Such a great park in Delco! My PopPop lived around here and I used to come here every Christmas to see the lights. It's been a while since we've been back so my mom and I decided to come last night. It was so lovely and the Christmas display was just as charming as I remembered. The park isn't huge, so it is really manageable and a great spot to bring kids. The lights are bright and there are some great photo ops! They have wooden cutouts of Charlie Brown, Santa and the reindeer, and the nativity, that are so nostalgic for me. They've been there ever since I can remember! I had such a great time looking at the lights and look forward to coming back!

It's a fine little park but there's not many walking paths. Really your best bet is coming here for a picnic rather than a walk (and definitely not a hike). They do have lots of events throughout the year so maybe you can find one of those to attend. It's fine for being a little park.

My husband and I came here for the Christmas decorations. It was a lot smaller than I remembered from when I was younger, but it was still cool! They wrap the trees in lights and put up other decorations like Santa and the reindeer, a nativity set, etc. It is nice to walk around and see all of the beautiful and bright lights. Since it is not too big, it is a great place to bring kids and not worry about losing them in all of the excitement. There are also great photo opportunities too!

My grandchildren and a husky with a nice person!

We went to the light show tonight and it was beautiful so much fun for families and friends. Plus we saw a lot of people walking their dogs and pushing their babies! Merry Christmas to everyone and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Nice park. It has several parking areas, playground, a big open field, and quite a bit of wooded area.

This park is amazing especially if you have your dog with you and it has a long walk and trail that you can go on.

What a cool place, and area overall!…read more We came for the band - BIG SANDY AND HIS FLY RITE BOYS - but ate there as well. I loved the chill (mainly) black decor and space! The food itself .... I ordered a catfish po boy and subbed the fries for a side salad. The side salad was plain, yet very good. The sandwich was interesting ... not on a long roll (but a burger bun) and only a small piece of catfish was present. It had some tasty "mystery" ingredients. It was kind of good, just not what I expected. (I was still hungry afterward too) ... The band - BIG SANDY AND THE FLY RITE BOYS - were phenomenal! Incredibly smooth voice and such talented musicians!!! Great (professional) sound and "Sandy" was super interactive and damned funny, plus nice too! The opening band were very good as well! (Forget the name!!!) Every single band member of both bands were dressed impeccably and looked amazing. What a pleasure to be vibing with these crazy talented men / bands! My honey is friends with one of the guitar players in BIG SANDY and I loved meeting and talking with him (Ashley)! He made his guitar alive - it sounded insane! Id love to come back for them again in the future or to see another band and to explore this adorable area (lots of quaint shops). Bring a sweater and don't go too hungry!

For those purposes, this is a sweet little escape in a relatively quiet part of the borough. The park is designed to be functional, and packs as much into the L-shaped acre as is reasonable. There is hardscaping and of course horticultural cultivation. One corner appears to have mini-amphitheater seating for talks or small performances, perhaps for classes to gather? There is a paved path that weaves through the park, great for strollers. There are currently no rules listed so I'm not sure if bikes, skates, boards are allowed? For me, this is a fun little loop off of Fifth Street as part of a longer walk, but I'd like to sit and enjoy some time too. This park is dedicated to black families who live/lived in Media, and their histories as they pertained to the town. I read this online but didn't really see any didactic about it at the park. I may have missed it? Or it's just meant to be a dedication and that's that. I get it, I guess the park is meant to be a park, and its history is accessible if anyone wants to Google it. I was so happy to see this land remain undeveloped for so many years, worried it would turn into the Mc Architecture popping up all over Media (and the new residents have the nerve to put "save our greenspace" signs out front). But the resident who sold this land to the borough really did save her greenspace!
