We scheduled the first visit and after a week I find out they didn't schedule me correctly first time, now we move another few days backward. They show up one day and disappear for few days, no show on schedule time and at last with the job being incomplete, they tell me extra visits gonna cost $85 per visit eventhough it was their mismanagement. Sometimes we don't know what time our technician will be arriving. We have dogs and that was difficult to know what time to lock them inside. He finally sort of made friends with the dogs so he can just come in the yard to do the service now. So other than that glitch all is good for the service. read more

We had a disappointing experience with them. We bought a new house with a pool. We were new to pool maintenance and we really wanted a company to start us off on the right foot. George was super friendly and helpful so we agreed to everything he suggested. Among other things, he added Chlorine, and also did a Phosphate treatment. The phosphate treatment caused the phosphate to crystallize and collect as sediment at the bottom of the pool. They told us to just run the pump more until the water was clear again. Well, 5 days later the water still wasn't clear and the pump was struggling. Low Buck was supposed to send someone to clean our filter and check on it. Later in the day we still hadn't heard from them so we called. Apparently someone from Low Buck had come to clean the filter, but couldn't get our pump to work so they just left. They didn't try to call us or anything. Anyway, we ended up calling another company to get a second opinion. They said that Low Buck never should have left that much phosphate sediment in our pool, they could have just vacuumed it up for us. Our pump finally stopped working so we had to get it replaced. They also tested the Chlorine and it was off-the-charts too high, not safe at all. It's now been two weeks since Low Buck's first visit. The new pump is working great, but the Chlorine is still way too high. We're waiting for it to eventually break down, who knows how long that will be. Now, I can't say 100% sure what's Low Buck's fault or not, but here are the facts: - We told them we had a pool that hadn't been serviced in a while, but they sent out someone who wasn't equipped to even clean our filters - They left our pool full of phosphate sediment and didn't do anything to help clean it - They showed up, found things wrong, and didn't bother to call us and let us know - They somehow added too much Chlorine Maybe there are reasonable explanations for some of these, but overall we just didn't feel like they were offering the level of service we expected. Anyway we're not working with them anymore. Oh, and one last thing: it's a good thing we called around because we found several companies that provide the same full service as Low Buck but charge less. Low Buck is definitely NOT the best price in town. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!! I never write reviews, but this business is so bizarre, i have to warn for the good of the other sake! DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE YELP 5 STAR REVIEWS!! THEY SUCK YOUR MONEY BEYOND REASON! 1) They take advantage of people who does not know pool chemistry, if you are someone who can understand pool chemistry, they will stop the service for you as its not profitable for them as they can not charge you for silly things 2) I paid them 650$ for pool re-fill and chemical balance of the pool, where they do not even fill the pools we need to do it, and took more than 4 weeks to balance the pool chemistry. But guess what invoice comes even before the service done, and she has no clue if that chemical is added or not, so if you are not home, you are getting overcharged for service that's done 3) Zero communication between POOL Service guys and the management team, when I said the POOL is not balanced even after the fourth week, the owner has no clue what's going on, and the most idiotic thing is they are ready to charge for monthly. Maintenance where they did not even complete the service for the 650$ I have paid. Just bizarre company, they take advantage of people who does not know much about the pool chemistry and screw them over with very high prices for such shitty service they provide. 4) They forgot to add calcium but charged me for that, so I had to call every-time to get the invoice fixed. It's not worth the hassle. 5) George was very nice on our first visit and that's the only positive thing overall, rest all of the experience was a nightmare. The new pool service team fixed the chemistry in a week because guess what they know what POOL chemistry means!! 6) They have hired bunch of cheap labor and taught them basics of the pool chemistry and send them for service. You will be lucky if you got someone who understands and does the balance methodically. 7) They asked me to drain the pool complete pool, if you ask any professional they would say partial drain is enough, but these suckers has no clue and kept on saying that it easy to fix chemistry, I am glad that plaster did not get damaged, but having pool empty for hours can cause the plaster damage and as expected they have no clue whatsoever. I warn any of you to go with this company, if you are remotely smart and half a peanut size brain, you can figure that they are not really that good at pool maintenance and just sucking up the money. read more

