldn't stop gawking at my girlfriend and even made an inappropriate comment on what she was wearing. Over crowded, poor customer service, super small, and confusing layout. I usually go in to look at hotwheels and/or trade them. so we went in today and he didnt even look before telling us that he wasnt interested. hes had the same hotwheels for months. nothing new. nothing good. when we brought it up he got offended and told us we were the people ruining the hobby, when hes selling mainline $1 hotwheels for $20. we didnt even mean to upset him by that comment but he started to get upset and it caused everyone to look at us. read more

Please don't let your significant other come into Kenny's store and buy unopened wax at 2.5x of normal prices. My wife went to his shop to get me a present for my birthday a few days ago. He knew of me because I've been going to this LCS for over 14 years, even at his old location on St Elmo. Anyways he knew I primarily collected basketball so he showed her this box of 2022 Prizm Draft Basketball H2. The box was marked at $150 but he gave her a discount pretending to be a nice guy. She agreed and paid and brought the box home. I opened the gift bag and saw the sealed box. Out of curiosity I asked her how much she paid and then told me $120 plus tax so around $125 out the door. I immediately knew that could not be the correct market price and looked up comps on eBay and they were regularly selling for around $50plus tax. I then messaged Kenny about this and he confirmed she did pay that amount. I then told him what they sell for and he was noticeably upset that I began questioning his prices and said that he has overhead and that he can't compete with eBay and that sellers on there pull big hits out of cases and sell the rest of the unopened boxes, which could happen anywhere even card shops. I then looked at Steel City and Blowout for their sell prices and they too are between $50-$55 for the same box Kenny is selling at $120. He initially offers me a $20 store credit and I told him I wanted a full refund, he agrees and throws in a few snide remarks and told me upon inspection I'll get a refund and I can continue to buy on eBay. Well I returned to his store today, as he was having a card show within the shop and I finally get to the counter, he inspects it, looks for the purchase and tells me the refund will be back on my wife's card in about 24 hours. He then tells me I am not welcome back in his store anymore and I said alright, (thinking in my head I'll never do business with him ever again anyways). It also seems I'm not the first person he try's to take advantage of with his pricing in the other reviews on here. I won't ever be back, this is a bad business and Kenny is terrible at conflict resolution. Stay away, don't bring your kids either. Unless you enjoy being ripped off. read more

I just recently got back into sports card collecting, and this place is like a collectors paradise. Multiple rooms that cover so many hobbies. Most of the store is dedicated to sports related collectables, jerseys, cards, wax pax, hobby boxes etc. But there is a ton of stuff from movie collectables, coke bottles etc Entire rooms are dedicated to hot wheels and those starting line up sports action figures. But the coolest part of the store for me is the huge lounge type rooms with sports playing on the TVs, and just tons of cards to sort through and buy, and I mean tons of card. Lots of supplies for your collecting needs, top loaders, cases, sleeves etc. I will say this, the owner Kenny seems hell bent on having the best sports card collecting shop in the country, he is dedicated to providing a great experience and it shows. Front room highlights today's hottest cards of the best players from all sports. Second room offers a pickers dream for $0.10 cards with thousands of cards sorted by team for every sport. Have fun but be ready to be surrounded by others on the same hunt for great singles. Kenny's card show is worth driving 2 hours from Houston for. Why? I recently moved back and began frequenting the new location on Todd Ln., and I'll tell you what, it's incredible. I am over 40 and I have NEVER EVER been to a shop that has SO MANY AWESOME cards at EXCELLENT prices (extremely cheap prices for GREAT cards). Lots of room to spread out and check out BOXES and BOXES of cards from EVERY sport.
