We did to want to do the nude portion of the spa. We spent four hours at King Spa. WE checked out all the rooms plus the ICE room. It was so relaxing and I did fall asleep a few times. Upstairs they have the Meditation rooms . Those rooms are the Oxygenated room and an infra red room. On the first floor they have a theater room, a salt room, a gold room, a sun room, a charcoal room, other rooms and a cafeteria area. You can also pay for a massage. Most of the massages were 60 minutes for 120$. I will definitely go back and take my husband there on a date. Love it!

When we went on a weekday night, it wasn't crowded, so it was good. The rooms are interesting and generally relaxing. The spa services are expensive. Like the foot reflexology is more than double the places I've been. My friend did really enjoy her scrub, so if you get a service, they are good. Look, I think it's important to pay people a good wage and I value spa services, but these just seemed high.

I have been a frequent patron of this spot for over fifteen years. For most of that time , I would…read morehave described this banya as heaven on earth. However, new ownership seems intent on slowly ruining this treasured institution. When I heard that the owner of Red Square had taken the Sweatlodge over, I braced myself. I no longer patronize that place due to experiencing a rapid decline in the quality of service and facilities. It turns out my apprehension was valid. In short order, Sweatlodge started going downhill ... - The satellite radio was the first to go. No more chill blues or jazz, but a local radio station that plays obnoxious commercials half of the time. - The wood in the saunas was replaced with much cheaper material. No more pleasant smell of cedar when you walk in. Also, there are exposed screw heads throughout the benches of the dry sauna, which have burnt me numerous times. - The zero gravity chairs that were perfect for a nap have been replaced with uncomfortable wooden chairs. Word is that the owner grew tired of fixing them. But somehow this wasn't an issue for the nearly 20 years they had previously been there. - The ice machine was taken out, and the water tank replaced with a fountain that is often lukewarm. - The sand filtering in the cold plunge was replaced with chlorine. The pool is often much warmer than it should be, especially in warm months. - The food portions are much smaller while meals grow more expensive. For example, I got the chicken soup most of my visits for a decade and a half. It was the best in the city. Now, it is a medium bowl of thin broth. featuring an anemic chicken leg and thigh with a few slices of carrot and potato thrown in - for $17. It was previously served with a small, fresh baked loaf of bread. Not anymore. - The cafe hours have been limited to save on payroll. It doesn't open until well into the afternoon. - Last time I was there, a sign proclaimed that you could request only one extra towel. (This was a classic Red Square tactic. Nickel and dime bullshit.) - 10% service charge added to all services. - One of the TVs had disappeared from the wall last time I visited. All of this while the admission price steadily climbs. I have still visited, but much less often than I used to. An unpleasant surprise has awaited me every time. I will probably pop in once in a while, as the heat is still good, and the plunge still satisfies (when it is cold). The staff is friendly and competent. This is the only reason for my second star. However, I am sure it won't be long before the penny pinching results in an underwhelming experience I refuse to pay for. Many men have been patronizing this joint for even longer than I have, but I would would imagine that they have their limits and will begin to drop off as well if this continues. Really disappointing and a true shame that new owner is ruining this magical place.

The location was clean and everything functioned generally appropriately, but I was chilly the whole time while floating (full body goosebumps) so maybe it was just me, but could not really get the peace I was seeking. Additionally, the music in the tank never started/was broken so 3/4 way though the lights and music came on, which the staff said would indicate the session is over. I did think it was early so turned both off, but they started again so I got out. When I was shampooing my hair I got a knock on the door that I still had time left to float. I was already warmed up in the shower so opted not to go back inside. They gave me 10$ offer because they said the music and lights were malfunctioning. Not the worst thing ever - stuff happens. But , when I first got to the location for my appt, I arrived to the address that was on Apple Maps (the same place I clicked where I initially booked the apt) it took me to the "wrong place" they informed me upon calling. I had walked to the location initially but then was informed the correct location was 5 miles away. I almost cancelled because I didn't want to start a spa moment on a negative foot. But I rallied and managed to make my way there by borrowing a friend's car, and there was zero acknowledgement of the call when I arrived. Not looking for a discount but at least a normal conversation! I chalked it up to them being new and still working out the kinks, but pretty sure this location is over 7 years old. At least put the correct address in your initial confirmation message with a warning to use google maps vs Apple Maps since it was clear they've had that discussion many times before. Alternatively, offer a great product that no one can argue.

