I stopped by here to see what they offered, which was one of very few businesses in the area. I found a very nice trail mix, which included espresso beans, dried fruit, and chocolate. It basically had everything I needed to sustain me for my 1.5-hour drive to El Paso. I also made a quick pit stop, and I found the convenience store to be clean throughout. Most other patrons were either truckers on a rest stop, or other commuters travelling between cities. The cashier was friendly, and gave me some good local tips. After resting a bit, I moved on toward El Paso. This was a convenient stop, I'd recommend it if you find yourself in the area.

The ladies restroom…read morewas filthy, actually disgusting; & what was so disappointing was that there was a checklist on the wall that said an employee had just been in to clean 15 mins prior! There was no ice in machines & employee told several customers ice machines hadn't been working. Floors were filthy and store smelled of musty water from dirty mop. Upon leaving the store, we overheard a male customer complain about how filthy men's restroom was!! We will not be back! So very disappointed!

The men's bathroom was closed, so Womens was "unisex", there was urine in pools on the floor, and of course urine and feces everywhere imaginable. Disgusting. Guess since they're in the middle of the ride between El Paso and Ruidoso/Cloudcroft, they know ppl stop for gas anyway, so absolutely no incentive to keep the amenities usable. When I informed the ladies at the front counter, they just stared at me with a smirk. Just absolutely disgusting.

I'm from FL and have a lot of choices back home but I couldn't be more impressed with Cowboy's. Great wait staff (friendly and accommodating) and the food was plentiful and perfectly prepared. The owner and chef knows his way around a steak! Totally tender and flavorful and he has his own marinade secret (I guessed the ingredients but I'll leave that up to you:). Very reasonably priced and worth it. Full salad bar and all included in the menu price. Do yourself a favor and try it!
