I went to Cappy's to get leather sewn on my sneakers - a relatively easy task. I left my shoes (2 pairs) there for about a week and they still weren't finished when I came to pick them up. The leather was sloppily glued on and then sloppily sewed over. It was incredibly lazy. They also forgot that I had paid up front the week before. Be careful using their services. Very disappointing. I was referred to Cappy's by another shoe store in Springfield, Pa that told me Cappy's was pretty good. So, on 3/25/2022 I decided to try Cappy's out because I was in desperate need of some shines for several pairs of shoes I had. When I arrived at Cappy's I was greeted by one of the workers named "Nelson". And I told why I was there and what I needed done for the 3 pairs of dress shoes I had. Nelson was attentive and examined all my shoes and even made a recommendation of needing a new sole on one of my pairs of shoes. So, since I just mainly needed the shoes shined we just stuck with that transaction. I explained to Nelson that I needed at one of my pairs of shoes back by 3/28/22 and he said, "No problem I can get all 3 pairs back to you by that Monday shined". So, on 3/28 I came back to his shop around 4:30pm and he was finishing up all 3 for me. All in all, he did a decent job on them but I was more impressed with the price and the turnaround time. So, I'll definitely continue using him and Cappy's in the future. read more

Took in a brand new Chelsea boot that came with a pull-on tab that had not been properly stitched in place. Had I not known beforehand what and where the boot needed to be fixed, I would not have been able to tell afterward. Nelson's repair was indistinguishable from factory-fresh, the price reasonable and turn-around time acceptable, given the volume of work the shop handles. Five stars! read more

I'm usually the type of person that when something breaks, I throw it in the trash and replace it. However, I really didn't feel like replacing my nice leather boots. This is my go-to shoe repair place in good ol Lawrence Park shopping center. If you don't know that it's there, well, you're not going to find it, because it's behind the shopping center, in a little business park. So now you've found it. You step in and you immediately get hit in the face with the smell of what I'm assuming is shoe glue. But please, don't give up yet, just muster through it. I think I must be a hard walker, because I wear out the bottoms of my heels way too quickly. But Cappy's always does a bang-up job with making them look new. And it's cheap and totally worth it. You don't always have to buy new shoes, especially during these economic times. Just rejuvenate them! Usually when I go there, it's empty and one person is working there. I was just there last weekend and there were three employees and just as many customers. A true sign of a recession if I ever saw one! read more

Pretty good service! First time going to a shoe repair store, so I have nothing else to compare it to. They replaced the heel of my boots and re-glued the tip. For one pair of boots, these two services cost $30.00. Again, I don't have any other experience to compare this to, but I originally bought my boots for $160, four years ago, so to me it was worth the money. Cash or check only. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place, yet. This is an old-skool shoe repair place. They do men's and women's shoes. They also, I think, do other clothing repairs/refinishing, so don't be afraid to ask. They also make keys ($3)! I think it was about $13 per shoe to get my shoe re-heeled. I think men's shoes are $2 more/shoe. Or, it's $11 for women and $13 for men...I forget. Either way, not bad. And then you can keep wearing your favorite shoes! Service was great, they worked with days that I could come when they were open after 5. It doesn't seem like the later you wait to pick up, the cheaper it is (like with tailoring or dry cleaning), but it's not a bad price and they do a great job! Very pleasant to talk to and seemed sincerely interested in getting me the results I wanted. The chemical smell when you walk in is a bit overwhelming, but you're not in there for long and, again, the results are great! read more

I need heels on my shoes occasionally, but I mostly go to Cappy's because I routinely scuff my leather flats. I have no idea how I keep doing that--guess I'm clumsy. I've tried polishing my shoes at home, but the scuffs still show somewhat. I take my shoes to Cappy's twice a year and they look almost new. read more