we hired Low Buck to do start up service after our pool remodel by Coral pools. Carlos was wonderful to work with throughout the process and the pool looks great! right after he completed the service .I switched to spa from pool and all was fine then the pump quit. not knowing what happened we immediately called Low Buck at 5:30 on Friday evening And to my amazement they got back to us within 30 minutes. worked with hubby to try to diagnose. when that failed they promised a technician in the am. George showed up and quickly worked to debug the issue which was not related to start up but instead to an aging electrical connection to the pump. he fixed it and it we were up and running in less than 24 hours on a weekend! service to the max! My pool was filthy due to my backyard renovation project. There was so much rocks and dirt that fell into my pool from the renovation project. Also, my pool equipment was turned off for about 5 weeks due the renovation project. So as you can imagine, my pool was very green from the algae growth. Not to mention, there were literally hundreds if not thousands of mosquito larva in my pool. I called several places including Low Buck Pools. I spoke to Jackie over the phone. She was very nice and professional. She asked me to send a few pictures of my pool so she could have one of the guys provide an estimate. I received an estimate within the same day. I decided to go with Low Buck Pools because although their price wasn't the cheapest, they were extremely courteous and I trusted their professional opinion. I wanted to drain my pool to make sure all the nasty organisms and gunk at the bottom of the pool would get sucked out properly. A few other pool cleaning companies really insisted on saving the nasty pool water without even knowing what was at the bottom and not to mention the many mosquito larva swimming in there. George came out the next day to do the initial cleaning and drainage of my pool. He was extremely nice, very knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with. He assured me I made the right decision to drain my pool. He also gave me some tips for maintaining my pool as I do the maintenance myself. After the pool was drained, Ricardo came to do the final clean up of my pool, which included hosing down the surfaces of my pool, chlorine wash of my pool and pool cleaner/sweep, and removing all the mud that had accumulated at the bottom of my pool. He cleaned the pool very thoroughly. After I refilled the pool, Ricardo came back to rebalance (e.g. add the chemicals) my pool. He even added D.E., which wasn't really discussed in the initial request for this job. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the pool drainage, cleanup, and rebalancing of my pool. Low Buck Pools are a very professional pool cleanup and maintenance company. They were in constant communication with me via text to let me know who was coming, what the next steps were, and made sure everything went smoothly. I highly recommend Low Buck Pools! I called these people because of all their good yelp reviews and they came out and gave me an estimate of approx 400.00 to bring my pool up to par for their standards as its been totally maintained in the past but I said what the hell I think of it as a start up cleaning fee. we agree to 195.00 on a monthly service and I get the invoice before they even start working for the service fee and the monthly fee and I go Wow this is weird to get an invoice before they do anything. I look at the invoice and their charging me 245.00 instead of the 195.00 and on top of it she says they will be out Friday to service my pool and sends an invoice and I call her and say did your guy come out today to service the pool n she says No, I say why do you send me an invoice n not a phone call to advise he did not come out and She says it slipped her Mind.. Never slipped her mind to send me an invoice before she came out though.. I just cancelled service with them as they were very expensive and didn't like the chemistry.. Buyer Beware!!! Was referred by coral pools paid 1200 for a startup and water balancing . Pool was never scrubbed correctly according to the pool plaster/pebble tech installer. Pool was left very dusty and dirty and plaster stuck in the outlets of pool. Pool catch baskets were not cleaned until we complained , lady on phone was rude about 2nd 600$ payment and we told them we weren't gonna pay until they cleaned it. finally vacuumed on last day but it was not 100% owner was friendly but wish service was a bit better I had to remove plaster rocks and dirt from bottom of pool read more

This is an update of a previous 5 Star review. Unfortunately, I was REALLY let down by George and his "crew". About 2-3 weeks ago I noticed that my pool was looking awfully green one day and realized that I hadn't seen Low Buck for a couple of Tuesdays. I immediately called on a Monday and was told their employee was out on an emergency and someone would come that week. Fast forward to Thursday, I called again and was told this time that they found out that their employee just stopped showing up to his route several weeks ago and now they were in a bind. I completely understood and asked when they could come out the following week and was told "too bad, so sad, we cannot service your account anymore". I was pretty surprised! What happened to the great guy I gave a 5 star review to? I explained that we were really in need of our awesome pool guy because the pool is now turquoise and we are getting ready to list the house for sale in a few weeks. I also reminded them that I wrote them a really solid Yelp review (below) and that I would tell the new owners about their great service but none of that mattered to them. I was told again that they could not and would not help me. However, George was kind enough to refer me to his good friends at Legends Pool Service who he assured me areclose, personal friends of his and they would take great care of me. Fast-forward to the following week, Legends came out and said the pool is so bad that they needed to charge me a whopping $600 to fix the pool that was neglected by the no-show crew at Low Buck. I was shocked to say the least. So....I called George and spoke to his wife and let her know that we need to share in the $600 burden given that I had already paid Low Buck to keep the pool in shape. I was told that they would partner with me which I was happy with. Unfortunately, the folks at Low Buck have ghosted me so I can only think they do not value their Yelp reviews and clientele. I wonder how many other people they have ghosted in response to their employee issues? SUPER unprofessional, guys. How disappointing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We have lived in our home for 13 years and have had a number of people take care of our pool for us over the years. But George is by far the BEST! Our pool has never looked better and Low Buck makes it easy to do business with them. We love George's attitude, his knowledge, and his reliability and the office staff is great as well.
