We turned on our pool solar to heat up our pool for our granddaughter who is recovering from recent knee surgery. Surprisingly, squirrels had done their damage over the winter, so the system sprang a big leak. A couple of years ago they installed a new system for us after a storm blew our original system off of our roof Last weekend we noticed a leak coming down the roof and they responded quickly. They explained that tree squirrels were biting on the hoses to get water and that caused the leak. They suggested we trim a couple of trees to limit their access to our roof. Had a very bad experience with this solar pool installer trying to schedule a consultation. Unfortunately his response was no better. If you are okay with coming out to meet with me alone and provide a quote, but not okay with meeting my wife alone and providing a quote (who is also a 50% homeowner and decision maker for our household) then you are a Chauvinist. His claim of wanting to meet with me on a saturday is a complete lie. The minute I asked why it was not okay to provide a quote with only my wife present, he responded because it would be a waste of my time and Im not the contractor for you. You can try to cover up your unprofessional behavior after the fact, but to all the homeowners out there, I would not recommend supporting this type of business owner who clearly has no respect for women. read more

In 2020, Ken's Solar removed my old pool solar panels and replaced with new, he also removed the old timer clock and replaced with a new control panel. Installed a variable speed pump too. Everything ran swimmingly. Fast forward to now, I recently started up the system and saw one of the panels leaking. Called Ken and explained the problem, he came out right away and fixed it. Ken arrived exactly when promised for the initial consultation as did the installer Andy on the day of installation . They even bumped up our start date, which was a great surprise. The entire installation was completed in just one day, and they went above and beyond by upgrading some of our pool equipment based on Ken's expert suggestions. I love the upgrade because now our pool equipment runs much quieter and we no longer have the chlorine pucks floating in the pool dispenser with the new holder (holds 8 pucks) they installed at the pool equipment. May, 2024 I contacted this company to repair a leaky PVC pipe to the solar panel for heating my pool. I had several calls from the owner's son, trying to convince me that the pipe to the solar panels was the wrong size. It has been working fine for six years. The metal band around the pipe had worked itself loose. $225 to re tightened the band, no other work or checks. When he finally comes to my home, He tries to sell an entire new solar heating system for my pool. He suggested that I remove the downward drain pipes to the panels. If I did this, he would come out once a year to drain the solar panels at a cost of $300. Guess what, I had another leaky pipe July 2024, and found an outstanding company, Supreme Swimming. He fixed the leak, tested all the connections and re set the pump speed which had caused the problem. The bill for all this was less than the bill from Ken's. read more

We needed to replace an aging solar heating system for our pool a few years ago and had a great experience with Ken's solar. Kenny came out to prepare a quote and walk us through the installation process. On the day of install they showed me how to turn the system off and on, and gave me basic operating instructions. The heat generated by the system has been great and we're now able to use the pool for roughly 2 months longer than we had before replacing the system. Recently we had some rodent damage to the tubes (they were chewing on them to access water) and Ken came right out to repair, and importantly, show me how to repair next time it happened. He was kind enough to leave me with a repair kit so that I had all the tools required to fix it should we encounter this issue again. These guys are great and very responsive. Called Ken's Solar to install a solar heating system for the 24k gallon in ground pool we had built over the winter. Ken provided great information over the phone and was flexible in scheduling an appointment to come out and give me a quote. On site, Ken did a great job explaining how a good solar heating system was sized and went up on the roof to verify measurements he had estimated online. The final quote was right in line with his initial phone estimate. The crew showed up promptly on the install day and completed the project ahead of schedule. It was threatening rain that day so they did have a bit of incentive to move quickly. The guys also did a great job of reconfiguring the automation equipment for the new solar capability and explained how to check and change things in the application. Ken also came out and checked the final job, answering a few additional questions I had. About two days later, I did notice a small amount of water at the bottom of the gutter downspout so I gave Ken a call. He had someone out the next day and confirmed there was a small leak and that it had been fixed. It isn't clear to me whether it was related to the manufacturer of the panels or the installation, but more importantly Ken's team quickly addressed the issue. The system has been up and running for about a month now without issue. Most days the pool is easily 10 degrees above air temperature and we were enjoying a weekend swim as early as April! I would definitely recommend Ken and his team for any solar pool heating work you need done. read more

Service was great, and the equipment worked flawlessly. About two years ago I developed a small leak and called Ken for a service call. I was completely prepared to pay for the repair, but the tech was able to fix it under warranty. At the time we discussed the future possibility of getting a new roof and what I would need to do about the pool solar system. This past year I finally replaced my roof. The solar was still working fine but I wanted to install new equipment instead of messing around with the old stuff. I called Ken Sr. And he came out and did an estimate. The price was right. Ken's team was able to coordinate with my roofing company to get the system removed and replaced. When I had a minor problem with the new system , he squeezed me in and got everything fixed right away. I've always found this company to be professional and courteous. Don't use this company. I had Ken's Solar Heating install my solar back in 2006 and I was happy with them and the installation at the time. My issue with this company now is their lack of response to some repairs I needed. Over that last couple years I have called them on 3 separate occasions only to have to leave them a message each time asking them to return my calls. Never once have they return any of my calls. They certainly don't want your business. The solar system that they installed was leaking, and it took 12 phone calls, four weeks and three truck rolls to get addressed. Didn't bother testing the system in the end, because they would have noticed that the solar sensor is defective and thus the whole system shut off. The same sensor that they replaced less than a year ago, but never assumed any warranty over it or even acknowledged that they could replace it. Fast forward a year and all pipes are leaking again. My new guy came down from the roof with a sample of why my pipes keep leaking: some genius used ABS pipes instead of PVC, thus guaranteeing their demise. As if they wanted to guarantee repeat repair business. If you like prolonged pain, go with them. read more

I replaced my pool gas heater with the solar recommended. Overall, the price is reasonable and the installation was smooth. The water pipes running from the roof to the pool are 25 yards apart on the ground were white white. They looked ugly and so visible in my backyard. I complained and they accommodated it by painting them black. The biggest problem with this firm is the response time during, and especially after the installation. It took at least 3 days after you placed a call or email. Right now, I just turned the system back on after the winter and not sure if it is working because the water does not warm up. I called and emailed a few times for the past 3 days with no response. With this kind of customers support, think twice before you choose a vendor. read more