There are also open shower rooms (like gym showers) next to the sauna and on the third floor by the gym. There's a dry sauna by the gym as well. The rented rooms are well maintained, with mirrored walls, flat screen tv (with porn channels) a lock safe and bed ideal for sweaty activity. I especially appreciate the water fountains with mouthwash fountains as well. The facility is three floors, with dark rooms containing swings, slings, glory holes, and play areas. You have the option to rent a locker for your clothes and belongings, or rooms which have lock safes inside under the bed. Great variety of guys every time I'm there. Keep in mind that when there are themed events there is often a line to get in, stretching outside and down the street. But it's a fun place to get naked and enjoy yourself. Also, you cannot bring any bags or backpacks in--only nap sacks with essentials like a change of clothes and flip flops. Your bag will be inspected before entry. No drugs or drug paraphernalia are permitted. If you bring video head cleaner, it will be tested before entry.

The night before my interview I was told that the exact position I was applying for was given to someone else, but I was still encouraged to interview. That was only the beginning of the strange things... I arrived on time and the General Manager asked me to wait 10 minutes in the locker room while he finished something. Fine enough for me; I knew that I would've been happy with this job (the hours, the work, the benefits), but that I could do much better elsewhere if things didn't work out. Finally, the GM sat me in his office across from his computer screens, one of which showed his two dogs. He continued to work. I asked, "You have dogs?" He said, "Yes." I said, "They're very handsome." He finally looked at me and asked, "What does that mean?" I told him, "on your screen" to which he seemed surprised and said, "Oh, sorry. Thanks." As if this weren't odd enough, he asked me in the middle of the interview, "So you're married?" I told him no, never. And he proceeded to tell me that he isn't allowed to ask that question. I pointed out that he already did (my ring on my ring finger), that I wasn't married and he should move on. But he proceeded to tell me it's illegal to ask, and he didn't want to know and he went on about married and coupled employees who had problems because of it. I assured him I wasn't married. It was the most uncomfortable interview that I've ever had, and I'm hoping that someone has it on video. Sounds like something isn't right at this place?

I tried something new yesterday, an experience that came highly recommended. It turned out to be…read moresuch a remarkable experience that I think I need to share it. I spent an hour in a tank today. Huh? I stepped into a float tank where I experienced something called "flotation therapy." It's relaxation through sensory deprivation and believe me, it is relaxing. What is a float tank? Think of a shallow bathtub inside a phone booth. The tub is filled with water that is charged with Epsom salts. The salt content makes you buoyant so your body floats easily in ten inches of saltwater. I arrived early for my appointment because it was my first visit. There is paperwork to complete (electronically, welcome to the 21st Century) and I sat in the relaxation room to do so. The spa is a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly guides who explain everything you need to know about your service. I entered the therapy room and in a cozy area, I quickly undressed. I stepped into the shower and washed off the daily grind, then carefully stepped into the chamber. It is lit with soft, blue light and relaxing synthesized music plays softly. I switched off the light but since music is a major part of my life, I let it play. (If you prefer, you can shut it off or you can play your own music through your cell phone via cable connection.) The experience of floating in total darkness is weird at first, but it didn't take long before I could feel every muscle relax and let go. I could also clearly hear the music underwater when my ears slipped below the surface. (Optional earplugs are provided and no, my face was never near submersion.) I had no sense of time passing. In the dark, and it is very dark inside the chamber, I felt sensations of movement. The chamber is, of course, small so my fingers, toes and the top of my head sometimes contacted the edge of the tub but I felt a sensation of motion like I was floating in circles. If I had to compare it to something, I would say it felt the way I imagine it would feel to be an astronaut, floating around the International Space Station or a Gemini capsule. My mind was racing for about half of the session but in a good way. Eventually, I felt a sense of peace sweep over me. Others who have experienced floating say they actually fall asleep. I don't remember falling asleep, but I do remember being very relaxed and all sense of time was lost. When the time limit was reached, a white light gently illuminated the chamber, signaling that my time was up. I stepped into the shower and washed off the salt, then quickly dressed and returned to the lobby. For that 75 minutes, the world simply melted away and I was simply floating in space, in my own private universe. Afterward, I was totally relaxed and could understand how a strand of spaghetti feels. I look forward to my next session, too! If you feel like you want to try this unique relaxation therapy, send me a private message and I'll give you the pertinent details. It's a luxury you owe to yourself.
