I was at my wits end with the problems with our 2 year old pool. We used a service in the past but after a major issue started taking care of it ourselves. Jon (the owner of JOC) came by on Sunday and gave me a quote. We talked for almost an hour. Jon is very knowledgeable with the pool service and chemistry. I hired him to do the pool service right away as I feel very comfortable that Jon will be able to do great job. He checked the chemical balance and the pool filter. As I thought the filter is in good condition based on the water pressure gauge, Jon indicated that the gauge is not a good indication for the condition of the filter. He opened the filter and found a lot of dirt in the filter cartridge. Jon cleaned the filter cartridge and added acid into the pool. I measured the chemical balance after running the pool for a few hours. I turned out to be spot on. I needed an emergency pool service and I called John the day before Easter. Miraculously he came out to inspect the pool, and he ended up giving me about 3 hours of his time to do emergency maintenance. He cleaned out my cartridge filters (that were never serviced), he identified electrical hazards with the pump (that did not have a cap to protect wires), he deep cleaned the pool and used many different tools to blast away the black algae. Frankly, he saved our pool from some major damage, and from owner-neglect, and from past pool service people that were not owners, but simply workers who just spend the bare minimum time never testing anything.
