This place has been a seasonal staple for decades and with good reason. Orchards are fun and bring…read morea lot of happy memories with both activities and smells of fresh baked goods and fresh fruit. I find it hard to pick a fresh pie or food sometimes because the flies are all over everything. You can't wash fly poop off your pie. But the staff is friendly and welcoming and the place is generally well maintained. They hold events, have all kinds of seasonal activities for the public. I look forward to buying a basket of apples and other delicious treasures there every fall. It's great to see families, children having fun there...making new memories. This place has given a generation of wonderful memories to a lucky few who have shared their time there. It's truly an orchard, country store and a country experience.

I had a friend who drove us up here from the city, which was not a bad drive at all. I chose this place mainly because they don't charge for parking and admission fee like other orchards that think they are a theme park. There were lots of apples to choose from and sample. Not sure if we were allowed to sample but that's what I'm accustomed to doing .you buy a bag at a flat rate and fill it up to the top with apples and that's it. It was a nice stroll for the day before we headed to the pumpkin blaze later that evening. The fresh apple cider donuts were delicious. I wanted to get my mom fresh apple cider but it had to be refrigerated asap so my mom missed out. lol there isn't a corn maze or tractor ride but it was still a fun family experience. Next time I'm in the city during fall I will definitely come back.

Open on the 2nd Saturday of each month through September, 9am to 2pm, this inaugural year features a smallish group of the tastiest the region has to offer, showcasing quality foods, organic produce, flowers, and handmade goods. The last market of the season will be on September 14th and it's worth a special trip. Set in one corner of the massive Croton Falls parking lot, there's plenty of parking plus easy accessibility via Metro North. This market may be physically smaller than many others, but the contents are huge. Small enough to visit every vendor, big enough to satisfy every taste.... This past Saturday, in addition to live music and a row of picnic tables, the vendors included Macha Thomas teas, locally grown fresh flowers from Wild Iris, lathed pots and bowls from Platform, French cured meats from Larchmont Charcuterie's Chef Daniel Teboul, unique hand pies and very tasty breads from Katonah mainstay LMNOP Bakery, the most colorful batch of mushrooms you've ever seen from Tivoli Mushroom, a stunning array of fresh fruit and veggies from Fino Farms and DG Farms plus many more. Finally had a chance to go apple picking with a group of friends at this lovely, sprawling orchard…read moreduring Fall Festival Country Music theme weekend. There was a lot going on throughout, including awesome live music, hot apple cider, farm store filled with gourmet products, multiple food vendors, pumpkin cheesecake tastings, and of course the vast orchard where all the apple trees were, which were all located uphill. There were over 10 different types of apples, such as Mutsu, Evergreen, Macoun, Snapdragon, and Honeycrisp. I mostly collected the more unique kinds. I also managed to locate the Pear trees, way behind the hay riding area. I picked Asian and Bosc pears. We went on a hay ride, which was $5 and it was rustic, bumpy, giving a sweeping view of the beautiful orchard grounds. Back in the main area, we had lunch. By this time, lines were pretty long, so we divided and conquered, as well as found a place to sit. I shared Pork Ribs and Fries, which were both very tasty. The Ribs were delightfully tender and well seasoned. Fries were perfectly crispy. One draw back was that most everything at the store and most lunch items were quite expensive. Overall, there were great vibes, and I really enjoyed the views at the farm, apple / pear picking, as well as the hay ride.

They didn't do such a good job sprucing the place up - the configuration is still such that I feeel like I could walk up to the counter and ask for three lotto tickets. I was going to dismiss the place until I tasted the blackberries and strawberries I bought. I'm not sure if they are grown locally, but they were of the perfect ripeness and sweetness. So much better than what you can get in any of the neighborhood supermarkets. The selection of fresh veggies is also pretty good, so it is definitely something to check out if you're in the area.

There was plenty of parking on both sides of the road, and there were no tickets or admission charges--you just wandered around the orchard. You could buy a bag for picking apples and pears, and they had a huge variety of apples. There was also a field filled with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. They have a store with pies, jams, and all things apple. Prices in the store are moderate, but the quality and freshness is tops. It's a fantastic place for families, and it's a wonderful way to kick off the fall season!
