They have all kinds of cool and unique items in this store that vary in price depending on the artist. Some are rather high and others are fair priced. I personally walked away with two items form two different artists on my trip here. I purchased a university of louisville license plate decoration for my self and Burbon Barrel university of Kentucky coat rack for my brothers Christmas present. Overall I really enjoyed This shop. Was a fun browse and the lady working was very friendly and personable. They have lots of cool Bourbon Barrel decor and lots of cool university of Kentucky and Lousiville decor as well for the local college sports fans.

Artists Barrel is easily located on North 3rd Street, just a couple of storefronts north of East Flaget Sreet. With parking plentiful and short walking distance from all points downtown -- bars, restaurants, and all, you can come to Artists Barrel for various odds and ends-type of purchases. In my visit to the Artists Barrel, I bought Kentucky hats for my Dad and Stepmother, a Kentucky hanging ornament and a bourbon scented candle for my Mom, and a pair of bourbon boxers for my Aunt. So much for supporting small businesses I won't ever buy from anyone on that street again if this is how things are handled. I got it out to wrap it for my mom before I go back to Texas was going to walk it next-door as a Christmas present and it's clearly marked demo the lady pulled it from wherever her stock was there is no way it's got scratches all over there's no way I can give it as a Christmas present. It's one thing to make a mistake it's another thing especially before Christmas to tell somebody that it's their responsibility to drive over 65 70 miles to rectify a mistake they made and then refused to even give my message to a manager or an owner. Just wow. We have been down there so many times and my grandmother was actually from that city and I never expected that kind of treatment from somebody in a hometown. I will never support small businesses again. It's one thing if somebody makes a mistake it's another thing to be treated that way and their refusal to make it right. My nephew brought bought $150 train from there I told him to check in and make sure it works. This is why I don't buy from small businesses. Because they can get by with treating you like crap. The rudeness on the phone and the ladies continually talking over me and not even letting me get two words out because she was too busy defending herself in her store. I'm just blown away. I came down there with my family that I haven't seen in seven years it has put such a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm a 60 year old woman on disability and was so excited about the eight dollars I spent on my mother and how much she was going to enjoy that item. Now all I can do is cry. My 90 year old father passed away in August I bought this for my mother thinking it would comfort her because it had church hymns and songs on it that he liked I was not able to come to the funeral I thought it would be something special. I have definitely noticed that since I was a child 20 years ago the price of items at the exchange has really increased from being a super good deal to fairly lower than Walmart or maybe even more expensive than Walmart so it's kind of a letdown but it's not terrible and they have all right quality. I'll go back for sure. Often times including this location the staff are very friendly and the facility is clean you definitely don't have to worry about getting shot in the parking lot.

We parked there she literally got in her car and came and knocked on our door telling us to move our vehicle from the property in front of her junky store. Keeping in mind it's a public road! She doesn't maintain at all. And it was closed. She let me know that we had been in front of her closed business for 30 minutes and we were being rude!?! I would never shop there.
