It's an okay market. The service it well. People there are actually really nice. The food and drinks there a pretty good too. It's also pretty quite, besides the hand dryers in the bathroom. My local Kent's in Roy is slowly getting better but is still lacking in stocked items that all other markets have. For instance, Kents doesn't stock non-dairy yogurt. I had to submit a request to the manager who was very nice about it and said they would try to stock a product once in a while. Their coffee selection is poor. I would like to see them stock a variety of different whole beans and ground such as Peet's Coffee. The meat selection is good and they have nice sales from time to time. Produce is good but I'd like to see them start stocking fresh squeezed orange juice and expand their organic selection. They don't have a nighttime stocking crew so a lot of the time when shopping you'll run into palettes all over the store. Their bakery does a good job but use to make better apple fritters with more chunks of apple in the donuts. Customer service is good and they try to help and are always friendly. I still feel that there is plenty of room for improvement in several areas one being vegan products. read more

Kent's market is the best area in town to get meat. Hands down! They have a large selection, it's fresh, and priced well! Their produce section seems to usually have a few red hot deals but sometimes isn't (overall) as cheap as winco for produce. The store is always clean and well stocked. There usually are enough cashiers that you don't have to wait for ever to check out. The variety of items offered there is pretty good as well. I do wish they had a larger Asian food section. That's not just Kent's though. I find Utah, in general, needs a larger Asian food section in grocery stores. read more

If there's a sign saying something is on sale, that sign should be honored. It's not the customers problem that signs are not removed when they should be. And empower your employees to take care of your customers. read more

Bought a cake from this Kent's (Roy location) earlier in the day for my nieces birthday. Paid to have this cake customized for her, name, and decorations, etc. my nieces name was spelled incorrectly...it's a 4 letter name...but it happens. Upon picking up the cake it was taken home placed in the refrigerator as it's a buttercream frosting. As the time of the eating of the cake came to, the cake was removed from the fridge, and cover was removed...the cake immediately smelled...spoiled. The frosting was very smelly. The was corroborated by three other very astute noses. In a mad dash to get back to Kent's to get another cake, the customer service was awful. The manager wasn't at all pleasant, firstly stating only that he needed a receipt...who keeps a receipt for a cake that is very obviously smelly? No one that's who. This isn't some part of a cake ring I'm running here. The customer service offered no apologies only fixated on how he was doing something he wasn't supposed to in taking a funky back so my niece could enjoy a cake for her birthday. After this hero was able to issue a refund, we still wished to purchase a cake...good thing a smell test was performed...EPIC fail. The rest of the cakes were funky. As I understand things happen, the customer service for this funky cake and any attempts to be pleasant about it were awful. Be cautious of cakes from this location, and smell them. Nothing about it has ever made me swear off coming again, but it's also not my grocer of preference. The produce is a bit cheaper than at Smith's, but it can be hit-or-miss and generally seems to be of lower quality than at other stores in the area. They often have great deals right out front, even on cleaning products. read more

First time going to Kents-Roy since Clearfield location closed. They were out of 4 of 7 items on my list, including Red Button ice cream for 99 cents. No backup stock in the back, no rain checks. Coming from Layton, won't go back any time soon :(. read more

I've stopped in several times on my way to pick up my daughters after work and I like the store. They have a good selection of items. However this morning I decided to stop in for a donut and I'm glad I did. I got an apple fritter that was so good, tasted like it was made from scratch. So good. All the donuts looked fresh from scratch and not frozen then reheated like many places now days. This will definitely be one of my stops from now on when I'm in the area. I look forward to trying their other donuts in the future. read more

I usually shop here but since we moved its a toss up between the Roy & Clearfield store. This morning, 9:30am, at Roy store I kept wondering "what happened". Very few shoppers, shelves were sparse, parking lot cart holders full. I felt like I'd perhaps missed a big sale from night before, but nothing in ad about anything big. We rarely shop Kents since they recently fired their wonderful pharmacist a few yrs before retirement! I guess other people feel the same way we do about giving our business to a place that has these practises. I know McDonads just did this with their full time employees over 60. read more

Had a good first shopping experience there last week, clean, prices on par, found everything, and assisted by a helpful friendly employee.

Right by my house, so it's super convenient. The prices are usually pretty good and the staff is always very courteous. The deli is awesome - we Love to get the 10 pc chicken for $7.99, you can't beat that! It's always fresh and delisious and better than any restaurants in the local area! I want to support local businesses so I made a huge order of fried chicken here rather than a big box grocery. This morning's pick up was a dream. Fast, super friendly, even helped me out to the car. This evening, the staff seem like they can't figure out how to put chicken in an aluminum pan. Slow. Looks of confusion. Snails pace. No multitasking. I've been standing here for a half hour. The chicken tasted great this morning, so I'm sure it' ll be great again, but sheesh. Get it together, ladies! read more

I have lived in Roy for six years & in that entire time I have never been happy shopping at Kent's. They never had the products I was looking for and when I would ask for simple assistance or to help in the community I was turned down every time by store managers. I would recommend driving a couple blocks north to use Winegar's every chance you get. Friendly service & great products all the time at Winegar's & they're willing to help community members anytime they can. read more

I go here mainly because the meat selection is outstanding. Lot's of good deals all the time. Everything else in the store is typical of a local grocery store. Nothing out of the ordinary. The three stars is mainly for the slow checkout and the very slow customer service kiosk. I went in one time just to get stamps and stood at the costumer service kiosk for a good 10 minutes and no one even bothered to ask if I needed anything. The parking lot is a bit dicey as well, but that's mainly because most people around here don't understand the concept of parking. But if you need good, quality meat, this is the place to go. read more

I buy all my produce and meat at Kent's. Even if I can price match at Walmart, I don't like Walmart's produce or meat at all. Kent's has their own butcher dept and sometimes I've been able to buy NY strip steaks for as low as $3.99 a pound.They also have the BEST fried chicken in their deli. Better and cheaper than KFC. It's "broasted" which sears in all the juices. Most other general groceries and toiletries I find are cheaper at Walmart. But, I shop at Kent's at least once or twice a week and they always have plenty of checkstands open. read more

I have always had problems with this location, from day 1 they opened. This time was the last straw! When I walk in there were a couple of female employees just walking and talking, completely in our way and they made us go around. The deli employee never gave me my change, again. The eating area was disgusting with crumb on tables, chairs floor, drink rings from pop and the trash was over flowing. We cleaned our area the best we could just so we could sit down and eat our soggy, luke-warm food. When we were sitting there the deli employees starting cleaning up for the night, which is fine, but how it was done left my stomach queazy. One lady put the whole of her body from hips up into the food display to grab food out rubbing her hair, arms, clothes on the inside of it, yum right. Then she proceeded to take her gloves off and put everything away and wrap without gloves going from spot to another opening and reopening the container without gloves and dipping her upper half all the way in. When we had enough and where ready to leave those same employees that where in our way before were in our way again, just walking in circles around the stores chatting and getting in customers way (we watched them circle around over and over again the entire time we sat in the food court area). We had to go around them again while they were oblivious to everyone and everything around them but their conversation. I am done with their no care attitude about my comments when things are wrong like molded produce, baggers and cashiers putting their phones before customers, ringing up incorrect prices and complaint about me having them go double check their own sale tags and their lack of variety in almost every department.
