Come for the donuts! Yes it's absolutely worth the drive from wherever you are coming from. All the baked goods are amazing! There are a few places in the area, but this one is great. No cover charge and I could eat a dozen donuts. We got the scones and apple strudel as well. Both 12/10! The apple cider is also off the charts. Some of the best I've had. The pies are super fresh and I wanted one of everything! They post that they sell at local DeCicco's as well but can't confirm if it's all flavors... No u pick apples but they have every variety imaginable in the stand and all were fresh like they were picked that day. Plenty of other farm fresh veggies and honey. There is also some spots to eat outside and a food truck with some pizza and bbq options. The road to get here is a little rough. Super narrow and some spots where only one car can pass at a time. There is a parking lot and street parking available. Would very much depend on the time of day and year you are going but we were able to get a spot in front at the end of the day. The food truck outside is painfully slow. It took about 20-25 minutes to order food and then another 30 minutes to get the food. They have some bbq options at this location. Around 2pm, they were sold out of pork and wings. Live music outside (country) and several picnic tables outside. Bathroom is an outhouse. The donuts are good - they're the fried kinds. My fave place to shop in the area- year round! Obviously, try their apples, you will not regret it. Their pies are, according to our friends, the best ones they ever had. Their apple cider donuts and apple sticks never disappoint. They also have a nice selection of local honey, jams and many, many more items. Stopped at this farmers market/bake shop and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance inside is that of an indoor country store. They had vegetables, baked goods, especially apple cider donuts, pot pies, Shepards pies, soups, quiches, etc. they have candy, teas, fresh made coffee. We stopped in and ended up spending over $100 on food/vegetable/pies/baked goods/tea/coffee. The checkout service was excellent. You need to bring your own bag or pay for a brown bag. There is something about this shop that reaches into the best parts of my childhood where I would either go with my friends, school, or family to pick apples and look at the growing pumpkins. This shop has a vibe that feels like home and the employees are very friendly and informative if you have any questions about the ingredients in a product. I have tried a few things from the shop so far, and everything is delicious. The honey mustard dressing tastes delicious and I used it to cook my salmon last night. Such an adorable dog-friendly market to come to in the fall. It's not a place to go Apple picking (the orchards aren't open to the public), but you can buy buckets of their apples, fluffy cider donuts, blueberry scones, apple sticks, corn muffins, breakfast sandwiches, honey and more at their shop. Their hazelnut coffee is delicious and their secret weapon is their food "bus" outside that serves the wildly amazing bacon-egg-and cheese sandwich packed with crispy hash browns on a crispy English muffin. insane! The best apple cider donuts around! They also have a large assortment of pie flavors including strawberry rhubarb, raspberry & 4 berry. Some flavors come frozen to bake at home or in smaller portions. They also sell chicken pot pies, local produce, jams/jellies and assorted dried goods. They generally have a large variety of apples to chose from in the Fall months. Love this family owned orchard store. It is a little treacherous to get to especially in the winter months but they are open year round. This year I did notice that they are offering honey from their bees on site which I didn't have a chance to grab. If you are into making mead at home they offer 5lbs of honey at a reasonable price ~$40, we love it for baking. FYI, They do not offer apple picking! I'm so glad that I rediscovered Salingers this summer. I went for a Cherry Pie and came out with so much more. Tim Salinger was so friendly, helpful and runs a business with excellent baked goods, fresh produce and fruit, plants and flowers and country store finds. One day I went for in another Cherry Pie and they were out. I was reminded to call ahead and they will hold one for me. So as not to disappoint my husband Tim sent me home with a Frozen Cherry Pie that I baked. Every dessert that I have tried was delicious, prepared foods also made in house and delicious, fresh corn, vegetables, fruit also are top notch. This is a local gem. read more

