I was already displeased that my shoes weren't ready when promised but then I was handed back a shoe that wasn't even fixed!! I hope this place never goes away. There once was a time when people bought a nice pair of leather shoes and took care of them. Chances are no one ever taught you to polish your shoes. No worries. This place will shine and repair your shoes for a fraction of the cost of new ones. If you are clearing out your parents home and come across a pair of great old wingtips, bring them here and they will have them looking like brand new. They repair any leather goods too. I brought in a 50+ year old pool cue case just like the one Paul Newman had in that pool movie. Kenny repaired it, and when I asked if he could polish it up, he said "Sure, but if you buy this jar of polish, you can do it yourself and save some money." Honest good ild fashion service. I had two pairs of heels that each needed a new heel tip, and I was psyched to find a local place to get it done, imagining how responsible I would be with my wardrobe in the future: having my shoes re-soled, heel tips replaced, boots undamaged from water. I travel for work, so I asked someone to drop them off for me, and they told me about the 50% down, cash-only policy. Kenny (?) said one pair would be $15, the other $12, and they would be ready in a few days. I thought it sounded a little steep for such a quick repair, but since 50% was already paid, I thought $27 sounded reasonable if I could get another few years out of the shoes. After all, I had only bought one pair a few months before, and had just had an unfortunate run-in with cobblestones that broke the heel tip. Cut to a few weeks later, when I pull out one of the pairs to pack for a business trip. I had worn them exactly three times since he repaired them, and the metal in the heel tip was poking out. I was super upset, having just had them repaired, but thought I'd just bring them back with the receipt and see what he could do. Well, I couldn't find a receipt. I brought them into him anyway, he told me it would be another $12. I tried to point out that he had literally just fixed them, they should have lasted longer than a few wears. I relented after he just stared at me in silence, and agreed to pay the $12 again, determined that I would get a receipt and get a refund if the same thing happened again. It took him exactly eight minutes to fix them, I paid, and asked for a receipt. He acted like he had never heard of a receipt, I tried to explain that I wanted proof of payment and he said, "I don't do that." No thanks! That's the last time I'll ever use his business! You must not be very confident in the work you do if you're afraid of giving out receipts in case people come back. read more

If you don't mind spending $120 to have the soles and heels on your $300 Cole Hahn boots replaced, this is your place. If you don't want to spend $70 to have the half soles on your $120 Johnston & Murphy's replaced, it isn't. Long story short for a silly $10 repair: This repairman used the wrong part for my hiking boot repair. I expressed dissatisfaction, he responded with "Well, I don't have the right part" and charged me anyway. I paid him, choosing not to argue about $10. My solution? I bought the correct part on eBay and replaced his work. What took him 10 min took me an hour, it's not pretty, but it is secure and my boot is now back to its original function. As you might guess, I'll repair it myself before I take any more work to Kenny. read more

Soooo I have never written a review but in this case it was time. I think when there is good or bad service it should be recognized. I was so glad to find a shoe repair shop in this day and age. You used to find them everywhere when i was a kid. I took my shoes in to have the soles glued back on. One was worse than the other but he proceeded to peel them apart which left me no choice but to have both repaired. It was expensive and i did pay cash up front. I picked them up in a few days and all was good. The first time I wore them I noticed the heel had peeled a little, something I didn't notice the first time around. Did I do this this or was this done so I can come back for more repair. When I bought in my shoe and explained what had happened he said he wasn't paid to repair the heel and it would cost me again as he proceeded to peel away the whole heel. I explained it should have been repaired the first time around but he disagreed. I left knowing I would throw away these shoes than have him take advantage of me again. I hope people read these reviews and make the right decision to walk away.......get it? read more

One of my boots were switched with another customer's pair, exact brand and style, but different size. I brought them back, but he denied that he made a mistske and he wouldn't take my phone number in case the other customer calls in to report her switch. Had a zipper installed into a pair of western (cowboy) boots. He did a great job. Only took three days. It is a small business so no surprise that it is CASH ONLY, 50% upfront and 50% at pick up. I received a new pair of Cabela's boots for Christmas but for some reason the ankle area was smaller than my many other pairs of boots. It was a fight to get my feet in the boot. Adding the zipper solved the problem to slipping the boot on. FYI, the shop is located in the shopping plaza. P.S. I will be coming back with more business. read more

I own quite a few few pair of very nice, very expensive shoes (Allen Edmonds). Previously, I sent them back to the manufacturer for repair and refurbishment, which was expensive and took 6-8 weeks. I decided to see if Kenny was able to repair a pair and he did a great job, as good as the manufacturer, at a significant savings in both time and cost. It wasn't a fluke, he's worked on at least another half dozen pair, same high quality work. Now my family and I use him for all our leather repairs and restoration.
