Underneath has some pretend items for smaller kids to play in. Multiple slides including one enclosed 2 story slide that is a favorite of ours. 2 additional stand-alone slides, a geodesic dome, swings... plenty of things for everyone to play on! There is also a couple of baseball fields that are catty-corner to one another with some grass in between. There are two tennis courts that are in really great shape and two basketball courts that are usually open. The park is adjacent to the Haverford College nature trail which is a nice way to extend a park visit or change up the walk to and from the park. Parking is a bit of a pain in the butt, only street parking however it is worth the hassle.

When I visited they were packed with visitors for a Saturday soccer game. Cars lined the drive, overflowed onto the grass, everywhere. Still, I was able to get a spot in the parking lot for the playground, which was really nice and considerate of the soccer people, because I would not have been able to visit if I had to lug my toddler from a spot on the lawn of the other side of the park. This park is amazingly clean for the volume of visitors, and everyone was polite and respectful, except for one older boy on the swings at the playground who dropped the f-bomb (and then looked at me to see if I would yell at him for it, LOL). Grrrrr. The playstructure is standard, and as I've recently seen by exploring all this twp's parks, similar to the structures at the other twp playgrounds. They got some bargain on these climb-on dinosaurs because they're roaring from all corners of the township. My son loves to pat them and roar, so they're cool with me! This isn't a park for hiking or other exercise, but for the league sports, and playground, it's a-okay!

Like 10 feet high in the air, these horrible things that kids can climb on and rock across a big gap. No safety precautions again. No nets, no barriers, and no attendants. What happens when a kid sticks a finger in the hinge at the bottom? What happens when a kid falls off, 10 feet up, onto another? Bottom line is this park is made of high quality material, looks new, smells new, yeah, very new and shiney. But everyone involved in designing and approving this park should be fired. It's filled with deathtraps and should be torn down.

Darby Creek Trail is what it says it is. It's a trail that runs alongside Darby Creek. And given…read moreits proximity to the creek, that means many critters hangout around here. And THAT means if you are walking a doggo, as I am wont to do, then your doggo will have ample smells to snoof. It's made worse by having a beagle, as the beagle is notorious for smelling all the smells. Makes for a very slow walk! But the trail is well kept and paved. There are trash cans and recycling cans here and there. Dog poop bags at the beginning of the trail, so no excuse to not pick-up after your pupper. Trail is about 1 mile long. So down & back = 2 miles. There are markers every 1/4 mile if you don't want to go the whole way. Solid trail. Perfect for walking the puppers and letting them snoof. Siskel & Ebert give it 2 thumbs up.