As noted above, no greeting, no how can we help you, nothing. It felt as though we didn't exist within the store and when we asked for donuts, no pleasantries whatsoever. They were better last year but still a solid orchard to pick up fresh foods and grab lunch. I'm not a fan that they're very lax on covid protocol but everyone is different I guess and this is upstate NY overall. No one wears a mask here and I saw an older white woman walking around COUGHING with no mask and the staff said nothing. Anyway, apple cider and apple cider donuts are solid but I swear they were softer a year ago. We loved their apple tea cake last year but they seemed to have stopped making that so that's a bummer. Their other tea cakes are good as well luckily. "The bus" outside makes solid sandwiches but takes a long time to make. And with the amount of bees hovering the table, we found a lot of people like us were too scared to even sit and took our foods back to our cars. What happened to this place? Family have been going there 25 years. The apple pie was terrible, the pumpkin pie even worse with a crust so under baked, we couldn't eat it. Given wrong type of the donuts - 12 of them and they were average. The jams still taste good. And the Empire apples - 2 huge bags for $22 are great -- So bake own pie and apple crisp. Go for the apples. On plus side - 5 stars for this- they have not raised their prices crazy high as other farms and none of the crazy admission fees. read more

Stopped by this morning for an apple cider donut fix - it was my first time at Salinger's Orchard! As soon as I arrived I was given gloves for safety and then had the opportunity to walk around the store. All of the employees and patrons were properly dressed/covered and many of the stations were manned to ensure multiple people weren't touching non-packaged goods. So it's my 2nd time coming here. The first time last year was pleasant. But today, October 5th 2022, my boyfriend and I visited again. It was the rudest experience I've had in my life. And I never complain. First of all, the older lady working the cash register is dry and emotionless. Would get irritated for asking simple questions. Now here's the worst part. The guy working behind the Bakery counter (where the donuts and muffins were) is the rudest associate I've met. He got offended when we didn't want a sample of the cheesecake. And when my boyfriend asked if they do refills for the Apple Cider, the man replied "Does it look like we do refills? Do you see a damn sign saying that?" And walked away. My jaw literally dropped. We spent over $100 today and feel gross supporting this "family business." Will be telling all of my friends to steer clear of here. And never recommend it ever again. read more

The young ladies at the shop We're so very accommodating and even assisted me with getting my groceries and my mom to our vehicle after we enjoyed a scoop of Jane's ice cream and several bites of the tempting pastries they have on display. My only disappointment was that we could not get anything savory such as a sandwich or other lunch items. My expectations were probably too high for that, but they still aren't a solid four stars for fruits, location and ease of entering and exiting, and the beautiful service that the ladies at the checkout gave me. By the way, the young lady who helped us to our vehicle. By the way, the young lady who assisted us to our vehicle is the twin sister of the cashier and doesn't even work there. Been coming here for a very long time because we liked the small family feel, the bees and the sense of being on a working farm. We have always loved the baked goods. This year I have gone twice---once I bought an expensive basket of Jonagolds and the other time I got a new variety to me red apple. Each of the baskets were awful. The apples were not crisp but rather mushy with an awful mouth feel when you bit into them. With the red apples, I had figured I just didn't know about the varietal and chalked it up to my mistaken purchase. With the Jonagolds, it was a variety that I knew and had many times before. These were the biggest disappointment of both buys. Not sure what is happening at Salingers as I see more and more food options and fewer apple options. Don't think I want to go back. I believe that I am the 4th generation in my family to come and visit this place. I was a little unsure of giving them 5 stats, because their prices tend to get a little high, but then I remembered their OMGmazing apple cider donuts! So they get a 5! Their donuts are out of this world! I don't know what they do with them, but I travel from the NYC area atleast once a year just for these donuts. I usually bring a few dozen back to work with me, and some of my coworkers now travel there just for them as well. This is a nice little bakery, the highlight is the donuts made in an ancient donut making machine! They recently added chive and cheddar scones which is so buttery delicious! They have apple and raspberry sticks, apple and blueberry turnovers, a few types of scones. I have tried them all and omg! Their muffins are pretty good, they have about 10-12 options to choose from, im not the biggest muffin person, but my wife loves them! Their apple pie needs a little sugar, I have not had the opportunity to try their other pies yet, but look forward to doing so! I wish that they made a mini pie, because event though I love pie, I cant eat a whole one by myself lol! Their produce is always fresh, and they always have unique types of hybrid fruits and vegetables that they have randomly throughout the year. The donut peaches are so good!
