He told me the breaks were fixed ($70) but he was sure it also needed either s new motor or battery, he was going to charge me $150 to diagnose the problem. I said no, we would charge the batteryand then see what happened. I met some of the finest people as my daughter was part of a swim team there and we rented a place out on the lake. I have only written positive reviews about great service up to this point in my life, but unfortunately, I think I need to say something about this! I had an unfortunate situation at the local bike shop 'Dakota Outdoors' as my road bike broke this summer, and I had to have a warranty bike replacement shipped to me thru Dakota Outdoors. I must of had four members of the swim team's parents worn me to be careful with Eric, the owner and his son Desmond. They own the store, and they all warned me the same thing! 'That Eric & Desmond, will up charge you when you get your bill, as they had done it to them!' The fact that I trust people I didn't think much of it but they were 100% right. The day I had to pick up my bike, Desmond, took my credit card and charged me, but at the time, told me he couldn't give me a receipt because his computer was down and his printer wasn't working. He said, "I will email it to you". I thought at the time the amount was high. Two days later, I get an email from them and sure enough, he a jack the price $200 plus tax. So if I figure it out correctly dakota outdoors, over charge me like $226 with taxes, so I picked up the phone and called. The owner, Eric, answered the phone and I said, Eric, what you did was incorrect and you know it, I told him, I paid $2100 for the bike as he had sent me the invoice for it 2 weeks earlier before it was ordered. I said, you jacked the price up to $2300 without me knowing and billing me for it. His explanation to me was, "you know I had to do a few emails and a phone call for you, so I felt I had the right to charge you more!" I said, oh really that's how you do business? His response to me was, " I'll send you $30 and we'll call it even, how's that sound." I told him not a chance either he refunded me the whole amount or he would hear from me down the road. This is my first of many responses. Eric, screwed the wrong person! I guess since I was leaving that day to head back to Wisconsin, it would be ok to F me. As it gets towards the Thanksgiving and Christmas spending season, I want the good and honest people in the beautiful town of Aberdeen SD to know that if you go in that store, Dakota Outdoors, to purchase something you better triple check your receipt! Unfortunately, in the world we live in, there are allot of cons. I just didn't expect to have them mixed into the good people of Aberdeen SD.

    I have to disagree with a lot of the negative reviews I see on this website. Seems to me that…read morenobody planned ahead on getting their snowmobile gear. Suddenly it turns cold or you get a little snow on the ground and everyone starts pulling their sleds out and thinking about new riding gear about a month or so before the season starts. Then... they put off buying their gear until "Black Friday, Nov.28th" when the rest of the 140,000 unprepared idiots also place their orders. Then... They all get pissed off and act like children when they don't get their shit within 4 days. I know how it goes, I did the same thing as I just described. Face it! All of us bought a lot of stuff at one time. Hell! I imagine we emptied First Place Parts racks out of damn near everything with the exception of the bright pink and lime green jacket and matching pants... which they have to stock for the "I want attention" guys. I received most of my order and I'm still waiting on one item. I had to return one item that had nothing to do with First Place Parts, it was my deal. I emailed them on Sunday requesting a refund and on Tuesday, they sent an email stating that my account would be credited. I dealt with Sierra and I couldn't have been happier. I would imagine that they are receiving 4000 calls, 6000 emails and 3 to 5 truckloads of stuff to inventory and ship every day. Before you write a nasty little review you might want to walk a mile in their shoes.

When you phoned it said that the mailbox was full and no one would answer and I sent an email and did not get a response for 2 days. Then I was just told sorry for the delay but your package has not shipped without any explanation as to why I was not contacted or why it had not shipped. I sent another email to ask why and they tried to blame the vendor they order from. It is now January 3rd and my package has yet to arrive. I would have canceled but I was to scared of not getting my money refunded since you can not talk to anyone. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Seriously Dec 13th and nothing..... Its Jan 3rd!!
