Beware of this company! We hired them for a routine chimney cleaning in November 2022. After several scheduling delays, he finally arrived and, after a brief inspection, told us that he did not have the proper tools to complete the job. Blaming creosote buildup, he said we needed the replace our fireplace insert and install a special liner. He charged the full $260 fee, although no services were performed. We clean our chimney every 2 years and never had a problem like this, so we checked with the company that referred us, only to learn that Kent Chimney had run the same scam on six other customers. They are no longer referring customers to Kent. We subsequently hired Advanced Chimney Sweeps, Inc. who performed the cleaning without a problem and inspected the flue with a camera to ensure its integrity. Our chimney was starting to fall apart at the top and after getting a couple of quotes we felt the most comfortable with Kent Chimney doing the work as they have been in business the longest in the area.
